First the support staff are excellant. However the dentures are awful. The upper plate is like having a hockey puck in your mouth cannot eat feels like your going to choke. Bottom plate aren't to bad but for $6000 you think you be able to eat and swallow your food. I have for around eight months I still can't eat. Again the folks that work there are great but I wasted a lot of money. My wife has had dentures for many and had a couple of pairs none look like hockey puck with teeth, they look normal. read more

I recently had an emergency with my back molar while out of town and visited Aspen Dental for help. Unfortunately, the experience left me confused. During the consultation, I was told my only option was to have the tooth removed or I needed to see endodontist, but wasn't given a clear explanation as to why they couldn't provide an alternative solution or help. I was in so much pain. I left feeling it was a waste of my time and uncertain about the full scope of my condition. On top of that, they only offered mild pain medication, which didn't fully address the pain I was experiencing. They made sure that I was ok after the procedure and answered any questions that I had. The doctor wanted to make sure that I did not experience any discomfort and kept me informed in each step of the procedure to lower any anxiety that I was experiencing. Affordable? What a crock of cow dung . This entire organization is no better than any used car outfit, the pillow guy or the con artists calling on the phone from fake numbers.. The ONLY good think about them is the low initial cost for xrays. That THEY plan on using to convince you to just give them you wallet or credit card so you hope they don't make you bend over too far.. I wanted upper implants. After the 5 minutes the DOC spent they whisk you off to the "Time sharing like" separate office with the smooth talking "sales person". And they hit me with an estimated cost of over $21,000 for upper implants. I just laughed and walked out. Went to a NON CORPORATION dentist and they came back with $12000 and would provide a lot more including two sets of dentures and filling some existing decays. That was my first and last with Aspen. Beware!!! I made an appointment a month in advance, then THEY called me to come in early. I was there an hour and half early only to sit in their waiting room the entire time to get only X-rays and then advise me they didn't have time for a cleaning! when asked for the reason for the outstandingly poor customer service I was advised that the office manager could not come out and communicate their inability to clean my teeth because he was pulled into a surgery!?!?!?? Then when asked why I couldn't have a cleaning done the same day I was advised that the dentist had to "prescribe"! what kind of cleaning!?!?!?! It seems to me they have significant flaws not only in their communication skills, time management and overall honesty. I would be interested to see if they bill correctly as multiple appointments for a cleaning seems very odd! Beware of this company. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is all about lining their pockets! Scam Artists! They recommend treatments you don't need just for the money. Went to them, got an exam and got quote for a treatment plan that included deep cleaning and other treatments to "save my teeth". Something seemed off about it so I got a second opinion. I knew I needed the deep cleaning but was not sure about the other treatments. The new dentist said "no way is all that extra stuff necessary." I was just about ready to go into the poor house for this place and it wasn't even necessary. I am so glad I trusted my gut. I had three bridge procedures done here and they tried to overcharge me every time, gave me one price at consultation and tried to charge me more day of proceedure. Then months down the road sent me bills claiming my insurance didn't pay them. Double billed me several times too. Awesome! I love the people, they were happy, helpful, and explain everything to me so I could understand. Pam is the best! They were able to get me in quickly and save me money. This was the first time the dentist and staff didn't try to upsell me something I didn't need in all my life going to the dentist. After going to two other dentists for a tooth problem, Aspen was able to immediately diagnose what was wrong and fix it the same day. Zero stars. Set up an appointment was there 15 minutes early. Lady was there her appointment was after mine. My appointment was 8:45... So 9:10 rolls around and front desk says to worker, her (mine) appointment is first but she was first but her appointment wasn't til 9:30... So takes the other lady in.... Which would push me back another 30 minutes. I confront her. Why would I make an appointment ... What is the point of appointments if you do not follow them.. I left. Not even worth it. These options were a summary of all the work they thought my teeth needed. Laughable. I never got the cleaning. They charged my insurance company though. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advance for my significant other and was going to have to drive 2 hours round trip and miss work to take him in. He has been in incredible pain. I called and spoke with Veronica and asked her GENERAL questions like "do you generally do extractions when people have an infection," etc and I got the standard HIPAA rhetoric about "because you aren't him, I can't tell you anything." I asked for a manager because I was not asking for specific health information regarding my significant other -- not to mention my SO has not even signed any HIPAA forms yet -- I was simply wanting to avoid a 2 hour round trip, missing work and a bill and wanting to know if I should reschedule for a few days in case my SO still had an infection. In the process of being transferred to a manager, I was hung up on. This could have been a mistake, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Instead of fulfilling my request to speak with a manager, I reached Veronica, once again, who explained to me that her manager was just going to parrot what she told me. Again, I explained I was not asking for any information protected by HIPAA, I was simply trying to save myself the time and money of driving to Springfield, and also try to get the next available appointment. I was asking general non-HIPAA protected questions. But see, the thing is here, some people use the "HIPAA" excuse to keep from having to actually do their job, like Veronica and her manager, and then they also want me to have to come in and pay a bill possibly to only be turned away and then have to make a 2nd appointment and pay a 2nd bill. And why wouldn't they? It's a FOR PROFIT industry. They've got to make money somehow, even if it means ripping off people. We will go to Dental ER in Springfield, who had zero trouble answering my questions about if my partner could be treated with a possible infection. For the record, if you are in this same boat, it is a misnomer that you can't have teeth pulled when you have an infection. That only applies if your infection is really, really bad, like so bad your eyes are swelling shut. The folks at Dental ER were happy to tell me that. Because IT IS NOT HIPAA PROTECTED INFORMATION! I hope this helps someone else. If you want to go to a dentist who really cares, and isn't just in it to rip off people and PROFIT, DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL! Do not, and I repeat DO NOT trust them with your health. In late 2017 I had to have two baby teeth (yes, as an adult) removed and bridges put in. It cost me around $5,000 to have this done. This year I went to a different dentist for a checkup and my teeth were perfect except we found in x-rays that these bridges were TERRIBLY done and had to be replaced or I was at risk of losing my teeth. When a bridge is put in, it is supposed to be flush against your tooth and not leave any room for food or bacteria to get underneath it. Aspen Dental did such a terrible job that on one side, my bridge had an 8 mm wide gap between the bridge and my tooth. I have had to have both removed and completely redone, which was not covered by insurance since it had been so recently done by Aspen. I have had to go through a painful surgery cutting 2mm off of my gums because Aspen filled my teeth down too much and spend countless hours at the dentist and in significant pain trying to get this repaired. I ended up having to report Aspen to the Missouri Dental board for negligence in my case. After reaching out and receiving hateful responses from the staff and Aspen Dental, they finally agreed to refund me for one of my bridges. However, they only refunded me approximately $1,000. Which is far less than what I paid to have the work done originally. When I questioned this amount, they opted to just completely ignored me. Their excuse to me was that they see so many new patients a day that they're too busy. A staff member at my new dentist's office told me that within the past month or so, she'd seen 3 other people come in having to redo the terrible work that Aspen provided. No one should be too busy to provide proper care to their patients and I will spend the rest of my days telling people to avoid Aspen at all costs. read more

I just needed a check up and cleaning. I had to wait long past my appointment time but the staff and dentist were very friendly, so I didn't complain. The dentist said I didn't need any work done but insisted a routine cleaning wouldn't be enough for me and I'd need a deep cleaning. I thought it strange that I had to meet with the office manager before seeing a hygienist. That's when I found out they wanted over $1,000 to do this so-call special cleaning (now I know this is a common ploy, see other reviews). I said I'd be getting a second opinion and they immediately dropped the price by $200. I asked for a copy of my xrays, was told it would take "a few minutes," and was sent to the waiting room. While I was waiting, a man came in and asked for a copy of his x-rays. He walked out with a digital copy on CD in about 10 minutes. They made me wait almost an hour and then would only give me a poor quality hard copy, refusing to put it on a CD. So much for Aspen's ads that their clinics don't rip off their customers. Ha. I had a broken tooth needed a crown. went to Aspen dental on N Kansas Springfield and to their credit was given free xrays and was looked at by a hygenist. was told i had Periodontitis (bacteria beneath gums). when the Dr. came in she told me i needed deep cleaning and root scaling, not once but every four months. (later found the cost of this is $1,000 per cleaining). only after the cleaning would she address the crown, but likely the tooth next to the broken one needed a crown as well (though it looks fine) and maybe the broken tooth needs a root canal ... cant tell till after the $1,000 cleaning plus i needed to buy a couple of expensive antibiotics .... when i went to the finance manager she presented me with a treatment plan in the thousands of dollars. even though i had a discount plan they supposedly honored, their crown price was $50 more, and they tack on a $100 "lab fee". etc. i told her i would get a second opinion and left. went to a different dentist the next day, who did the crown, didn't seem to think i needed a $1,000 cleaning or antibiotics, etc and whose price didnt include a $100 lab fee. in short i feel the free xrays and exam are just to get you in the door where it is sell sell sell, no matter what your real problem is. i heard the receptionists on the phone talking to other people about "after you take you antibiotics we'll (address your problem) .... so i wouldnt be suprised if deep cleaning and antibiotics are sold to everybody. 2 stars because there was no charge for the xrays and "exam". read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience today at Aspen Dental. Next to Disney World, this may be the happiest place on earth as every person I interacted with seemed filled with complete joy! After checking in, it was discovered that Aspen was not actually on my dental insurance. They still offered to do a complete set of x-rays and examination for free so that I could get a referral to have my wisdom teeth taken out. I truly wish they were on my DMO as this seems like the type of place people who "hate going to the dentist" need to go. Dr. Janarthanan has a great bedside manner. I was not an easy person to x-ray (small mouth, fighting tongue, strong gag reflex) and the x-ray tech handled my difficulties professionally and made me feel relaxed. The patient care coordinator was very courteous and explained all costs for potential treatment plans once it was discovered they were not on my insurance. She did not pressure me to stay and create new appointments knowing that I would have to cover everything out of pocket. Overall, an office I would highly recommend and I am heartbroken that they are not on my insurance plan! read more
