So when I showed up for my appointment the staff were loud, rude and condescending in front of a full waiting room! They made sure everyone knew that I had state insurance and they didn't accept it, instead of checking to see what the dental insurance under badger care was. I was lied to repeatedly on the phone when I scheduled my appointment. They told me that if my insurance wasn't accepted that the exam and X-rays would be 29 dollars for a new patient. I got there and they were midway through the X-rays when they demanded 300 dollars from me for the X-rays alone. They said whoever talked to me on the phone misinformed me and that the 29 dollar deal was only for those with no insurance not people who have insurance that they don't take. I made an appointment as a new patient to get my teeth cleaned. The same day I got a call from Beth saying that I was not a new patient and that I already have a treatment plan. Which is impossible because I had just moved here and had never been to any Aspen Dental facility. They then started asking me for my information, which should have already been in the system under my appointment information, and they realized it was just another patient with the same name. Which i don't understand why that was so hard to deduce that someone could have the same name as me... Anyways, I get to the office for my appointment I was not waiting long so that was great. When they called me back, they wanted to start with a scan of my teeth. Nothing crazy. But then the girl said I had to take my piercings out to be scanned, my nose rings and all my ear piercings. I have 10 piercings between my nose and my two ears, I was not about to stand there and take them all out. That's insane, and i've never heard of that. I've also gotten my teeth scanned plenty times before with all the same piercings present and have never once been asked to take them out for a teeth scanning. Not sure what that was about, but I just ended up leaving. I should have known from the ratings not to bother, but it's right around the corner from my house so I though what could possibly go wrong with a teeth cleaning. My experience with Aspen Dental started off great. I got right in, and had a free exam. I received a detailed treatment plan and started scheduling appointments for my (much needed- ouch) root canal and crown. Then my appointment was canceled a few days before my procedure because the dentist was quitting and they didn't want to start on a big job without knowing when it could be completed. So when I finally was able to get into another dentist's office for yet another exam to start this process over, the new office said they weren't able to get my X-rays from Aspen Dental. I went to my pre-scheduled appointment on 5/15/23 for what I was told was to be a cleaning. It turned to be an exam, X-rays, perio maintenance and gingival irrigation per quad. Your computer was down so I could not see a statement and make payment. Upon receiving the bill around 7/15/23 and seeing it was not what I expected, I met with Beth on 7/18/23 at the West Bend facility and explained my problems with the statment dated 7/9/23. She said she would review their records and talk to the doctor, and call me. After no call I went to office on 7/31/32. She told an associate she did not have time for me. I contemplated giving a 1 star review, but I did have some decent experience here. And I do mean SOME. on one occasion I had an 8am appointment and when I got to the office they insisted it was 8:45. okay so i have to just sit and wait. whatever. Every appointment I have had here i sat in the waiting room for more than 20 minutes past my appointment time, but sure, I guess they are always busy even when all my appointments are scheduled first thing in the morning. The dental work I did have seemed good, and the work on my partial denture was alright, but now that the partial broke less than 2 months later, I've spent weeks waiting for an appointment to repair. Then I show up this morning and check in 5 minute early as usual, which is good because my appointment is at the time the office opens. they have me take a seat and 20 minutes later I get called up to the desk. The office manager proceeds to tell me that she was on vacation last week and that the lab tech who was going to be helping me was out all week and i was going to have to reschedule. Mind you, I drive an hour to come here because my local aspen doesn't even have a Dentist on staff until June. I also had to use a half day of vacation from work for this appointment. I did get the whole I'm sorry its completely our fault. We can reschedule or we can try to get you into another office (even further away) right away. I just walked out and left as i was agitated and did not wish to cause a scene. Once I called back they apologized again and tried to cover the incompetency with a lie. "I'm so sorry, but the lab tech called in and we couldn't have known" to which I said "He called in for the whole week" and I was told that is what she is being told. Well what is it, did the tech call in or did you guys schedule me for a time that you didn't have a tech. Because remember when I was in the office the manager said she would have rescheduled me last week, if she was in. After this I rescheduled with a different location the other way from this one and they tell me this is an appointment that you basically drop off the broken denture, they take a quick impression again, and then repair at their own pace, and call you once done. I'm assuming West Bend would have been the same way, so why wasn't I told that as well. Moral of the story: if your time has no value, and you don't mind being jacked around, go ahead and schedule your appointment here. I'm currently looking for a billing address for me to recoup my time as if I would waste their time I'm sure I would be billed. Turn about is only fair play. read more

This is the first review I have ever given good or bad but this was such a terrible experience that people need to be warned. I went there knowing exactly what kind of service I wanted. After living with dental pain for over 20 years I wanted dentures. I was told by a their doctor that he was not willing to do that and he would only do partials and in a couple years I could come back and they would do full dentures then. While in the chair he knocked of one of my crowns and said "whep we'll have to replace that one too". Now in all fairness that crown was lose and I am not holding that against him but damb! After the exam is when things went really bad Kelsey Stickan the office manager from hell, she gave me a quote for the work they thought I needed. . She told me that she would call me right away in the morning to schedule the replacement for the tooth that had gotten knocked of in the exam (she never called). She did send me an email to let me know that the quote she gave me the day before was wrong and the price had went up $3000. So finally I called her because I am going on a trip and don't want to be walking around looking like a hillbilly (no offence to hillbilly's just not the look I'm going for). She scheduled me an appointment for 3:00 today which I accepted and I asked her for a quote for just the tooth they broke off and she sent me back a $9000 quote for one tooth which was almost half the cost of everything on the original quote. At this point I am desperate so I keep the appointment. So today I arrive at 3:00 for my appointment and the doors are locked. I knock one the window and she came to the door and asked me what I wanted. I said I was there for my 3:00 appointment. She said they were closed because the doctor was sick. she said she called, texted and emailed everyone that had appointments. I said I never received any notification to which she told me she didn't know why I even showed up since it was obvious they weren't going to make me happy. WHAT THE HELL? The dentist was extremely young, inexperienced and disinterested in my dental health. She was condescending, did not even look at my teeth let alone the tooth I came in there with concerns. She looked at xrays and said all my teeth need to come out and left the room. It seemed like she didn't want to deal and wanted to get home for dinner. I wanted to laugh because I was treating with an experienced dentist in another state for the past seven years whom I just saw five months earlier. I was hoping to establish a dentist locally. I confirmed with another dentist that my teeth were fine and do not need to come out. Talk about someone being in the wrong line of business. It's like the patient was a bother and how dare I ask her to look at a tooth. It was awful and caused me a lot of unneeded anxiety. DON'T GO HERE!!!! read more

I was recommended to come to Aspen by a customer from my work since the first exam is free and I don't have dental insurance. I am very insecure about my teeth and knew they weren't the best, which is the whole reason I decided to go and get them looked at. The dentist who was looking at my teeth was completely rude and unprofessional. I could hear her laughing about my X-rays to her assistant, and making jokes about how horrible my teeth were. We were going over what was wrong with my teeth, and she says "you have two cavities on the front of your teeth, which you can obviously see". After the appointment was over, I sat in my car and cried because I never felt more insecure and ugly in my life because of the way I was belittled by a" professional" I will never go there again, and wouldn't recommend anyone to either. read more

2 hours ago Despite what I was told more than twice on the phone when scheduling my daughter's appointment, THIS IS NOT A PRACTICE THAT CARES FOR CHILDREN. I specifically asked if my daughter, who is 4, would be acceptable age-wise and was informed by more than one scheduler that yes, Aspen does pediatric dentistry. So essentially they lied to get us in the door. If I could rate them negatively I would. Once my daughter and I were there, it became glaringly obvious they do NOT treat children. The bite plates they attempted to use to get x-rays for my child were so big she couldn't even close her mouth. So they then attempted to do a panoramic by having her stand on a very rickety, small step ladder. While the x-ray technician and hygienist were patient and fairly gentle with her, the dentist, Dr. ONela, was rude, impatient, man-handled her, and entered the room by announcing they don't really see children there, and proceeded to inform me that she needed a surgical procedure to correct her gums (again, she's FOUR). When I questioned if a child who still has all of her baby teeth really needed a surgical procedure that seemed more cosmetic he was arrogant and impatient, and left abruptly without saying goodbye. The hygienist explained again that they really don't see children, and referred me to a pediatric dentist nearby who is out of our insurance network. I will never return to Aspen Dental, and neither will anyone I know. I was appalled at how rudely the office staff spoke to people over the phone as I waited almost 20 minutes to be checked out. I will be searching again to find a pediatric dentist in network, and even if I have to drive an hour, it will be worth it to never have to step foot in an Aspen Dental again. A quick Google search of Aspen Dental's practices and "bonuses" for dentists who bill high amounts should send you running for the local dentist who works for himself. read more

I didn't learn that it was a replacement of a crown, or I would of reported him, because Crowns don't get cavities. Only after 58 minutes in the chair did I realize he was drilling down an old crown and not a tooth. Gum line's don't adhere to Crowns. Their was no cavity between the crown and receded gum line. Even his prescription for pain didn't have his ID or name on it. The detest had maybe 3 days experience. His morals are just ugly and cheaper than an experienced Detest for your operation. This crown replacement was just to keep him busy and make money for his employer. I was also charged for a Core Building, which he did not do. And a $40.00 fee for a bounced check. Which didn't happen. YOUR OPERATION IS UGLEY. I will do all I can to inform other of your tactics. I'm not a secretary but even I know you don't abbreviate in Addresses. I have been going to this office for several years and even when I moved over an hour away I decided to continue making the drive all the way out here as i previously have had good experiences. After my recent terrible experiences, I will never go back. I have had 2 appointments canceled on me without any warning in the last 2 years and I only go to 2 appointments a year (so 50%). I drove over an hour to an appointment last year only to find out that someone had called in sick and that I would have to reschedule (which would be months out). Then today i arrived at my appointment only to find out that they gave my appointment away to someone else. This appointment had been scheduled for 6 months! I also confirmed this week via email that I was still going to make it to the appointment, but apparently I was supposed to call them and make a verbal commitment to my appointment as well. The non sympathetic woman at the desk said "oh just come back tomorrow, maybe we can fit you in." Absolutely terrible customer service. I told them I will never be back as they have done this to me too many times. The customer service here is about as bad as the DMV. I would recommend going to a non-chain dentist office that actually sticks to their appointments and treats you like a normal human. read more

My experience was not good and will never use this business again. Had two teeth that required root canals. They conned me into paying out of pocket $300 for a cone scan that they said the endodontist needed. After three requests they never sent the scan to them. I complained and they dropped the charge. I was in horrible pain and all they would prescribe was Tylenol 3, but they did not call it in to my pharmacy. After repeated calls they did it and I got the pills at 8pm. Did nothing for the pain so had to go to my doctor in order to get something stronger. They then said I needed a tooth cleaning session before the crown prep. I showed up and a dental hygentist told me it was actually gingivitis treatment. I dont have gengivitis. I ended up leaving the office and canceled further services with them. They bilk you with unnessary services and communication within the office, with patients and external offices. is horrible. read more

Recently went to Aspen Dental in West Bend and had the most unprofessional experience ever. Kaitie Jo brought me back and was doing work clinically. I thought this was normal until I overheard the Doctor and her disagreeing in the hallway right outside the room. The doctor repeated himself about three times to Kaitie Jo saying she is not the doctor and should not be doing any more work inside patients mouths unless she gets the okay from him. This made me feel very uneasy. In addition to that, everytime I step foot into the office, there are different employees working. This scares me and makes me wonder what the company is doing to their employees to cause them to leave. read more

Aspen Dental is absolutely horrible. During one of my visits I spent over 45 minutes in the waiting room. No one there knows how to handle children, having two people shoving wing bites in my sons mouth trying to get x-rays. My wife once had my kids with her during one visit and was told just before leaving "well, you're all set. Thanks for the birth control..." Are you kidding me?!? The billing is absolutely atrocious. They had no idea what our insurance covered and told us to pay and we will bill your insurance later. That whole process took over 5 months and multiple phone calls. This place needs to close down sooner rather than later, or just get people in there that know what they're doing. We are never going back. I would drive an hour away just to avoid this place. Right when I walked in I was greeted by the wonderful receptionist Elise who was very sweet and patient getting all the new paperwork together. Then I was greeted by Emily, who immediately calmed my nerves about the big X-Ray machinery by making me laugh. She always has a big smile, and vibrant personality that make me truly look forward to going to the Dentist. In future appointments she worked side by side with the Dentist to assist him with everything he needed, and she did so flawlessly. Sara does an excellent job explaining your personalized dental plan, making future appointments and explaining costs and insurance. Truly a wonderful staff with wonderful Dentists and overall the best dental care I've ever received. Thank you Aspen Dental Family for making our visits so enjoyable. New patient exam: Shouldn't you be trying to give your patient the best experience possible during this exam? No, you guys had the nerve to ask me to be 15 minutes early to fill out papers and then didn't even get me back for X-Rays until 30 minutes after my appointment time. Oh and it might help to not jam the bite-wings into peoples mouths to the point where they nearly throw up, or cutting the roof of my mouth multiple freaking times to the point of me bleeding and not even giving me a change to adjust it a bit myself. Also, the "I'm sorry we're very busy today," I would have a little more leeway with this if you hadn't already rescheduled me due to a double booking last week, I was very understanding about that. Finally I get put in an exam "room" (honestly it felt more like the area that they take pet back to at a vets office) and ignored for another 20 minutes. At an hour and a half of being there without even seeing my dentist or even knowing what their name is, I decided I'd had enough of this and went to find out what was going on. I'm fairly certain they completely forgotten I was still there by the way they reacted. Thanks.... I decided I'd had enough at that point and let them know I was leaving. I may have really nice teeth and wouldn't be getting much work done, but if I liked it here I was planning to take my husband, who has terrible teeth, back here.
