Let me preface this review with the fact that I had been in severe tooth pain for about 2 weeks straight, living off of Ibuprofen and tylenol. On my journey to figure out what was going on with my tooth, I went to 3 different dentists who couldn't figure out the issue. It wasn't until Dr. Dan Smith walked in the room that I felt a rush of reassurance, trust, and kindness. Dr. Dan has an incredibly caring bedside manner mixed in with the utmost professional demeanor in his responses to your questions. He took his time with my care, listened to my complaints until I was done giving him all the information that was important to me, and he reassured me with confidence in his answers. I cannot recommend this establishment and Dr. Dan enough. For the first time I felt cared about and that I was in good hands. It took Dr. Dan no more than a couple minutes to come up with the cause to all my tooth pain / issues. Their pricing is beyond fair compared to the surrounding dental offices. The entire staff up front was helpful and thorough. It was the most pleasant experience I've had going to a dental office in my 32 years of life. Thank you Dr. Dan and Bark River Dental! Dr. Caputo was able to see me this morning at 8:00. He was able to save the tooth and put on a temporary crown. Permant crown will be put on next week. I only mention this little experience because sometimes my friends are looking for a dentist for whatever reason. I highly recommend Dr. Caputo. He and his staff are so kind, friendly and professional. He believes that he should try to do anything to save the tooth, rather than pull it. He's a good guy. Give him a try. The dental hygienist was extremely thorough with the cleaning and polishing of my teeth as well as the x-ray and physical exam of my teeth and gums. Dr. LaManna takes the time to explain everything that is going on with your teeth and gums. She also made sure to give me information about how to rectify any problems that I was having with my teeth. I would highly recommend the Lakeshore Family Dentistry office! I don't care to go to the dentist for it has not always been a good experience for me. I have found that I will probably be going to the dentist a lot more often now that I have found that Dr. LaManna and her staff. They made me feel comfortable and not afraid to come back.

But my last two experiences were very bad. Last time I went here I was waiting (I think over 30min?) even though I made an appt. Fine, it happens. I got in the chair they took x-rays (great!) then sent a hygienist over and she did very, very, very little. They usually use a color coded probe to measure your gumline to see how much its receded, that was not done. They also de-calcify your teeth with a scaler/ultrasonic scaler (the scrapey part no one likes) she only did it on a few front teeth. Then she opened the prophy paste to "clean" the teeth and all she did was tap my four front teeth. That's it. That's all folks. Then they RUSH RUSH RUSHED me out the door. No one was that friendly either...busy I guess? Whatever. All in all very poor experience. They sure did bill my insurance though, of course! I thought maybe a fluke, one off? So I sent my husband in with tooth pan (cracked tooth.) I made him an appointment and everything. He waited FOR AN HOUR still and they looked at it, took a x-ray and sent him on his way. To be fair he didn't have my HSA card for payment so I get that. The real problem is (besides the ridiculous wait time) when I asked him about the experience he said "I didn't feel welcome there." and "They rushed me out so quickly." and "I just didn't feel like they wanted me there." Before anyone slaps back, yes I have very healthy teeth. I still don't see this an excuse to not perform certain tasks; and I do know what I am talking about. I have worked in dental for 10 years and I've never ever seen this level of poor service before. Pass all, find another one. One that prefers quality over quantity in patient car
