HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Young at Aspen Dental of Wyomissing. Broke my denture while in the chair. Four hours later they let me leave without a denture that fit properly. Three weeks later they finally fix it. (missed 3 weeks of work). Then, after telling me the work was covered under Aspens guarantee, they send me a $600 bill. Customer Service was absolutely WORTHLESS. This is a the jiffy lube of dental practices and a total disgrace! read more

I came to aspen because American dental wasn't a good experience. Aspen was just as bad if not worse. Refused to use my X-rays from the other dentist office taken 8 months prior and my insurance would not cover two X-rays in one year. I am 32 years old, have never had a cavity or required any dental work, never needed braces, no broken teeth, no risk factors for any oral problems and no symptoms and yet they would not even look at my teeth without taking $157 worth of X-rays first despite having perfect X-rays 8 months ago. I get very little time off so I just paid the money and hoped at least the cleaning would be better than American- it was not. As expected, my X-rays were "perfect" as Dr Long said- the dentist at American also noted they were perfect. As a physician, the lack of critical thinking and shared decision making was very disturbing to me. Like many doctors, dentists heavily contribute to healthcare burden and patient mistrust and aspen is just as bad. Dental health is linked with so many other health conditions and is very important yet patients avoid dentists because they feel scammed or cannot afford all the surprise add ons. As a doctor, I felt just as scammed. Only positive was the receptionist Nikki was kind and took the time to help me get my records and convinced the dentist to at least look at the X-rays from American. Once more I am looking for a dentist if anyone has recommendations. read more

Every time I have dealt with this facility, everyone seems to be well versed in their jobs, and very friendly and professional.

I am a single mother of three, I took my children there for services and made sure whatever co-pays were accumulated were paid right then and there. months later I returned for follow ups and was notify that along with the over 2 hundred copay i also had a over 3 hundred bill that was also titled copay!? I explained to the lady that was incorrect and that i paid the copay for the the visit at the visit. There were no records of my copay until I pulled up my online banking to show that it was paid, so then they said the amount was for something totally different. As a single mother I don't have money to just dish out just because and that was the visit we had there! read more

Made a Saturday morning appointment. Showed up on Saturday morning. Doors locked, lights are out, no signs of movement inside the office. Called the number and spoke to a representative. She discovered that the office "emailed and texted" me five days prior that my appointment would need to be rescheduled. Never received the email even though says it was "delivered" on their end. I had nothing in my spam folder from Aspen. Never received a text. And now there's apparently no Saturday appointments for the foreseeable future. Waste of time. read more

Let me just start by saying information that I wish I had known prior to making this appointment: This location only has an oral surgeon ONCE a month. I suddenly got bad wisdom teeth pain so I began desperately searching online for a place near me. This place comes up when you google oral surgeon near me so I called and told them about the pain I've been having. I called on a Friday and they scheduled me for today which is Monday so that was pretty quick. I was super excited to finally get this pain taken care of. I love that they offer free exams and free x-rays for new patients without dental insurance, that was extremely helpful to me. The consultation went very smoothly but I have one big problem. When the dentist came in the room and reviewed my X-rays confirming my bottom left and right wisdom teeth are impacted he had let me know that their oral surgeon is only there ONCE a month. Now If you ever experienced wisdom teeth pain or any type of teeth pain then you know that this something that you want/need taken care of right away, not a MONTH from now. The dentist had also let me know that I have an infection in my gums due to the wisdom teeth and gave me a script for antibiotics. All the employees were very very kind. I really wish that they would let customers/patients know that they only have an oral surgeon ONCE a month ESPECIALLY if the customer/patient is telling you how much pain they're in. Had I known, I would have went elsewhere. After my consultation I immediately called another company and they said they have an oral surgeon 4 days a week. Much better. Edit: I was correct! At the other better business I found nearby I was able to get all of my wisdom teeth removed 3 weeks sooner than this place! I was put on the cancellation list and again since the better location has multiple oral surgeons there 4 days a week, an opening came up quick! Just got them all removed 2 weeks ago. Also wanted to add that the dentist at aspen dental told me that I likely wouldn't be able to find somewhere else who can do it sooner than they can lol. So glad they were wrong! read more

Scheduled for a procedure that would have been covered by my insurance if they hadn't scheduled to do it all in one visit. I have no problem with the work performed, just with the knowledge of the office to work with major insurance companies (Blue Cross) and the cost consequences of their lack of knowledge being passed on to me after the work was performed. read more

I have found the hygenic portion of the provided procedures to be the only positive for this practice. Hamburg locations. The general overall atmosphere re dentist {9 out of 10) visits I saw only 1 dentist two times.No comprehensive attention. The last DDS was curt, rude, and accusative while attempting discussions o of care. Previous applications of veneers would come off frequently. Not a norm. Very chaotic environment. Partials did not fit from day one. Many trips from Hamburg to Kenhorst in attempts to resolve the issues. Approx.1yr. Problems continue. Many unneeded repetitive x-rays. Presented set of films. The same films were taken. Same results. Each cleaning (6mo) x-rays again. I left the practice before. I returned because of insurance purposes. A sorry mistake. Nothing had changed over the years. Positive note, office staff is very personable along with interim techs in preps for DDS visit. read more

They need to refund me $50.00 because they charged my dental insurance deductible for the year when they should not have. I was to my regular dentist earlier and Cap Blue's EOB said he was supposed to collect that. Spoke to a woman named Chandler. She said she would see that I get the refund. So far nothing. Please look into that. Regarding my care, Dr. Young did a masterful job extracting my #31 molar after it cracked. Had a small complication with a dry socket and he fixed it for me. Finally on it's way to healing. I compliment Dr. Donovan Young for the fine job he does and the clinic he runs very professionally. read more

I have gone to Aspen Dental several times now. The staff is extremely friendly and caring. They listen to what you want and don't try to push you into a more expensive procedure. I have been very happy with Dr. Young and all the staff. I would highly recommend them. Thank You Dr. Young and staff for taking such care. I was overdue for a regular cleaning and decided to try this place because they had evening appointments open. I booked online and received an email saying I need to call in to give them my insurance info. The woman named Chandler who answered my call was miserable. Apparently you aren't guaranteed a cleaning if you book for a cleaning. I asked for clarification and she just kept repeating herself with an angrier tone each time. I asked her what exactly the dentist would be doing with my mouth if I could not get a cleaning. She stated I would need a full dental exam before any other services could be performed . (I've been a new patient multiple other places and I've always gotten a cleaning every time). The next day they called me with the estimated cost of the visit and it was $150 dollars. I've never paid more than $20 even with full X-rays done. The customer service and price quote I received were ridiculous. Needless to say I didn't go to the appointment. read more

I'll start by saying the actual dentist I saw at my initial appointment seemed nice enough, however it's a completely different story with the hygienist I saw for my cleaning. I asked the dentist about receding gums, to which he said I could seek treatment if I wanted for cosmetic reasons, but he specifically stated that "he was not very concerned and did not think I had gum disease". Two months later, I finally come in for my cleaning, and the hygienist acted extremely concerned that I have gum disease. I asked her how to treat or prevent further damage, to which she replied "brushing and flossing". She didn't seem to believe my when I said I do both regularly. Overall, she was very rude and unhelpful when I asked questions. When I told her the dentist didn't seem concerned about my gums, she dismissed me and said "it's not his job to check, it's mine". I was being rushed in and out as quickly as possible. She then proceeded to give me the most painful dental cleaning I've ever received. I put up with it while I was in the chair, because I was still so concerned and alarmed that she told me I had gum disease. The pain was about the same as getting a tattoo. However, it's an entire week later and my teeth and gums are still deeply sore. She actually knocked my orthodontic wire loose during the cleaning, and it had to be glued back on during my visit (very hastily) by a doctor who used way to much glue, leaving a giant bump on the back of my tooth. On top of that, I've now filled out a form twice at the office because I wanted to receive my x-rays. I've never received anything. You couldn't pay me to ever come back. read more

So i have insurance they dont accept. Thats ok. Problems are one they advertise free first visit and consultation. This is false advertising ! They wanna charge me $200 for first visit. Horrible place!! The dentists don't listen to what you are having trouble with they rush you out and the work is cheap for expensive bills. We got the supposedly best dentures that are so called better then real teeth and so far three teeth broke and now we are back cuz they cracked in half. And it must be in the job description to be a rude person that just has full time nasty look on their faces because they make you feel like your not welcome and your taking up their time!! read more

One star frankly is to high. I got my wisdom teeth out a few months ago after all of my gums except 1 healed I went for a post op appointment and I told them I was still in pain and it was infected. They cleaned out the gum and told me to keep using the mouthwash. I did that a few weeks later I came back and was still having the same issue. They told me it was just healing it will be fine. Weeks later in the middle of the night I felt something sharp in my mouth. I ended up finding 1 shard of tooth and part of the root still in my gums. During both appointments I had x-rays and they found nothing. I'm still paying for this terrible surgery. I will never go back. read more

Had a root canal done here and had around $500 of extra charges on my bill for "prescription" toothpaste, a "prescription" toothbrush, and other "prescription" products I did not ask for and didn't know I was receiving until after I had paid. Not only this, but the root canal wasn't done right and the tooth fell apart two or three months later. read more

Can not rave enough about the dentist here. Very friendly and very good at what he does. I've had one tooth pulled before and thought the dentist was going to break my jaw I felt like I was in that chair forever. Today the dentist had my tooth out in under 5 minutes and when he saw I was uneasy he stopped and reassured me it was ok. Will definitely be going back here read more

They will not take emergencies, I have been a patient there for a while and I have a horrible tooth ache and they are open for vets,no one in the waiting room and they won't see me until Tues and it's Saturday morning. I'm in horrible pain and they sent me away. I'm so hurt that they won't help me after all the money I have spent at this office in Wyomissing. Terrible just heartless. They have no compassion for one of there patients in pain since yesterday at 5 pm. read more

Dr. Romero and the staff were amazing. I had short wait time. Just a few minutes. I was so scared for my tooth extraction and they made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Romero prepped me very well. I never felt any pain or discomfort. I'm so great full. And look forward to my next visit. Also the office is nice and clean. read more

Aspen Dental was very nice to deal with. They helped me to have my denture repaired very quickly. My problem was when I went to pick it up I signed in and sat and waited for an hour. I didn't need to see the doctor, just to pick up my denture. It literally took 15 seconds for me to try it for the nurse, say it fit ok and walk out of the office. That upset me. read more

Never go to Aspen Dental I waited in a dental chair for an Hour in a freezing cold room just so they could for a "consult" that lasted 5 minutes. I sat there with that stupid bib around my neck thinking they were going to clean my teeth, and ended up walking out of there with just a lot of time wasted. You do NOT treat patients that way. They do that so that you end up paying twice for no reason ... A total scam!! I told them thanks but no thanks.... Warning: Don't buy into that crap!!! read more

Dr. Young is a very capable and professional dentist. The staff at Aspen is friendly and very willing to assist you with any situation you have. My son and daughter both had their wisdom teeth out there and it was handled really well with minimal swelling and pain. Highly recommend! read more

DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE. I'm serious. Never ever go. I am an avid dentist goer, never missing a 6 month appt. My insurance changed and I needed my 6 month check up and aspen dental was my only choice, unfortunately. They told me I had 8 cavities and needed a root canal. I legitimately laughed at the doctor because I thought it was a joke. Needless to say TWO YEARS LATER, I still cannot chew on the right side of my mouth, and now have two cracked teeth from the horrible fillings they put in. My new dentist upon looking at my X-rays that aspen did, said I didn't need any of the dental work they insisted on at aspen. I'm not sure how someone can sleep operating a business, practice or company this way. I hope you don't take this review lightly if you are considering Aspen. You will regret it, I certainly do. If I could give zero stars, I would. Stay far away! These people should be ashamed of themselves. Dentistry is an important facet of overall health and should not be taken lightly. It is abundantly clear that they are only interested in selling products, not actually treatment. Without details, I've been in pain for over a year after seeing them. When I came in for my appointment, the girl at the front told me the dentist was about 15 minutes behind. No, problem. To my surprise, it was only about a 10 minute wait. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was great, so was the doctor. My whole visit only took about 45 minutes. The entire team was friendly and helpful. read more

Went to these Aspen Dental thinking things would be good because I'm getting my teeth fixed. Must say, things seemed ok at first. Well after getting in the chair and seeing a tv come on, I was like uh, so who's watching tv here, because it's definitely not the patient laid back in the chair with there mouth propped open getting drills in it. So at the first procedure, like I suspected they are into the tv just as much as your mouth. I'm sorry, I remember being a kid getting work done and the dentist focused on you and your teeth, that was it. No one else, not laughing at a tv while holding a drill by your face, then going back to work for 10 seconds, then back to the tv, what a joke! Secondly, after I had the work done, I was having issues with pain in my gums, nerve pain, so I went back and explained the issues, they took X-rays, and told me it could be from the fillings and that they may have to be replaced, well thank god I had the sense to ask if this is something that will get better before you turn on your tv and mess it up again. I decided to wait and it is somewhat better but not completely. One last thing, I told the person, dr, whatever he is, a man with a megaphone in his mouth, that has no respect for a persons privacy, about what I was doing for the pain and he responded every time in the 10 minutes I was there, talking as loud as he could about the issue I was having so the whole place could hear, seriously, it's called privacy and I'm right next to you megaphone man, I'm not down the hall. Let's keep my business between us, thank you. I have now asked for a refund of the services I haven't yet received, and will be going to a better dentist elsewhere.
