They called around to find the office which had the pieces I needed for my 6 year old implants!

I took my 90 year old father there with terrible tooth pain. The dentist said they had to check with his cardiologist before they could take the tooth out. They told me they would send the information to the cardiologist right away via fax. I called them a few days later and they said they didn't hear back from the cardiologist. I called the cardiologist who said they didn't receive a fax. The cardiologist called American Dental and they said "oh the fax didn't go through". The cardiologist said OK email it instead. It was never received!! The cardiologist called multiple times but never received anything. Over two weeks since the original appointment and nothing!! So my father suffered with pain that whole time. I called a different dentist and they got him in right away, I will NEVER go to American Dental again (I am a patient at a different location), but after this they are not getting any of my money. THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE THERE WERE ALSO LESS THAN PERSONABLE. read more

The coordinator Angie is not professional at her job. She had a really bad attitude towards me: Didn't let me finish what I need to explain to her of my situation. She kept looking at her computer and challenged me with questions that wasn't related to why I am here for the appointment. She still wanted to dismiss me and sent me to a third party clinic, even I showed her my referral in my email. I asked to talk to the dentist. She refused for me to see the dentist. The dentist walked in and took me in for an exam. She was rude and nasty. She treated me like a child, acted like she is a principal. I am very upset. read more

Stay away from this practice. The front desk woman at the Lititz location - CELESTE SMITH is extremely rude and unprofessional. She quoted me the wrong & higher rate for crowns and tried to forcefully tell me that if I did not go with the option of higher priced crowns, the practice will not be able to take care of my teeth at all. It is only when I called up another office location in Lancaster & spoke to the manager (Mercedes) there that I got a correct response with the type of crown I needed for my dental treatment. Celeste even had me wait in the waiting area at the Lititz office for close to 2 hours by simply saying that the doctor is busy with other patients. Celeste Smith needs some SERIOUS coaching on how to talk to customers & also how to be ethical!!! I went to the Wyomissing office with my 7 year old and myself for a cleaning. They told me I had 2 cavities. They stated that my son had 6 cavities. I got a second opinion. Dentist stated no cavities. This place is a scam. I hope this business is shut down soon as they are unethical. After hearing of other testimonies by people who have visited this place, they have shared horror stories about getting treatment from this place as well. Do not go to this place. This is an unethical practice. If you want to keep your natural teeth, do not see this dentist. I was referred to Dr. Beder to look at a 2+ year old root canal because of a shadow shown in an X-ray (according to Dr. Mariani there seemed to be an issue). Dr Beder drilled a hole in a perfectly healthy tooth (perforating the root space). During his drilling into the tooth, he was incoherently mumbling and rambling during the procedure. Very odd and unprofessional bedside manners. Dr. Beder's solution to fixing the "imaginary"root canal issue was to push the existing hardened material back in the canal to fill an empty space seen on x-rays (not sure who's X-rays these two doctors were reviewing). Oh the unnecessary tooth pain experienced months later . I eventually saw a good dentist, X-rays showed there was nothing wrong with the original root canal. However, I needed the tooth pulled because the unnecessary hole that was drilled in my tooth caused an actual issue. Run from this practice. read more

first started going to American Dental Solutions in the Wyomissing office on Penn Ave a couple months ago! I presented the lady with both my dental insurances...mine was delta dental and my husbands is Cigna.....the lady in charge of billing was well aware of me having 2 dental insurances! Not once did she say one word to me about billing my husbands insurance, she acted like i didn't even have it!! So the 1st incident occurred when i received a statement from Cigna saying they paid my claim for the 1st initial visit which was my consultation which they advertise is free, but yet they billed my husbands insurance and never mentioned a word to me! When I asked the lady about it, she told me it was only free if you didn't have insurance, which I knew was a crock of shit, but I let it slide, so then the 2nd incident occurred when I received another statement from Cigna stating that American Dental Solutions billed them for my bottom denture and billed mine as well, but Cigna denied that claim so I didn't confront them about it! Then at my 2nd appt.....they did some work and charged me out of pocket that day $70 then a couple days later I receive a statement from Delta Demtal stating that they paid the claim and patient responsibility should have only been $35 and if they were doing things by the law, then they should have went under "Coordination of Benefits" and what my insurance didn't cover, then my husbands should have picked up the balance! Now this is the 3rd time, this lady charged both of my insurances so I was a little upset when I had my appointment yesterday and i confronted the office manager which is the same person that is in charge of billing!! It even made me more upset when she kept lying to me...first she said she was unaware of me having Cigna as my secondary ins and I told her that was a lie because she billed Cigna for my consultation that should have been free!! She then continued to lie and said it wasn't her that billed Cigna it was her billing department so I asked her if we can call the person that she reports to and she wouldn't! She not only charged both of my insurances for the same exact thing, she also charged me an additional $70 out of pocket when i shouldn't had to pay anything!! I told the lady that what she is doing is committing insurance fraud by double dipping and I will not become a victim of it! I now have to have my oral surgery at the Kenhurst location and I'm scared they are gonna do the same thing and make me pay more that I have to!! I have no problem contacting both insurance companies so they can investigate it! I will give until the end of today in hopes that someone will reach out to me to resolve this issue....if not then I am calling both insurance companies and having them look into it! I took my 6 year old grandson for his appointment on monday. He saw Caitlin the hygienist. She is the best. She knows how to keep have people look forward to coming back. She holds conversations with him. I would recommend her to ALL ages. She is 100% a very personable human being. He is already looking forward to seeing her in 6 months. Place is a scam. I went for my 6-month cleaning. The hygienist told me several times that I had the cleanest mouth she's seen in a long time. Dentist comes in and says I have SEVEN cavities. I left without scheduling an appointment to have these cavities filled. I continued with my regular dental care, and 6 months later, I found a new dentist for my next cleaning. Just left the appointment with the dentist telling me that everything looks great - no cavities. American Dental was literally going to drill into and forever alter SEVEN of my teeth, just to make a quick buck. read more

Hello, I would give no star to this practice if that would be possible. On 01.16.2023 the office in Temple has charged my insurance for $1025.00 for a lower Mandibular partial denture . on 03.28.23, I've been scheduled for an appointment to pick up my denture: I was not happy, because it was not what I've expected, besides my new denture had a metal wire that was going across my mouth, half of an inch away from my real teeth. This will prevent me for a good eating or talking. Not sure if it was either the impression or the lab mistake. The dentist offered to make a different style of denture and scheduled me to pick it up from her new office, in Phoenixville, 30 miles away from my house. They've scheduled the appointment for 04.20.2023. - - On 04.19.2023 night, they've called me from the office trying to reschedule the appointment from the next day but than, they've decided I can still keep it. On 4.20.2023,, they've presented me at the office in Phoenixville exactly with the same last denture. They took another impression and scheduled me to pick it up on 5.10.2023. On 5.09.2023, they've called me to let me know the case is not there yet and they would have to reschedule again the appointment. I've already had made a ride arrangement that I should cancel on the new situation. I''ve considered a lock of care on their part, disrespect for the patients, and an insult so...I no longer trusted them . Because of all these reasons ....I refused to reschedule the appointment. It looks like they play games with us, the patients . i've filed a complaint. The next day, Trish Joy, from the Corporation called me and offered to give me a refund by 05.15.2023. On which day she called and offered TO REFUND THE AMOUNT OF MY DENTURE TO MY INSURANCE BUT...TO CHARGE ME FOR IT!!!! t This was her solution for my problem. Now, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DENTURE THAT I DON'T HAVE IT !!! Not mention my time, my frustration...my health that deteriorated with each incident, rising the risk of having another stroke. I'm not surprised there are so many poor reviews for American Dental on Penn Avenue. I had a few appointments there last year, and I can tell you the customer service given to patients is deplorable. I found the doctors mediocre, and the rude office personnel will not hesitate to mistreat people and then lie to cover their misdeeds. read more

My experience with this office over the last 1+ years has been very good. The cleanings are well done, and I've seen two different Dental Hygienists. The Dentist I see, Dr. Neil, has been awesome. Very nice, listened to my concerns, addressed everything I needed. Dr. Hsu and his nurse did a great job with the surgery I needed, and I am really grateful I found them. Pricing is reasonable, and the office staff has been easy to work with and very nice. Since everything has gone so well, I feel comforable recommended this practice to my friends and family. This first started with my teenagers who were seen at the temple location. Told both had cavities but the doctor said he can't tend to them, they need to see a pediatric dentist. called a pediatric dentist, well multiple and was told because of their age they need to see a regular dentist... then I made an appointment with the temple office for April 18th. They called me a few days before and changed the date and location because the doctor was on vacation. Which fine whatever I kinda understand that. But I went to my appointment on April 26th and the sinking spring office. I was there for a cleaning and just a check. when I got there, they took me back and did X-rays, then proceeded to tell me I had periodontal disease, and that I needed a deep cleaning which required me to be put to sleep so they were not doing anything that day not even a generalized cleaning and then walked me to reception to get a "plan of treatment". Supposedly the person that does that was on lunch so that. Never happened. I was them gold she would call me when she returned with this plan for treatment and here we are in July, I have called both the sinking spring office and temple office multiple times and have no gotten a return call from either regarding this. Absolutely pathetic and unprofessional. dental hygiene is important to some people, and then we wonder why more and more people are losing their teeth, because of dentists like this!!!! read more

Don't expect them to keep appointments or to properly schedule an appointment. This was my second time trying to get a root canal and both times they scheduled me for something different. I don't understand how they're still in business... And I was a fool for coming back to them after what happened four years ago. My initial appointment they forgot I had insurance and booked me for a root canal on a day the endodontist wasn't there. The second appointment I booked for my root canal didn't happen because there was a miscommunication and they scheduled me for a consultation.... Something I already had done. Really can't recommend American Dental Services based upon a recent experience as a new patient. I have always taken care of my teeth and was under regular dental care. Based upon some x-rays and oral examination I left with over $2,000 in proposed treatment including a $900 teeth cleaning and replacement for every filling in my mouth with some new crowns thrown in. Really! I don't have a mouth full of trouble like they made it seem. I went in for a routine cleaning and still need one but not in Wyomissing! read more

Not so happy with my most recent visit there. Professionalism and privacy was completely violated. It's also super busy and it feels like a slaughterhouse. The Sinking Spring office is much better. Here is what happened: Had some dental work done a few weeks again. As a standard procedure, my blood pressure was taken. At first, it was sky high. After the dental work was completed, I went to the front desk to finalize the paperwork. There were 3 people working the desk. The one worker showed my high blood pressure results to the other 2 and they all laughed. This was also in front of another customer. At the time, my face was numb from the novacaine and I just didn't care. I didn't hit me until later how completely unprofessional, inconsiderate, and ethically unacceptable it was. I had a dental emergency over the weekend about a month ago. I was in contact with one of the call center girls named Amber, via email, who was just awesome. Got me a Monday morning appointment and was just great. Your office staff at your Wyomissing, Pa location was just so sweet. I seen Alexis and Angela who were also just so great. Was not a huge fan of the temp dentist but it's fine. Came back for an extraction a week later. The assistant and dentist (which I can't remember their names, probably due to my nerves! But I hope you can figure out who they were and just let them know) were just amazing. Above and beyond. They all really calmed my fear of dentists! Hands down the worst! Waited 2 hours and got nothing done! They then proceeded to try to reschedule me, and tell me I needed $$$$ worth of work when all I asked about was a cleaning! I was told I had gum disease and needed a special 600 dollar cleaning not covered by insurance. I thought this was odd since I have no sore gums or bleeding. Never brought up at any other dentist appointments there or elsewhere. I did not get that cleaning. Went to another dentist and I was correct. No gum disease. read more

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The office is clean. The parking usually isn't a problem. There are a few toys for children to play with. I never usually have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be seen. They are always able to get you in when needed. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Called over a week ago with a few legitimate complaints and concerns. I was assured my dental X-rays would be reviewed and a call returned by the manager. Needless to say, no return call or follow up from my complaints. This is not the first time I didn't receive a return call. I have went to both the Muhlenberg and Wyomissing locations. I felt completely scammed overall. Also, Jody is a very rough hygienist and forces products and services on you with little to no consideration of your opinion or how much out-of-pocket expenses they will entail (she literally argued with me about what my benefits would cover although I had just verified them prior to the visit). I was literally spitting pieces of gum tissue out after a cleaning by her only to be told my gums are now inflamed. I will definitely not be returning to American Dental for any further services. I've been here several times. The first, the hygienist was AWFUL, made my mouth so sore and her customer service needed some improvement. I went back and second time, new lady, different dentist. Both were pleasant and it was relatively painless. Next visit, I got the hard sell on replacing a crown when I couldn't say how long I'd had it. I had to be told pricing, even if I never intended to have the work done. Very used car salesman-like. This is the important part: healthy gums, no issues. This was 9 months ago. This visit, from this past Tuesday was a disaster and my very last to them. I've never had x-rays HURT SO MUCH. The film was was jammed into the roof of my mouth and I was told to close..I literally couldn't. So I took it out and said so, which earned me a "you just need to do it" reply. Several shots in, this time the ring the camera's aimed through was pressed against my eye! Many pokes and prods later, it was done. I commented my jaw was already sore and we hadn't gotten to the cleaning, which got me a "sucks to be you" sort of reply. She started poking my gums with the pick, which was extremely painful. She then wants to give me a mirror to watch her do this - when I said I understand what you're doing, it's very painful, I don't need to watch, just keep going - I got the "real" news: gum disease and bone loss, it was going to take deep scaling and antiobotics treatments. So you're telling me 9 months of daily flossing and brushing earned me gum disease? She was going to have the dentist confirm her "findings" and check for cavities. I said no, that's not going to happen, we're done. Got my coat and walked out. I should've known, when I checked in - the receptionist was cold and rude to an older lady, who'd just gotten dropped off by a medical transport bus. No greeting, no welcome - just, "it will be $105 today" and then told her that they "tried" to contact her about rescheduling. Just all around rude and some of the worst customer service I've seen. UPDATE (6/28/16): Today marks six weeks since the conversation below took place. So I have now been trying for 9 months to get back the $30 that I was overcharged. NINE MONTHS! A human being can be conceived and brought into this world more quickly than this business corrects its "mistakes." Maybe 9 months ago I believed that this issue was simply "overlooked." Maybe even 7 months ago I still believed that. But now? Not so much. Now it seems more like a game a shady business would play to try to get some extra money out of customers who aren't willing to start such a long and tedious chase. Now I know to stop anyone in their tracks who thinks they might want to consider giving this place their business. There's no way I'm the first to experience this. They're far too good at the game...conveniently not being in when I call...not returning my calls...telling me it'll be "4-5 weeks" each time they accidentally have to talk to me, in the hopes that 4-5 weeks later I'll have forgotten about it...yeah...not buying it. I would not recommend anyone go to American Dental in Wyomissing. I went in for a simple cleaning and left with a huge bill, tons of x-rays, and no cleaning. Such a big disappointment and a waste of over an hour of my time. I have shared my disappointment with them and they have not even reached out to try to make it right. read more

Two bad experiences in one week. I arrived 10 early for my appointment - then was told that the dental hygienist called and said she was not coming to work that day. I had not been told this before my appointment. They said they would "try to fit me in." So - I had an appointment, I arrived on time, and am told they will try to fit me in! Not a good start. Then I am given a few forms to fill out. One was an agreement from the patient to American Dental that if they arrived more than 10 minutes after their appointment time then they would have to have their appointment rescheduled. So, American Dental wants the patients to be courteous, but they don't feel they have any obligation to their patients. I waited almost 40 minutes after my appointment time for dental hygienist to be able to fit me in for my scheduled appointment. My appointment was to include xrays and cleaning, then a consult with the dentist. Because the dental hygienist I was scheduled with did not show up, they could only take the xrays since I was being "fit in" the schedule of another hygienist. I had to make another appointment for later in the same week to have my teeth cleaned. An inconvenience for me but not for American Dental - they charged me the basic office visit twice when it should have all been done in the one appointment I scheduled. I made an appointment for two days later for the cleaning and dentist consult. I arrived 15 minutes early and checked in at the reception desk and was then told to sit in the waiting room. I did that for 45 minutes (remember their patient late arrival policy - yep, does snot apply to their courtesy or consideration of a patient's time.) Finally, the hygienist came in an apologized. No one at the desk had told her I had arrived for my appointment and she was waiting for me. She said she even came to the front desk and asked if I had arrived and was not told I had. She made four more trips to the front desk and finally was told I was in the waiting room. So, her schedule was impacted and again, so was mine. I have a follow up appointment in 6 months. I'll arrive on time or ahead of time. If my appointment does not commence within the 10 minute time frame American Dental demands of their patients, then I will collect all my xrays and medical records and take my business elsewhere. Also, of note is that I received a survey from American Dental a few days after each of the two appointments and noted all I stated above. I don't believe they read the surveys. You would think a concerned office manager would have contacted me about this issue - they did not, so they either are not readying the surveys or just don't care about their patients. read more
