He came highly recommended and I had to be absolutely sure that I was in good hands since my face isn't something I could easily hide if anything were to go wrong. I've watched a lot of documentaries and shows having to do with botched procedures that has had me a bit paranoid and extremely cautious to say the least. I had three procedures done on May 31st of this year: a forehead reduction, a blepharoplasty (to get rid of the droopy skin in my upper lids), and a facelift (to get rid of my jowls, double chin, and the loose wrinkly skin on my neck). I didn't have a lot of fat under my chin but my saliva glands were disproportionately large in comparison to my face. They hung lower than my jawline, making it look like a double chin. Some years before my facelift, I tried Kybella injections to get rid of the unsightly bulge, with no avail. Dr Thompson was able to shave off the bottom portion of the glands creating a much more defined contoured appearance between my jawline and neck. Another thing I'm happy about is that I no longer have to spend tons of money on lash extensions and time getting creative with eyeshadow to hide the droopiness that made me look tired all of the time. Now, my eyes look awake and full of life (like they did when I was young). My forehead reduction is something I wanted since high school and it helps so much. I don't look like I have a receding hairline anymore. I am forever grateful and couldn't be happier with my results. That is of course a very important part. However, what you dont necessarily consider is all of the pre and post evaluations and care that are important to the surgery going well and the results being good for the long term. That is another area where Dr. Chidester is likely unmatched. He holds numerous pre and post op appointments. I remember when my wife told me about all of these extra appointments i thought, why does he want her to come back so much? I soon learned that was because he monitors the results constantly to check on how her body was responding to ensure they were not just excellent right after surgery, but for the long term. You dont really think about those types of issues. Additionally, from my understanding, most doctors do not provide such consistent after care. That is because it takes time for him to provide that type of care. He is losing out or delaying new consultations by providing that level of aftercare. When you are aware of how busy his office is, you realize that he is sacrificing money to provide the finest level of care. Overall, i am just highly impressed with dr chidester and his staff. From…read morea young age, I could never breathe solely through my nose, so I would pick at it until I had a perforation in my septum. Yes, I picked a hole in my nose... I know.... embarrassing....I had gone to see a highly rated ENT group in Seattle to try to fix what I thought was a deviated septum it and they determined they could not work on it, to which I was very frustrated at the time. At this point, I am glad they couldn't. I went to Dr. Fairbanks and he offers a different approach from any surgeon I have worked with. A thorough evaluation and explanation of the considered procedure, to where he even drew the anatomy of my nose to help my better visualize the procedure. (Apparently he does this for many of patients since his background is in artistic sculpting). Apparently one of my nostrils did not have any airflow to the turbinates (think air filters inside your nose that also protect against bacteria and infection) so he diagnosed that by operating and opening up my nostril to my turbinate, shaving them down rather than removing them (which is what many ENT's recommend), that it would dramatically increase airflow. It did! I have never been able to breath so clearly in my life and he also re-enforced my nose to protect against collapse from where I had picked as a kid. It is the first time I have ever been able to SOLELY breath through my nose! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! WORLD CLASS IN SLC!
