Only snafu for me was the club rental. They have nice new Calloway rental sets. They asked if I wanted senior clubs and I said yes. Unfortunately the senior clubs were some beat up old Titleists so stay away from those. The rangers did keep play moving which I greatly appreciated. Some people spend too much time and psychic energy bonding with their golf balls and slow down play. You will definitely lose a few balls on this course so just expect it, live with it and keep moving. With the thick vegetation and the meandering creek these balls are gone forever so just let them go. II'd play here again anytime!

I wish I could play golf on courses like this all the time. I typically play up at Cape Royale on Lake Livingston. No comparison. If you get a chance, spend the money and play golf in Colorado during the summer. All the courses I passed on 71 in the many ski resort towns looked very nice.

They have an entire campus and are very family-friendly, I could see a family spending their whole day here if they wanted to! Day passes here are such a great value ($25 per adult and $10 per child over 5) regardless if you're a YMCA member elsewhere. The pass included the following with no extra fee for rentals: tubing, ice skating, roller skating. We also could have paid extra for climbing wall ($6), archery ($6), flat tire bikes ($20), etc...but you have to schedule that ahead of time. I was really glad we came here because it was plenty of entertainment for the family and we didn't have to plan how long we'd do each activity because there were so many options all in the same campus. If you were to go tubing elsewhere it would cost $30 per person PER HOUR, so I'm glad we came here instead where there wasn't a limit to how long we did the activity for. You have to sign waiver forms first and you can pick two different sizes for tubes. You'll have to take the tubes back up the hill yourself so keep that in mind if you have little ones or are planning to do this activity first vs. last.

But the lodgings have become increasingly disgusting in the last few years. We stayed in one of the cabins. You could smell the pet urine when you walk in. The bathroom floors were stained ?? and obviously not mopped. The carpets dusty. The microwave started to actually spark. We called the front desk for someone to come take a look or replace it...no one came. Needless to say, we left earlier than planned. It's obvious that the cabins have been neglected. I understand and empathize that there is a staffing shortage. But - Next year, we'll get more comfortable, cleaner lodgings in Fraser/winter park.

What really made this trip stand out was staying in a condo in Basecamp One. The ski-in/ski-out access was incredibly convenient and added such an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to the whole experience. Being able to step right out and onto the mountain (and back again) made everything feel that much more relaxed and enjoyable. The resort itself has such a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere, making it perfect for families, beginners, or anyone who just wants to enjoy skiing without the pressure of more intense terrain. The slopes are wide, well-groomed, and especially friendly for first-time or casual skiers--you can really take your time and enjoy yourself. The bistro was another highlight once again--the food is excellent and far better than what you might expect from a typical ski resort. It's the perfect place to warm up and recharge. The vibe across the mountain is always a good time. There's great music playing, and you can hear the sounds of wintertime fun all around--laughter, skis carving through snow, and that lively energy that makes a day on the mountain so special. If you're not a regular skier or just want to avoid risking bodily injury on more challenging runs, Granby Ranch is absolutely the place to go. I have been skiing my whole life and have had Crested Butte on my list to ski for some time. I am glad that I finally made my way over here to ski their slopes. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is owned and operated by Vail Resorts. My buddy and I have Epic Passes and chose to ski here this past winter. This resort is geared toward intermediate to expert skiers as there are lots of blue and black runs. Overall, we had good snow and a fun weekend. We started our day off by taking Red Lady Express Lift from Base Area. We spent a lot of our time hitting the intermediate runs off of Paradise Express Lift. We eventually hit some black runs off of Silver Queen Express Lift. We didn't do it, but Rambo run is the steepest tree-defined ski trail in North America with a 55-degree pitch. That run looks insane. Crested Butte Mountain Resort opened in 1960. We stayed in town near the base of the resort and had a lot of fun. We were able to walk to the lift from our hotel. Crested Butte is a former coal mining town that is a popular tourist destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Mount Crested Butte is in the heart of the Elk Mountains and sits over 9,000 feet above sea level. The town is named after its iconic 12,168-foot mountain peak. You can see the peak while you ski from almost anywhere on the mountain.

Approximately 40% of skiing trails are marked as Double Black Diamond Extreme, so if you're looking for the most challenging terrain, then this is the place for you! But even if you're not an "advanced expert," then there are still plenty of runs that you can take it easy on... or that will push you to keep on learning and getting better! Of all the Vail Resorts, I feel like the Crested Butte team was the friendliest and most welcoming. Definitely try to plan your trip to Crested Butte for when they're getting some fresh powder, as most of the runs will be even more enjoyable! *****FIVE STARS*****
