BEWARE OF BILLING PRACTICES! I had an annual checkup, received my bill, and paid it. Then I received another bill for a "nasal endoscopy" which was more than my checkup. When I inquired about the additional charge, I was told that looking in my nose was not included in the annual checkup because they used a device with a light. WHAT? How is looking in my nose NOT included as part of an annual allergy checkup? The doctor spent 2 seconds looking in each nostril and they charged me an additional $387!!!! VERY SKETCHY BILLING PRACTICES. After 4 years, I will never go back, nor recommend. The response below clearly shows they are fully aware of what they are doing. Not informing a patient that simply looking in your nose will be considered a separate charge and not giving that patient the full knowledge that they can refuse it BEFORE it is done IS deceptive and wrong. I have been a patient at Aspire Allergy & Sinus (South Austin) since 2022, and unfortunately my experience has been a range of excellent medical care and extremely frustrating care, billing and communication issues. On the positive side, I underwent sinus procedures with Dr. Thompson, and those results remain excellent after 3+years. However, my allergy treatment experience has been a completely different story. After testing positive to 55 out of 60 common Central Texas allergens, I spent three years on allergy drops with little to no improvement. During that time, I made numerous office visits and so many calls to the nurse line because I continued to struggle with significant symptoms. Most of the recommendations seemed to involve trying additional OTC antihistamines or yet another prescription nasal spray, including one that cost me $125 out of pocket. The only provider who consistently seemed invested in finding solutions and showed genuine concern for my situation was Dr. Overstreet. After three years without meaningful improvement, I decided to try Aspire's eXACT treatment. I paid $2,500 out of pocket because I was told insurance would not cover it. My understanding was that this fee covered three treatment sessions and a follow-up appointment three months after last shot. I was also told that if the treatment was unsuccessful, the series could be repeated at NO additional charge. This made the cost a little more bearable. My eXACT treatment appointments were paid for and all 4 were scheduled in advance during my annual visit in October 2025. I completed the series in January, and attended my follow-up appointment in April 2026 specifically to discuss whether the treatment had been successful. Unfortunately, I experienced no relief and actually endured one of my worst allergy seasons yet. During that follow-up visit with Anna Wendel, we discussed repeating the treatment at a higher dose. Because of symptoms I described, the provider wanted to rule out asthma before proceeding, so I was asked to complete a breathing test. At no point was I informed that this test would result in additional charges to me or my insurance company. I was shocked when I later saw a claim submitted to my insurance for more than $500 and then I received a bill from Aspire for approximately $160. When I contacted billing, Bailey was professional, helpful, and responsive. However, after reviewing the situation with the clinic, I was told that the visit had been coded as a problem-focused visit rather than the follow-up appointment that had been scheduled 6 months in advance as part of my treatment plan. I was promised a call from the office manager to discuss the situation. Almost a month later, I have yet to receive that call. Over the past 3+ years, I have spent well over $15,000 between insurance payments and out-of-pocket costs pursuing relief through Aspire. What disappoints me most is NOT that a treatment failed--medicine is not guaranteed--but that I was charged for services that I reasonably understood to be part of a pre-arranged treatment follow-up, and when I questioned it, communication stopped. I had my last shot today from the 2nd round of treatment and will never return to Aspire, nor will I pay a fraudulent invoice. I would not be writing this review if someone had simply addressed the concern, and admitted to the mistake in the coding of my visit and the billing of my insurance company when this was all marketed as covered in the $2500 eXACT one time fee. IMO these exude unprofessional and fraudulent behaviors. I encourage prospective patients to thoroughly research both the clinical and billing experiences (specifically BBB & Google reviews) before committing to long-term treatment at Aspire, as I am now learning this seems to be a normal practice of incorrect billing and ignoring their patient's calls. read more

After spending 4 years in Austin, I finally succumbed to the ridiculous allergy management that has to happen if you want to breathe. I chose this location because it's conveniently located by my home and overall, I've been very happy with the care I've received. The first appointment was long and arduous but necessary for the allergy testing and subsequently, all my follow-up, weekly injection appointments have been seamless. If doing immunotherapy (injections) you just walk-in during the posted hours, fill out a quick Google form, and get your shots. You do have to wait 30 minutes before you can leave and it can get busy so if possible it's best to try to plan your visit not during lunchtime hours when it can be busier. The staff are friendly and helpful and try their best to make you comfortable when in reality you feel a bit like a pin cushion. Overall, if you're an allergy sufferer and need support, this is a good option. I also have terrible insurance coverage but have been pleasantly surprised by the copays considering I do have to come in once a week for the immunotherapy. read more

It's been 5 years since I've moved to Austin, and my allergies haven't gotten any better. They've become so severe that they often lead to infections lasting weeks. Despite seeing multiple providers, including an ENT specialist, I haven't found any effective treatments. I called to schedule a new patient appointment and was able to be seen within the week. I met with the physician assistant, Marilyn, who recommended a skin prick test in order to try one of the three allergy treatments offered. However, the test alone costs $700 with insurance/a deductible. As a short term solution, Marilyn suggested a steroid shot for the time being cautioning against its long-term use due to potential severe side effects (ie: ulcers, cataracts, and osteoporosis). Austin clinic-The staff at this clinic lack professionalism, one of the staff recognized my husband, who is a patient while taking her kid trick or treating and yelled out "oh you were at the clinic today getting your shots". What happened to HIPPA?? He really didn't need the whole neighborhood knowing his medical problems. They consistently forget about him after supposedly "monitoring" him after his shot. I told him to set a timer himself so he can go let them know his time is up. He gets frustrated because they call patients who checked in after him first. After about 3 patients he has to go ask if they forgot about him, so then they all of a sudden call him back but make excuses the whole time. Now the excuse is that they are shorthanded but the one who called him back just spent her time talking about her weekend. I told him to look for a different Allergy clinic. read more

BEWARE - My wife used Aspire for allergy shots. They overbilled her and we have been trying for several months to talk to someone about this. We have called and left messages, used the chat feature and even sent an email to the hello@aspireallergy.com (as was suggest by their office manager(?) and have received no response. We do not recommend using them because if you have any issues, they will not return calls or respond to any attempts to contact them. read more

I went in for testing back in July. The testing took 3+ hours and that length was unexpected. Not only did I have to do the prick test but had to do 50+ INDIVIDUAL syringes for this testing. This experience was bad enough without the inexperienced tech asking me creepy questions, ie. "where do you live", "do you have a boyfriend". I did cancel my follow up appt. but was charged for prepping the shots even through I canceled well ahead of the appt. time:/. The waiting area was also dirty and crowded and the patients in the office to receive shots seemed to be waiting quite a long time. Shots require a 2-5 year commitment and a weekly or bi-weekly visit. Think hard about where you'd like to spend this time. I have found another doctor and do have to go through the process of re-testing. Try elsewhere. read more

Thank you again. ----------------- I had a wonderful visit when I went to get tested for my allergies, it was very expensive however - and the doctor and I decided on the drops instead of shots for me. He said it would take 1-2 weeks to get them, and i paid about $200 for the drops alone (don't even ask me how much the visit was). They were to be delivered to my mailbox after they were made. I check every day for the drops and don't ever get them. 3 weeks goes by, so i call to check in on my drops and see what was taking so long (I have terrible allergies that keep me from doing every day things, cause me to throw up, etc. which is why I spent about $1000 out of pocket to go to this business). The lady on the phone tells me "Oh it looks like they were delivered already, you didn't get them??" And i tell her, "No, i've been checking every day!" She says, "Okay, I can send them out again. Usually we have to charge you again but i will waive it this time! Make sure you check your mailbox!!" so that's a little frustrating but Okay i've got them coming again. Good! She tells me it's going to be 5-10 business days, so i ask for the tracking number to ensure that I keep my eye on the drops and they don't get lost again. Apparently they don't offer tracking for these drops, which is incredibly frustrating seeing as they are $200 packages, and they threaten to charge you again if you don't receive them. But Okay, even that I can deal with. so a few days comes around, not quite 5, but i wanted to call and check that they did actually ship. so I call and the woman i speak to this time says "It looks like we didn't receive the prescription from the DR (at aspire) until Sept 10th and that was the first time we got it." (My visit was on 8/24) This frustrated me for a number of reasons. My allergies are so terrible that I spent a huge amount trying to help treat them, was promised it'd be 2 weeks max of waiting for these drops. Then the lady at the pharmacy/wherever (their pharmacy is part of Aspire), the first time, not only lied to me that they were delivered and i must have missed them, but threatened to charge me about $200 again! and then when i called a few days later I'm told the doctor never sent my prescription until i called to follow up on it over three weeks after my visit. It wouldn't be so bad, nor would I choose to write a review, if I wasn't having debilitating allergies. Great customer service and attention! Today I went for an allergy test and I was super nervous at the idea of being pricked 60-100 times. But they were very welcoming, friendly, and the location was clean. Doctor and PA were knowledgable and answered all of my questions. I got to watch half a movie on Netlfix (yes they have that while you're waiting for the results!) It's a little uncomfortable/painful getting pricked, but not as bad as I thought (I'm a cryer and I didn't cry!) so I'm sure this is worth it. I first came here in March 2017 after going into Anaphylactic Shock. I started getting my allergy shots in May 2017 and I have seen a lot of improvement since then. In fact, I went to ACL without being out sick for days after. The staff (especially Ellie) always make sure I feel at home. They speak to me with kindness and are always here to help. I had a great experience at Texan Allergy on William Cannon! LaToya performed my testing and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout - she is truly wonderful! Ellie at the front desk was patient and explained everything in detail. She also sent me a friendly reminder email to send pics of my insurance card because I grabbed the wrong one on my way to my appointment. Ahead of my appointment I was contacted by the billing department, so I knew ahead of time exactly what my out-of-pocket cost would be. I even opted out of a "sinus scope" option because it was an additional cost and all I wanted was the dermal allergy testing. It was just nice knowing ahead of time what to expect. Kyle came in and spoke to me between testing about my options and my results. I had done my research and chose Texan Allergy because I knew I wanted to do drops over shots and knew they offered that option (I've done shots in the past, wanted the convenience of drops). All in all, the availability of Netflix in the room while I was being tested and the company of LaToya totally made my visit comfortable and enjoyable (considering how much you're being poked...). Good location and very welcoming staff. Before my first visit, the receptionist happily answered all of my payment questions. I was seen on-time for each of my appointments. Nurse practitioner really took her time explaining everything (allergy test and treatment) and thoroughly answered all of my questions. She even referred me to some clinical studies so I could do my own research. Was really nice being able to watch Netflix during the allergy test. Highly recommend this clinic if you suffer from allergies! Tip: They have a referral program. If you refer a friend (not immediate family), they'll mail you a gift card for $100. Awesome!! read more

I did my environmental allergy testing at the beginning of June and Texan Allergy provided an awesome experience! From the moment you enter the office you are welcomed with complimentary water, coffee, and snacks! The testing requires you hang out in a room and wait for your reaction to different allergens, they bring you water and check in frequently to make sure you're doing okay! They also have Netflix set up in the rooms to keep you occupied as your arm starts to itch! I came back today to pick up my first dosage of the drops and was not surprised to find another awesome visit! The staff is super friendly and they also included a fun t-shirt with my first set of drops! Easily a 5 star experience! read more

I visited Texan allergy and got allergy tests done. I had been having lots of ENT-related issues. Their results showed i was allergic to about 85% of the things they tested me for. I was shocked, however I decided to go visit my ENT doctor. After i told him that i had testing done at Texan allergy he suggested I redo the test because he did not trust them based on other patients' experiences. He suggested I see a "real" allergy doctor (because at Texan allergy you are typically seen by a nurse or PA). I took his advice, went to see an allergy doctor who redid the allergy tests. Tested me for the same things. Turns out I was only allergic to dogs. I wasn't allergic to anything. I'm glad i never responded to Texan Allergy wanting me to start taking allergy drops or to participate in their experimental testing. It's honestly disappointing to have to write this review about a "medical provider". read more

I moved and was considering switching allergists. I had a very short consultation at this practice, about potential allergy testing and immunotherapy. The medical assistant got my history incorrect which was a little frustrating, but the PA was very nice. We discussed my allergies and I decided to not move forward with switching allergists. A few months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I had a nasal endoscopy and that I owe $250 after insurance. I figured this was just a mistake, so I made many attempts to call the office and get it sorted out. It was really challenging to get ahold of the billing department. They stated, "oh we have to look over the notes" and asked if I had a camera with a light put in my nose. I stated I've had this procedure at an ENT and it most certainly didn't happen during my consultation. I haven't heard back from the billing department after this conversation and at this point, I'm starting to assume some sort of insurance fraud is going on here. My next steps will be to hire a lawyer and contact my insurance about the matter, considering they covered ~ $100 of a procedure that never happened. read more

I visited yesterday for allergy testing, and the entire experience was good. I've done allergy shots in the past, but fell off the wagon because of the time commitment and the annoyance of shots. I figured it was time to try out allergy drops, and I will get my first batch of them in about a week. I should mention that I have bronchitis at the moment, and the doctor who saw me was very concerned about the way my lungs sounded - she didn't try to rush me through the process of allergy testing, and took the time to listen to my lungs several times, and gave me some valuable advice about keeping my lungs healthy. I really appreciated that she was concerned about my overall health, not just about getting me tested and on my way. The testing process, naturally, is not a comfortable one. They do the scratch test method on both of your forearms, and you itch horribly for a while, but you can watch Netflix while you sit there. Then they single out the items you're allergic to (in my case, almost all of them, apparently), and do another test on your upper arm where they inject a small amount of the allergen (a little bubble forms under the skin, like you're getting tested for tuberculosis). This part was not comfy either, but a necessary evil, and once again, Netflix can be watched. I don't have any experience at other locations for Texan Allergy, but I would definitely recommend this location. If anything wonky happens with the allergy drops, I will come back to update my review. If wonderful things happen with the allergy drops, I will do the same. read more

This place is wonderful! The staff is exceptional from the front desk receptionist, Ellie, to the Medical Assistants Brenda, Bren and LaToya. Scheduling is fast and easy and done on a monthly basis, If you opt for the weekly allergy shots. Sublingual drops are also an alternative which ship directly to your home or can be available for pick-up. I am definitely noticing a change in my allergies and their symptoms and it's all thanks to these fabulous people! The Keurig machine (with multiple pod options, including chai) and wheat-free snacks available really help to soothe a gal during waiting room time! DO NOT use them! Note that their name has Allergists under it. Definition of Allergist is as follows: A physician specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. FIRST, there is no doctor on staff. Not at the south Austin location anyway. SECOND, I was given absolutely no help after having an adverse reaction that ended with me in an ER after starting the drops at home on a Thursday. I got no phone call back and neither did the ER doctor. Could be because they have no actual doctors on staff with Texan Allergy. When I showed up at their office on a Monday to show them I was covered in a rash and to tell them I had to go to an ER, they didn't even offer me an option to see their PA. I found that interesting AND yet disturbing. After that, I called an ACTUAL allergy doctors office to tell them what happened and was seen right away WITHOUT an appointment. A doctors office that had never seen me before was concerned enough over the phone to say YES, get in here right away. Real allergy doctors know that reactions can be life threatening. When I tried to see a doctor at Texan Allergy, I was told there wasn't one "available" and the receptionist said she would tell a nurse about it and I would get a call back. So the nurse calls me back to make a "suggestion" that I continue with the drops at half the dose!! Really? I am supposed to listen to a nurse give me medical advise over the phone after having an allergic reaction to what they gave me? She was not AT ALL concerned about my trip to the ER. I am guessing because maybe many of their patients break out in head to toe rashes after they use the drops they are given. I still have the drops and have been advised to have an independent lab test done to tell me what it is they gave me. Texan Allergy has not yet provided a break down of what allergens they put in those drops so that the lab can confirm or deny what is in them. This happened TWO years ago. After two years of not hearing from them, I receive a bill for $775.00. No explanation, NOTHING. I called my insurance company and they told me that they asked them for more information the week after my initial visit (two years ago) and that Texan Allergy didn't provide the information until January of THIS YEAR. Texan Allergy of course says it's the insurance company's fault and that THEY were the ones waiting for information from the insurance company. Now call me crazy or stupid, but if I was waiting on information from an insurance company on a claim, I wouldn't wait TWO YEARS for it. I would be fired from my job in accounting if I didn't follow up on something to resolve at the end of a fiscal year. Guess they don't keep books either. PEOPLE, do not believe what you hear on the radio or other ads about them. Further investigation of this COMPANY might clue you in to who they aren't. Go to a REAL medical facility with actual licensed medical staff that can treat you should you react to whatever it is they are giving you. Seriously, don't mess around with your life. Oh and if you believe they can help you and start the drop therapy anyway, have an EPI PEN near by because Texan Allergy won't be able to help you. I am guessing they may not even call 911, so have your phone nearby as well. read more

This was my first time with allergy testing. I thought the staff did a great job of explaining what to expect as well as the test results. They even brought me snacks and water to make sure I wasn't woozy after so many pokes. I am skeptic.Very kind staff. Made testing as comfortable as can be. Got in touch when I had further questions. Cons: they do not thoroughly explain things to you and I got the feeling they are just a drop factory. Very nonchalant about a long and expensive commitment. The info I got was after I basically interviewed them hit by hit for it...they never told me they added 2 allergens that I had tested negative for into my drop perscription (based on my detailed symptom narrative). I found out bc I asked specifically what was in it. I went ahead and made the order over the phone n specifically asked for a list of the allergens within to be ready for me upon pickup. They were not. Then they explained to me that it is 3 drops a day, not one. What? After all this you failed to mention that??? Seriously? That impacts my life for 3 years at least.
