They are loving, caring, helpful, supportive and very friendly. They have helped support me through my hardest moments and always are willing to work with me no matter what obstacle has come my way. Their homes are beautiful and comfortable. The therapists are so caring and really listen to what you have to say. I have been to a few treatment centers and of all I give this one the 5 stars it deserves. Take a chance to read the reviews from ex employees, that will tell you a lot. Living there was a nightmare, the houses are ruled by the most dominant addict in the house. I could go on and on about some of the crazy things that I went through there but I'll leave that to other reviewer 's or maybe send in a part two. What made me reach out was receiving a bill from them for $400.00 six days before my one year anniversary of sobriety, a little anniversary present for me...so bad. Just remember it's all about the money, that is all they really care about. Be careful, ask questions and prepare for the worst.

I was suffering from Sciatic nerve pain that felt like a toothache in my leg! It also got worse…read moreevery time I got a vaccination, which is about every month nowadays. I had trouble getting treatment because of COVID, and could just manage to use the hot tub at the local gym for its soothing relief. I finally got a new doctor at UCLA and got recommended to Movement for Life Physical Therapy. This was the first and least invasive step for treatment, and has proved a great success. Matt first prescribed a series of exercises to strengthen the muscles around the area, and this helped increase flexibility and movement. When the exercises got painful, he realigned my hip socket and amazingly, the electric shock like pain I had in my leg was gone. This was about two weeks ago, and I am happy to say that the pain has not returned, so I am a happy camper. Every one I have encountered there has been upbeat, and helpful! It is a spacious, modern facility, and there is always a lot of parking. Movement for Life is located near the SLO airport, and is convenient to Route 227, a main thoroughfare into or out of town. I mention this because my previous PT was at a facility in the middle of SLO, where you had to wait to park, then dart for Highway 101 in the hopes of avoiding rush hour.

Very knowledgeable, caring and informative group. Colleen Russell and her staff are fantastic!read more

As a mental health professional myself, I know what success and transformation looks like in clients. And granted the client had to be willing and be active to make the treatment work, which partially didn't happen with our family member. But for a program that was supposed to be a dual diagnosis program they failed. After $7500 out of our own pocket, plus everything they billed insurance my family member never quit using the entire time they were in the 3 month program and the professionals there couldn't even see that they were coming to treatment high. I myself attended a family evening event and was less than impressed and felt I was contributing more than the facilitator. If you want paint and yoga therapy to distract from the real issues then this is your place. If you want results show your family member you want to really help them and send them to the Haven instead. My family member is a completely different person after 30 days there and thriving. Balance was a waste of time and money.

From the nurses and occupational therapists to the physical therapists, aides, and custodial staff...everyone was so friendly and positive. When she arrived she was limited to lying in bed and using a bed pan. The OT and PT did not let that stop them. From the first day their goal was getting her back to her life at home. They were supportive, encouraging, and pushed just enough to keep her progress always moving forward without pushing her too hard or making her feel discouraged. The facility is clean (due to the constant diligent work of the custodial staff) and truly feels more like a home than a hospital. My mother was able to sit out in the "Living Area" and interact with other residents and nurses. Every room has a window and exterior door with natural light and a view of the outside. This was important for my mom. The food was good and residents have an option from a daily menu so they can make choices for themselves of what they can eat. The Physical Therapy room was well equipped and large enough to accommodate multiple people. After my mom's hip surgery I was so worried about leaving her in an unknown facility with strangers and nothing but time to kill while her hip healed. After the first few days she was so upbeat when I visited and had nothing but positive reviews of all of the nurses and staff that I felt so thankful and appreciative of these amazing human beings who were caring for my mom. A few shout-outs to Raquel, Nellie, Cree, Vonique, Laura (PT), Louise (OT), and others whose names I can't recall but their care of my mom was no less! I cannot say enough great things about San Luis Transitional Care. There is not a thing I can criticize. Every person who dealt with my mom the last 8 weeks is an angel in my book. Thank you to Compass Health for hiring such professionals who truly care for their residents.

Her consistent support has really helped me get traction and start in on my long-term biz and professional goals (mainly what I'm working on), and also helped me shift my dating habits, which has been fun! She uses a lot of different tools in our sessions - hypnotherapy, guided imageray, energy adjusting techniques, coaching. She has an amazing ability to get right to the root of my issues. I like how she's grounded and very practical, matter-of-fact about things, but also really caring and reassuring. I always feel super relieved and lighter/clearer after our sessions, like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders and replaced with confidence and clarity of purpose/action - so, I obviously recommend her! :)

Those nagging thoughts you know...they never quite all go away. But these sessions are surely going to keep them quiet for a while.
