I was running a little late to my appointment as I was coming from downtown area after work, I called at my appointment time to explain I was running 10-15 min late and was told to come, I explained how late I would be, then when I arrive they say Dr Knudsen is already in with the next patient. I offered to wait and then they said she would have to leave right after. First off, they could have explained that when I called and saved me the stone oak traffic I was in, and second how was she ever going to see both patients?! Me and my wife have had a horrible experience with the finance part of Aspire. We decided to call it quits after spending over 6 grand with no luck. We applied for the loan but did not get my wife to the pregnancy stage yet, and they had already taken the funds from lending club(15 grand). We told them we didn't want to continue and they told us they would not send the money back until we paid off our debt of 3k. So we paid it off and they said they would return the money within 3 days and it has been over 3 months. I've had multiple calls from lending club and have been calling aspire to send the money back as we did not wish to proceed any further. For a company that works with in close relationships with lending club, this has been an ongoing nightmare. I don't know how aspire can be so dishonest and unprofessional towards a customer who has paid them their money and don't wish to hold their end of the deal and return the money to lending club. This is a piss poor example of a company that doesn't care about its people, and has horrible dishonest work ethic. Never going to them again. Fucking dishonest thieves. read more

If I could leave ZERO stars I would. I have had the absolute worst experience with this clinic. Not only did I have two miscarriages under their care, they did nothing to prevent or help this issue. I'm addition, getting in contact with anyone at this clinic is nearly impossible! I've emailed the doctor directly, messaged the portal, and called countless times where I spoke directly with people/left voicemails. On top of that, I have had to fight and plead to get MY PERSONAL medical records released to me. I am now crying daily trying to get my husbands lab results for 6 weeks now after being told I would receive them in 2-3 weeks. Thankfully, I was warned by other clinics on what to expect with this with Aspire. This journey is already mentally and emotionally tolling, dealing with bad customer service is even worse. read more

I have been trying to make an appointment for a month now. Every time I call it's a long hold before you eventually give up and leave a message. Only for a "call back request" or message to be answered two days later. They told me my appointment was time sensitive but never answered the call so I can make my appointment. Very very frustrating. And if you need a sperm assessment. Hope you know what to leave for a voicemail because the automated system just sends you to a mailbox that Just says leave a message. What a joke! Back in 2011, my husband and I went in for a second opinion after our first attempts at a different facility didn't work. They had us go to an "orientation" about the clinic that was like an infertility version of a time share sales pitch! They absolutely push IVF so be prepared if you thought you might go in for IUI or other simpler and less expensive procedures, they will steer you to IVF right off the bat. Like someone else mentioned, i told them what I had been diagnosed with by other specialists and what medications I was taking for that. Without any testing first, they disagreed with the diagnosis and told me to stop taking those medications. And yes, you do get bounced around doctors depending on who is available when you are there. How does that provide effective treatment when a few people know a little about your case instead of one person knowing a lot? Today, 2016 (do the math!) they sent me a bill for an outstanding balance of $1,000 for sperm preservation. I called and they said we pre-paid for the first year and now this is what we owe since then. What sort of bull***t policy is that??? If I paid you for a year, keep them for a year. Or at least contact me and ask if I want to continue storage-- how can you go ahead and store without my permission or acknowledgement and then send me a bill for a decision YOU made without me? And needless to say, none of the procedures we tried there worked (we didn't buy into their IVF package). And it's the only doctor's office I've ever been to - EVER- where they can't find my veins for a blood draw. Bruises, switching hands, switching to feet even!! Yet they tell me it's MY fault, I have tiny veins. So strange how no one else has any problems when doing a blood draw. Don't waste time and money with these jokers. When we were going there, none of the doctors were US-trained, all were foreign-trained, and the place was started by a Mexican doctor. Now I wonder about the whole thing when I put all the pieces together. There are better clinics out there that really care about YOU as a patient and your infertility issues, not just your money. read more

My husband and I found ourself at RMA after two failed experiences at other fertility clinics. One clinic was completely disorganized and never answered phones or returned calls. The other other clinic felt like a cattle call and we felt like a number in a huge sea of patients. There was no personal attention or plan for our protocol. As soon, as we went to RMA for the first time, we felt very comfortable and excited about our fertility plan. Dr. Balthazar and the nurses were always smiling and answered all of our questions whether it be through phone or email. Everyone here would always call us by our first name when we would walk in and made us feel very at home. I always felt like my protocol was something that the doctor had thought long and hard about and she was trying to give me the best possible outcome. We also felt like every time we came in that we were looking forward to our appointments. If you've ever had to go through fertility treatment, you want to be somewhere where you feel comfortable and excited to be. Dr. Balthazar was always extremely positive, upbeat, welcoming, and kept us informed. The day we graduated and had to go to a regular obstetricians office because we did get pregnant, both my husband and I were very sad to leave. My husband and I were referred to Dr. Francisco Arredondo by my OBGYN after experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. Since we were both about to be in our mid thirties, my OBGYN thought that it was a good idea to have our reproductive health checked. The staff was very friendly and professional. We didn't wait long at all due to the medical history being taken on their online portal several days prior to the visit. My husband and I immediately felt at ease after meeting Dr. Arredondo. He was very down to earth and easy going. He did extremely well with explaining everything to us. (I'm in the medical field so I was pretty familiar with everything that he was saying but my husband on the other hand needed things to be explained in further detail.) He used medical terms followed by layman terms which we both really appreciated. He really took his time and was very through in his assessment. Once all of the different test results came back, we were told that reproductive wise, we were completely healthy and could continue to try to conceive again and that if we had any issues, we were welcome to see him again. Fast forward 4 months and here I am about 4 weeks into my pregnancy!!! My overall experience with Dr. Arredondo was very pleasant given the circumstances. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone that is experiencing fertility issues or is wanting to check their reproductive health. read more

Well, what can I say? A fertility clinic is not exactly a place that you want to find yourself needing to go, but we needed it, and I'm glad we had RMA. Dr. Arrenando and his team were fabulous. At first, I couldn't help but enter their office in a bad mood, a pity-party ("Why me?!"). The staff is so sensitive and positive. Dr. A met with my husband and I in a very thorough meeting, in which he answered all of our questions and put our minds at ease. We still laugh about Dr. A saying,"If you're serious, we are serious... One year, BIG belly! I promise". Fertility treatments require frequent visits to the office. The staff was accommodating and the office opens very early so you can get in and get out before work or on your lunch break. Not all fertility treatments are covered by insurance, but they do provide payment plans and support. Needless to say, one year= big belly, worked for us. I know that it doesn't for all hopeful couples, but we are so blessed to have had RMA at our backs. They made us feel so comfortable and hopeful. I would recommend them to any couples in this difficulty position. read more

Our experience at RMA was AWFUL! I have been seeing an RE and diagnosed with an infertility issue. The reason we went to RMA was for a second opinion and to hear the cost of their treatments (injectables & IVF). We waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and were then brought back, only to sit on a couch in the hallway with other waiting couples. They took my vitals, weight etc. right there in the hallway in front of everyone else. At this point I was already turned off. We waited more...... Once we went back to see the doctor it continued to go downhill. We had all our medical records, test results, diagnosis results etc. sent over from my other doctor. He had not looked at a single one and knew nothing about me or our situation. Very frustrating!! When I told him what i had been diagnosed with, the dr. did not even know what I was talking about (I am sorry, but if you are an RE and specialize in infertility, you would know what I have been diagnosed with and the standard treatment for such). This was a BIG RED FLAG!! The rest of the appointment kept getting worse, he gave us some very different success statistics than from our other doctor and didn't seem confident at all in what he was talking about. After our appointment, we were to talk with the nurse and get our treatment plan, so we were shoved into a little room the size of a closet (seriously, it used to be a closet) and were told completely different information that what the doctor had told us. By this point my husband is fuming mad and I am on the verge of tears. We told the nurse that she needed to go consult with the doctor before she told us any other wrong information. At this point I just wanted to get out as fast as we could. Onto the check out where again we were met with a totally naive and uneducated employee. Once again we were told completely different info that the doctor and then told that they did not have financing available (the doctor told us they did). That was the last straw, my husband picked up the paper, said a few choice words on the top of his lungs so the whole office could here and then we left. Tears streaming down my face and a furious husband, made for a very awful weekend. Needless to say, we never returned, never received a phone call to clear up an incident. Not impressed RMA, not impressed. Going to stick to our first doctor, who is confident, educated, organized, and going to to his best to help us! My advice... DO NOT GO TO RMA!!! read more

My husband and I have had an amazing experience with Dr. Browne from RMA. I request to only see Dr. Browne so am unfamiliar with the other doctors, and sometimes have to travel btn the offices but it is well worth it. We started out as patients at Fertility Center of San Antonio and left on a recommendation from a friend when we wanted a second opinion. I found Dr. Neal's bedside manner horrendous in comparison. Dr. Browne was supportive and gave us info on newer techniques we could look into, Dr. Neal did none of those things. Also, if you're looking for egg donors don't even bother with Fertility Center. They sit you in a conference room to look thru their binder of 7 people. At RMA they are part of a national network and have an amazing local network. Plus everything is online so you are able to look in the privacy of your home and take your time. I would recommend RMA to anyone! read more

This is the first review I have ever left on Yelp, but I feel obligated to share how awful this establishment is. The staff has absolutely zero interest in the patient or results. Every visit we were treated like an inconvenience. Trying to get facetime with the Dr was borderline impossible. Charges are outrageous and with fees associated with everything even basic questions. Our time as patients was limited as we quickly realized this facility is a complete money grab. After moving to a new fertility clinic our current Doctor has commented several times at how odd the practices were at Aspire. "Interesting I have never heard of anything like that before." THEY FAILED TO INFORM ME I WAS A CARRIER FOR A GENETIC DISORDER. The quality of staff reflects the standards of the doctors running the facility. That's where their problems begin. I felt very rushed through the entire process, like everyone else knew what was going on, but since this was my first time discovering that my husband and I had fertility issues, no one really took the time to really explain the process at each visit. On several visits my husband or I were cut off by Dr. B when we were asking questions or explaining something. By the time we actually got to performing the IUI, I had already had an uncomfortable feeling, but since I had nothing to compare it to, I tried to push it out of my mind. On the day of my IUI, as you can imagine, I was very nervous. The procedure went well enough, and the MA told me to lay there for 10 minutes to allow the sperm to enter the fallopian tubes. I tried to cover my eyes and I didn't pay attention to the time because she put an alarm and it would let me know when to get up. I heard the beep and I thought it was early, but I got up and started getting dressed. I was almost finished when I heard another beep and looked at the wall, it flashed 3 minutes and was counting backwards! Apparently, it had a warning bell at 5 min and 7 min. I got scared and went back to lay down on the table, then the 10 min alarm sounded off, and I finally got up. I wish someone had informed me about this, but as with the rest of my experience it had been rushed and there was little attention to detail. I left the room and went to check-out, everything had already been paid for, but I wanted to get a copy of all my lab work to show my PCP. I took the copy and went to my car and looked it over quickly. Right on the first page, there it was, "Carrier For Cystic Fibrosis and CFTR-Related Disorders." I got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was in my car, so I called the office right away on my way home. Perhaps I was misreading the results. I was transferred to the nurse, but she didn't answer and so I left a message at around 10 in the morning. I finally got home and I emailed a few people in the office to see if any of them would respond. Dr. B didn't call me back until after 1 pm. Over 3 hours of hell. I was a wreck. Why had no one told me about my carrier status, why had my husband not been asked to get tested as well?? Why did I have to find out about this on the DAY OF MY IUI. The risk of both of us being carriers was very very low, but the risk was still there. I felt like it was going to be a failed attempt due to all the stress right away, and it eventually was. All Dr. B could say was she was sorry and that the Genetic Counselor was supposed to call me 3 months ago when they had the results. Apparently, they tried to call "me" 3 times, but that was incorrect. They had my husband's phone number because he was the first one to have an appointment at the office. My husband did receive a call and he told me about it, but we had an appointment with the doctor in a few days, so I didn't think much of it. Dr. B would tell me about whatever they were calling about. WRONG. Why did she tell me about my low Vit D and not the carrier status? All I can think of was she didn't want to spend the time talking about it because it would have been an extensive conversation. She had treated me nicely through the process, but was not thorough, and that's what you're getting with this facility. There were several instances where I felt like I was just being pushed through the system. From the gaps of information and lack of attention to detail. My IUI was not successful and as we all know, stress is a huge factor. They CREATED the stress I endured after the procedure. I refused to go back to get my blood test because I got my period. It was a very painful situation to go through, and I truly believe that I'm not the only one that his happens to, I was just unfortunate to find out. I had my first meeting today with my new fertility specialist, and she had informed me that starting the clomiphene on day 6 really didn't do anything to improve my chances. So, when I asked the MA to inform me about the repercussions, and her stating that 'it's fine' was very misleading. I did ask for my money back because I felt like it was all a waste. Of course, they only gave me back the 160 dollars for the blood test and nothing else. This place would probably be an acceptable place to go if you have experience with infertility or have already been through the process. If you're new to it though, you will leave with many gaps in knowledge. I would never go back, nor would I recommend this facility to anyone. Go to Texas Fertility Center. Seriously. read more

I hate that we have to go here and I hate hate hate every minute I spend here. Pros: You can get a whole bunch of testing in a short period of time. On your first visit, they go over your history, and then make a plan for a ton of blood work and more invasive tests to be performed over the next few weeks. They even give you a sonogram on your first visit. Another good feature is that you can almost always get an appointment when you need it, and there is rarely much of a wait to see the doctor. Plus, the blood work is done in office, and the nurses are usually pretty good about calling you back with the results. Oh, and the doctors are the ones who perform the sonograms and other tests. Cons: My least favorite thing is that there are several doctors at this location, and you just get bounced around depending on who is available. Even if you have asked for a particular doctor, another doctor will sometimes see you. So, it seems difficult for any particular doctor to get a good grip of what is going on with you and what your particular set of problems is. Also, because two of them are men, even thought someone will ask you initially whether you prefer a female doctor, you will inevitably end up with a male doctor from time to time, which was a surprise for me - especially since the first time this happened it was for a very painful and invasive test. Other cons: After the initial appointment, you are lucky to spend more than 3 minutes with a doctor. Only nurses call you back with blood work results - even if the result is abnormal. It is like a baby making factory over there. They follow a testing and treatment protocol like a conveyor belt and are in a constant rush to get to the next patient. Compared to other doctors: I have also been to Fertility Center of San Antonio (Dr. Neal) and Perinatal and Fertility Specialists of San Antonio (Dr. Honore). Of the three, RMA is the most informed on modern research, Dr. Neal is the most considerate and detail oriented, and Dr. Honore is rude and gave me a false diagnosis. I prefer Fertility Center of San Antonio. read more

My OBGYN suggested we come to RMA for some testing (sperm analysis and HSG) since we've been trying to have another child for over 2 years. While there, Dr. Brown was very friendly but I guess because we weren't a true patient, we had little to no communication as to what to expect, results, etc. Also, the day of my HSG, I was waiting in the waiting room for 45 mins before I was finally called back to only sit on a couch with other couples for 20 mins more. I've heard very good things from 3 friends about Fertility Center of San Antonio so we've decided to seek infertility treatment there. Look for my review on them in the next month or so! read more

My husband and I were patients of Dr. Arredondo at RMA and had such a positive experience. We did an egg retrieval and just one frozen embryo transfer to get pregnant with our now 3 month old son. While Dr. Arredondo was our primary doctor, we met with every doctor in the practice and each was very kind, patient and so positive! The positivity that each doctor has in every appointment really helped me make it through the stressful and emotional times. The nurses are wonderful and quick to answer your calls and emails. We will head back to RMA when we are ready for baby #2, as we are lucky to have remaining frozen embryos. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Arredondo, Dr. Browne, Dr. Balthazar, our nurse Erica Salgado (my wife absolutely loves her) and the rest of the staff at RMA. They were attentive, patient, super supportive and we always felt like they were rooting for us. For 11 years my wife and I were attempting to start a family and despite trying everything that people or doctors recommended, nothing worked. I feel blessed that we found RMA and am confident that they made all of the difference. It took a few attempts which was emotionally challenging but we knew that it was only a matter of time. Dr. Arredondo always remained positive and somehow found the magic formula. It was an amazing feeling to be able to announce to our friends and family that my wife was pregnant with fraternal twins. I actually went in to the clinic to get acupuncture. It would be my first time going to this clinic. When I walked in I was instantly blown away by how strong the chemical air freshener was. I was told to go sit on the couch in the hallway and fill out paper work. As I was sitting there trying to fill out paperwork I felt dizzy and lightheaded. I looked around and saw a glade plug it in in just about every outlet. I mean it was a chemical warfare in there. I got up and said I have to cancel this appointment and that I couldn't subject my health to this . I really don't understand how a Fertility clinic doesn't know that chemical air freshners especially plug it ins are extremely toxic. They contain Phthalates and other Hormone-Distributors which are linked to obesity, hormonal and reproductive issues,birth defects and developmental disorders. This is only the half of it. If you have Asthma plug it ins is absolutely the worst thing you can be around. Nervous system toxins and much more. In fact this fertility clinic should be telling there patients that they should get rid of plug it ins and chemical air freshners in the home and office if they are trying to get pregnant. I'm just shocked that this Fertility clinic is not educated enough to protect there patients well being. read more

I didn't have a good experience with RMA of Texas at all. It was actually kind of a nightmare. While I was there and after the initial appointment, the treatment I received felt very rushed and it just felt like they were going to dig out as much money as they could from me. I attended one of the free seminars they offered at the Stone Oak location and I liked the site and the presentation. However, when I went to my appointment I found it to be very unorganized. First they couldn't find my paperwork (even though I had submitted it beforehand), then when I was waiting for the dr. in a hallway, there was a patient sitting across from me and a nurse came to give her instructions - without wanting to, I overheard everything! Some of her medical history and the instructions for her treatment. Then I met the doctor, who is the director of the clinic, and I wasn't impressed at all. I was taken to give my blood sample and the nurse took at least 10 minutes to fill out the vials, this never happened to me before. Ever. I had a needle stuck in my arm for all this time and then she reduced the number of vials she was taking, cutting corners. It gave me the impression that she just wanted to get me to the next step and it didn't matter if she wasn't completing all that was required for a proper diagnosis. That was my second alarm. Finally the nurse that was supposedly assigned to go over treatment with me, went over all the information in less than five minutes and rushed me out of the place. I didn't follow through with treatment at this practice and I don't recommend it to anyone. Going to a practice like this once expects understanding and professionalism, it is a stressful time for a woman as it is, and I feel like they don't provide a good environment. The director of the clinic called me to ask why I decided not to follow through and he came across very arrogant. From the minute that I went into his office, he interrupted the consult to take a personal cell phone call. And then the first thing he did is give me two business cards so that I could pass along, because "I'm at that age" where I could have friends to refer them to the practice. Really do your research for other practices in San Antonio, I found there are other practices and doctors who come highly recommend and do an excellent job. read more

RMA has great doctors. I saw all three because during your monitoring weeks you will see the doctor that is on the morning shift. This really allows you as a patient to evaluate all of them and the doctors are able to collaborate. Dr. Balthazar was my lead Dr. and she definitely gets 5 stars. Her positive attitude and how she is truly invested into solving your fertility problem is extraordinary. I knew she was there for me. I agree with other people that the couch in the hallway and training room is weird (that bench is not made for adults.) but once you go through the whole process and see all the back rooms and the O.R. you get their space saving needs. The support staff and endocrinologists we met or spoke to were all top notch. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars was because we were constantly frustrated by our fertility coach. You will be assigned one RN who works with the doctor to answer your questions and order your meds. Unfortunately, ours didn't always answer our emails and sometimes would forget to order a prescription that she would tell you she'd call in and we had to remind her that she forgot. Since your F.C is the one person your constantly in contact with they really have the most important job for your day to day experience with RMA. read more

Going through infertility is a very difficult thing as it is. But, as you start ding fertility treatments, things get even tougher. I heard about RMA through a friend and went for a consult, after having seen a different for over a year. I was pleased that they were agressive and we had an ultrasound on the day of our consult, which was not scheduled and it allowed us to move forward faster. I love that RMA listens to the patient and allows their feedback as far as what treatment to proceed with. I love that the doctors are more agressive and do not spin your wheels with medications that have not worked in the past. We were linked up with one of the nurses as our fertility coach and she was great. She gave me her email and was always good about responding and making us feel better. The facility is nice and clean and has wonderfull decor. The wait was never too long and they offered water or coffee if you had to wait too long. My husband and I suffered a miscarriage and Dr. Arredondo was very sensitive and sat down with us for almost an hour to answer questions and make a plan to move forward. If I had to give any cons, I would say that there is a very large staff and I felt like I saw a different nurse everytime I went in. I cannot count on one hand how many different nurses drew blood and assisted with testing and treatment. There were times that I felt the doctors were so busy that they did not remember who I was from the time before. That was a problem with us. My husband and I tried for many years to conceive. We went to Dr Arredondo and he ran some tests, all of which are done right there in the facility, including labs, HCG tests etc.,. He found the problem and performed a small surgery and we became pregnant within two months. We miscarried two months later and Dr. Arredondo performed the D&C right there in the clinic in the back. I went to the clinic on Medical and really liked my first visit...but then I tried calling for lab results and never heard anything. It's been a month since they were done and no one has returned my phone call. I get transferred to the nurse who never answers and I leave a message with all my information but no one has called me back! I get that they are busy but they should be at least returning phone calls within 24 hours! I know my lab results aren't important to them but they are important to me. read more

The doctor at RMA was the first one to ever find what was wrong with me. Aftr just one look and speaking with my husband and I, he took the time and listened to our concerns, we decided to go with the surgery recommended by dr. aredondo. I became pregnant immediatley! I would and do reccomend him to all my friends that are having a hard time getting pregnant. also the staff is very caring and the facility is clean and friendly with a tv in the waiting room. read more

Totally inept office staff. Even making an appointment for initial visit is a task in itself, as the rude and unresponsive staff either are unable to take your calls or don't bother getting back in time. If the initial help is this bad, I can just imagine how the rest of the services are. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere for our fertility services. read more

I went there several years ago and was not impressed. I was bumped around from doctor to doctor and the each doctor had a totally different interpretation of the procedure as to what was going on, so much so that I couldn't believe anyone and knew that we wouldn't have success. I was told they wouldn't do IVF unless I used a donor for eggs because of age, I asked if they could test my eggs and they said flat out no! even though i had just had a 3 year old with no fertility treatment at all. It was very evident that they didn't want to throw off their IVF numbers that they have to report it was too big of a risk. I was ultimately advised that I was in denial about my age that I would have to deal with it, which I thoroughly understand my age and I'm fine with that. It just seemed like they were more interested in the money. About 6 mo after we were done I called to verify that I didn't owe any money, they said no. Now after two years have passed (since my last visit) I now get a bill for $500, I don't see how this is ethical. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau, I do not trust them and think they are not reputable. read more
