The urgent care/ ED here was great and super efficient, went through triage, got brought into treatment room, had vitals and brief history taken all done under 20 min or less. We were seen by Dr Biederman who was just efficient, wound cleaned and stapled and we were on our way, whole visit was about an hour, in contrast to Minneapolis children's where we were in lobby waiting for two hours, not seen till I wanted to leave. Other than their harder to find entrance, I would highly recommend this place if you have urgent need like ours.

In October 2023 I went to SSM Health Dean for a Mohs procedure to remove a basal cell cancer on my…read moreface. The dermatologist removed the basal cell and then I went to the SSM Aesthetic center so the plastic surgeon could close the site. I expected skilled care and a good outcome. Unfortunately, my experience was far from that. The procedure left me with unnecessary scarring and complications. I sent photos of the botched site and returned to the surgeon's office in fall 2024 seeking advice. They recommended a scar revision with a different plastic surgeon. That appointment was scheduled for late February 2025. I went to the appointment. After waiting 45 minutes, I had to leave. I was told at the scheduling desk that this surgeon often double books. If I wanted to reschedule, the next available appointment would be in May. I typically don't leave reviews, but people deserve to know what kind of experience and outcome they might expect. I regret choosing this practice for such an important procedure, especially on my face. If you are considering Mohs surgery, I strongly recommend researching other doctors who have a proven track record of excellent results and compassionate patient care. You might want to avoid SSM Health's plastic surgeons.

I have BCBS Insurance. I contacted their intake and explained what was going on. They got me in very quickly with a Nurse Practitioner named Dr. Madison. There was a library of overdue blood tests I needed as well as OBGYN. Not only did I get in right away, but was able to get three appointments for my routine care and issues within the span of three weeks. All on my day off which is a Wednesday! All staff from business side to Dr. Madison was very personable and very caring. I got my blood test results back the very same day instead of two days as the lab predicted. Excellent service! Beamsley was my third attempt at finding a primary care doctor who didn't make me want to strangle…read morethem. I'm in my mid-20s and have some medical issues that require management by a hematologist; I'm also a graduate student and very invested in my own care. Previous primary care docs had treated me like an idiot and given me info that I strongly suspected was erroneous. I tried Beamsley on the advice of another grad student (who is also, like me, female), and I am so glad I did. During my first physical, I mentioned that friends of mine in Missouri had been required to discontinue Depo Provera (the birth control shot) because physicians there told them that no one should be on it for than five years. Beamsley, who is also an ob-gyn (I see someone else for that), told me he had never heard anything about such a limit, but he would check the literature. I sort of assumed that was the end of it, but two days later, HE CALLED ME AT HOME to tell me that he had looked into it and found nothing in the medical journals about such a limit. He has always taken the time to answer any questions I've had and he obviously respects my intelligence. He's a little socially awkward, but not obnoxious or insensitive. I rarely like doctors even when I have to deal with them, but I like Beamsley a lot, and I feel lucky to have found such a good PC.

I presented myself, at their front desk, and after going thru the proof of insurance mumbo-jumbo, I made an appointment with my new personal doctor, Dr Karen Swallen. Wow...what a resume. Graduated from Yale, with a BS. Then, she went on to get a PHD. 5 Years later...she went to medical school, and obtained her MD, from the UW. When I first met her, I commented, that with her educational background, I was surprised she wasn't practicing on Michigan Ave, in Chicago...or Park avenue in New York. She confessed that, at heart, she is just a small town girl. She then gave me a complete physical. She then set up a strategy, for combating, and controling my Type II diabetes, my Atril defibrillation, and my COPD. I left, feeling my general health prognosis, was definitely, in GOOD HANDS. I went to at least six doctors -- gynecologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, not to mention GPs -- in two states and was told, again and again, that I was a nutjob with clearly repressed memories of horrific childhood abuse. It took Dr. Barbara O'Connell ten minutes to say, "Honey, you're fine. Thirty minutes in the OR and you'll be good to go." I cannot speak highly enough of this woman, and since said operation (two years ago this March), I have recommended her in gushing terms to all of my gyno-needing friends. Seriously. (However, it can take a while to get a new-patient appointment, which sucks, but I think is often the case with competent gynecologists.)
