If you're completely new to firearms or haven't shot your firearm in a long time, this is probably…read morenot the class to start with. Save yourself the money and frustration by taking a basic firearms safety or beginner shooting course first. This class assumes you already understand the fundamentals of firearm safety and handling. Range day is taken very seriously, and the instructors expect you to already know your firearm and follow directions immediately. One instructor in particular, Robert, is extremely professional but also very stern and direct. Some people may mistake that for being harsh, but it's obvious his priority is making sure everyone goes home safely. There is military-style discipline on the range, and yes, there will be raised voices if someone isn't following instructions. That's exactly how it should be when live firearms are involved. As for the classroom portion, Arvin is outstanding. He's respectful, knowledgeable, and makes the class genuinely enjoyable. He has a great sense of humor, keeps everyone engaged, and there's never a dull moment. At the same time, when it's time to get serious, he flips that switch immediately and remains professional. He answers every question honestly, doesn't sugarcoat anything, and explains the laws and responsibilities of carrying a firearm in a way that's easy to understand. For the price, I honestly don't think you'll find a better value. The training is well worth the cost. The only downside is parking. The lot is very small, so I highly recommend arriving at least 30-35 minutes early if you want a chance to park there. Arvin does his best to fit as many vehicles as possible, but most people will likely end up parking on the street. Be aware that some of the surrounding street parking has a two-hour limit, so pay attention to the signs to avoid a potential ticket. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely return to Nationwide CCW for future training and my CCW renewal. After talking with several friends who have taken classes elsewhere, I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I've heard of. Thank you again to Arvin, Robert, and the entire Nationwide CCW team for providing a professional, informative, and safety-focused class. I highly recommend them. - George Morales

He took the time to answer everyone's questions and made sure we understood not just how to handle a firearm safely, but also the laws and responsibilities that come with carrying. The range portion was well organized, and he made everyone feel comfortable, no matter their experience level. You can tell he genuinely cares about teaching people the right way. If you're looking for a solid CCW instructor who's patient, experienced, and easy to learn from, I definitely recommend taking his class. I wouldn't hesitate to train with him again.

Daniel was a great instructor who made the class interesting and easy to follow. He gave excellent instruction and we felt safe when we went to the live shooting portion. He gave me a few tips and techniques that definitely helped as I continued to familiarize myself with my new pistols. When it was time to take my CCW course, I returned to Daniel and things went great as well. The class is twice the length, but he was still able to keep it entertaining and engaging. The only thing I'd change is when it comes to the mental health portion. He makes it known that he doesn't like the fact that he has to teach that portion because he's not a mental health expert. He's not a lawyer, but has no issue teaching the legal portions. He's not a health expert but brings someone in to discuss dressing wounds, tourniquets, etc. So it would be nice to have him embrace the importance of the mental health portion of the class. Outside of that, the class is great! If you're looking for a basic pistol course or getting your CCW, I highly recommend Daniel and First Step Shooting.
