Really enjoyed shooting here! I've been here once before, so many years ago, that it was almost like my first time here. Robert and the other man working the front desk we're absolutely welcoming, helpful, and informative. Which was great! Esthetically still one of the nicest ranges I've been to. Good paper target selection and range ventilation. Also unlike others I've been to, there is no time limit. You pay a flat rate instead of by the hour. Yet I would highly suggest wearing good hearing protection. I always bring my own and wear foam earplugs with high NRR rated ear muffs together. This range is smaller than other's I've been to so it seems to make every gun blast a bit it louder. P.S., If you wanted to save time, you can fill out the required E-Waiver online before arriving. In person as well but it's online only. And lasts up to a year of submitting. There website also has the range rules listed which can definitely save you a trip if you didn't meet the requirements

I'm a happy member at Firing-Line Burbank and brought my wife here for her very first range experience today. She wasn't exactly sold on the whole "fun date activity" idea once the guy in the next lane started rattling off shotgun blasts that even made me jump. She decided to sit it out, but the Range Master checked on her, suggested doubling up with ear plugs under her earmuffs (something I should've thought of, rookie husband mistake), and made her comfortable enough to give it one more try. She fired a single round from my Shield, said "nope, not for me," and went back to the seating area. Fair enough. I went on to turn about 200 rounds into brass, and when we wrapped up, the Range Master didn't even charge me for her lane time or the extra plugs. That's the kind of customer service and attention to people's comfort that keeps me coming back. Firing-Line gets a bad rap sometimes for being strict, but honestly, that's just because they take safety seriously, which is exactly what you want at a range. As a member, I couldn't be happier with the staff, the professionalism, and the overall experience.

Very affordable membership for unlimited range time, accessible from much of east LA. Really no negative since June when I started here. Maybe that it feels pretty warm in the range, but it's also summer and I haven't been to other ranges as a newer shooter to say if that's expected. Definitely recommend!

I usually visit this range about once a month to shoot with one of my college buddies. Wait time for the range is very minimal. The staff does a good job on monitoring for rapid firing and unsafe ammo loading. Range fee is per person vs per hour. Staff is professional.

I've been a member on and off since around 2008 when Firing-Line still had the Northridge location. My family and I've shot at Northridge (closed a number of years ago), Burbank, and Huntington Beach. In fact, I began my youngest son's firearms training at Northridge, which eventually began his progress to becoming a nationally-awarded Distinguished Rifleman at the USA National Matches. Firing-Line does not have the most modern shooting ranges that my family and I have shot at locally and nationally. I don't think the ranges go all the way up to 15 yards. The staff have, over the years, varied from mostly friendly and helpful to very few grumpy and know-it-all. I don't think there is any public business that is perfect. What I believe one should focus on, though, is longevity. I know for a fact that these shooting ranges have been around since before my family and I began patronizing their facilities in 2008. That's 17 years plus! The owners and managers have therefore been doing somethings right in serving the shooting public's needs, as well as maintaining business profitability in this highly firearms-unfriendly state, through the ups and downs in the USA economy. If you're looking for fun, SAFE & EXPERT firearms instruction and training, pistol and a few rifle rentals, purchases of ammo and targets (I love the tennis balls!), practice of your short-range shooting skills (non-tactical), a soda machine, a small relaxation area, reasonable cleanliness (even the bathrooms), and so on, try the Firing-Line Indoor Shooting Ranges, and judge for yourself. My family and I highly recommend them. We (I especially) would not frequent them otherwise, even more than the outdoor shooting club that we also belong to.

First time at Firing Line -- and it won't be the last! I visited Firing Line for the first time today to celebrate my birthday with my daughter, and break in my brand new handgun, and I have to say, it was an awesome experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We were helped by Mark, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and just a joy to talk to. He answered all my questions with genuine enthusiasm and took the time to chat with us about our favorite firearms. It wasn't just customer service -- it was a real conversation with someone who clearly loves what he does. My firearm needed just a bit of lubrication and Mark took care of me instantly without hesitation! We even had some great gun talk with other staff members, which made the whole vibe feel like we were among friends. The range itself may be on the smaller side, but it's very well maintained. Clean, organized, and with a cozy little seating area complete with a TV -- perfect for taking a break or just hanging out between rounds. Only two minor things worth noting (and they're really not dealbreakers): 1 The trash was full, and I couldn't dispose of my own trash properly -- I actually wanted to help keep the place tidy! 2 The target selection was a bit generic. My daughter had a great suggestion: add some fun options, like a PINK target for female shooters or anyone wanting a splash of color! All in all, this was a fantastic birthday outing and I'm really glad we chose Firing Line. Big thanks to Mark and the rest of the team for making it so memorable. We'll definitely be back soon and I am definitely purchasing the family membership! Oh yeah, and as for parking and ammo, there is a small first come first serve lot in the back, but also more than enough street parking right in front! And as for ammo yes you can bring your own which is GREAT! Just make sure you call ahead with the brand and type to make sure it's cleared before you get there, and you're all set!

Regarding staffP THEY ARE GREAT. 100% on your side if your side is to be safe, listen and follow the rules: and just be honest about what you're doing. Here's the thing... if you don't know what you're doing - don't act like you know what you're doing. Find out how and you find out how by ASKING. If you do something wrong - Yes, you MIGHT be scolded - but this is a shooting range with live ammo from high-powered handguns and rifles and we're there to practice, have fun, and to learn in a dangerous environment. So lessen the risk! Safety first! If you think you know something but you don't - THAT could be dangerous: Life-threatening - to you and people around you. And thank GOD we have the staff here to keep us in check. This isn't a playground. If people are fooling around or doing something wrong, or not following the rules, and because safety is the number one overall rule, you'll be corrected (possibly in a firm way). Don't be mad at staff for yelling at you for risking the lives of people with a firearm in your hand. Check your ego at the door. If you have a question - just ask. Have a problem with your gun, come out and ask for help. If you forget where you're supposed to do something or how - ask. If you guess - and you do something to endanger yourself or anyone there, of course you'll be reprimanded and possibly sent home. Do you want a story to tell. Just sit in the lobby for an hour and count the amount of people that are new, that don't listen, that say they know this that and the other thing, but they don't, and find out what happens. Hell, I don't want them next to me. Do you? So staff HAS TO BE on their toes all the time. If not - I sure as hell wouldn't go to this range. They aren't there to joke around and let things slide. WE ARE SHOOTING FIREARMS! I'm not going to give a rating based on pricing and rentals and ammo -because that's just what it is. Bring your own gear. And learn how to use it - you'll save a ton of money in the long run. Overall, this rating is about a facility and staff that makes it safe place to go. The first week I was there I had a couple of my empty firearms laid out but they were pointing left. Staff came in and told me that they need to always be pointed down range no matter what. I thought, hey, they are empty, slide locked back and because of that I believed they were safe. But you can never be too safe when you remember the 4 rules of gun safety and one of them is: Always treat every firearm as though it was loaded. I was very thankful for learning that lesson. If you're an asshole and start saying yeah, I know, blah blah blah, they are empty, blah blah blah... I'd rather you be kicked out and not in a lane next to me.. SO there you have it. Great facility. Great Staff. Normally great members shooting... but of course, the newbies and the know-it-alls will say otherwise because THEY are the ones who get called on safety issues.

Ask the Community - Firing-Line Indoor Shooting Ranges

I'm a Brit in LA for the first time and wouldn't mind experiencing this whilst I'm here. Am I able to just turn up and shoot or do I need a membership?

No membership needed. Must have a US DL or Passport and be over 21

    Can I shoot 7.62?

No rifle calibers allowed at this range. Rifles chambered in a pistol caliber are allowed, however (9mm, 22lr, .357 magnum, etc.)

How far can the target go to?

As far as it lets you

Does anyone have price range for private training?

See their web site for basic RANGE rates of $28 (first shooter) and $14 (second). I did NOT see their rates to rent guns or sell you ammo.

Does this range allow 9mm pistol caliber carbines?

Yes. Rifles are allowed if they are chambered in a handgun cartridge lower in power than .44magnum, or .30 carbine.

Do they require you to take a class/course before firing?

They do not but they require you to demonstrate that you can load and unload a gun safely. It is best to either take a class first if you're inexperienced or go with someone who is experienced. Please don't expect the people working there to…

Do they background check someone to use the shooting range?

    No, they don't.

How much is it approximately if I want to try shooting at the range with a pistol? I need to rent everything

for a non member, i think one handgun rental is $20. and you also need ammo. a 9mm ammo 50 rounds would be around $10. 45acp 50 rounds was like $20.…

What brands of semiauto handguns are available for rental? sig? glock? beretta? are they all one price to rent?

All the brands and several others are available to rent. I believe rental prices are the same across all hand guns.

Does this range allow rifles chambered in. 223 like an AR15?

No. .22 or handgun ammo only. Allows shotgun with birdshot loads.

It can be intimidating to do things that are of a dangerous nature while training with men. I found that out while training to ride motorcycles. Often times (especially lately) people want to avoid the idea that men & women have different needs & ways in which they learn, but for me personally i cannot ignore this fact, & I really didn't want a "tough guy" approach to my Firearm journey as an abuse survivor. Not that there's anything wrong with the fellas, but for my comfort, I really wanted a ladies' approach to the world of self-defense shooting and after a long search... I found the absolute QUEEN of the shooting range! Peggy Grangetto has changed my life with her Ladies Only gun training. She is a firearms EXPERT with many certifications and is extraordinarily knowledgeable and gentle with her teaching style. In the beginners course, you will learn all the basics in a safe, ego neutral environment where you can be comfortable. Half classroom, half gun range. I took her Ladies Only Beginner course and was able to take the test to get certified to purchase & own a Firearm, as well as spend a few hours shooting a .22 caliber pistol (let her know in advance if you want to take the certification test). Her classes are held at the Beautiful Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall. Check out their Yelp as well if you're already experienced or are looking for a range in the SCV! Yesterday was my follow-up class, which was the Intermediate Ladies only Pistol course. This was an all gun range day with a 9MM pistol, myself, another student & Peggy. I'm learning BODY TRUST and focus, which is soooooo important to being effective in stopping an attack from an assailant while using a gun. If you are a woman seeking to train with firearms, and an want the feminine ego neutral approach, then you need Peggy. You will NOT regret the decision to take your power back. I'm so happy and empowered you guys. Beyond 5 stars! *Please note, Peggy doesn't ONLY teach women. All genders are welcome to her training, however the ladies only classes are SPECIFICALLY for women.

Save yourself the money and frustration by taking a basic firearms safety or beginner shooting course first. This class assumes you already understand the fundamentals of firearm safety and handling. Range day is taken very seriously, and the instructors expect you to already know your firearm and follow directions immediately. One instructor in particular, Robert, is extremely professional but also very stern and direct. Some people may mistake that for being harsh, but it's obvious his priority is making sure everyone goes home safely. There is military-style discipline on the range, and yes, there will be raised voices if someone isn't following instructions. That's exactly how it should be when live firearms are involved. As for the classroom portion, Arvin is outstanding. He's respectful, knowledgeable, and makes the class genuinely enjoyable. He has a great sense of humor, keeps everyone engaged, and there's never a dull moment. At the same time, when it's time to get serious, he flips that switch immediately and remains professional. He answers every question honestly, doesn't sugarcoat anything, and explains the laws and responsibilities of carrying a firearm in a way that's easy to understand. For the price, I honestly don't think you'll find a better value. The training is well worth the cost. The only downside is parking. The lot is very small, so I highly recommend arriving at least 30-35 minutes early if you want a chance to park there. Arvin does his best to fit as many vehicles as possible, but most people will likely end up parking on the street. Be aware that some of the surrounding street parking has a two-hour limit, so pay attention to the signs to avoid a potential ticket. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely return to Nationwide CCW for future training and my CCW renewal. After talking with several friends who have taken classes elsewhere, I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I've heard of. The training facility itself is clean, well-organized, and comfortable, which made a big difference during a longer course like this.   Their attention to detail really stood out. Everything was explained clearly, and they made sure everyone fully understood the material - not just to pass, but to be responsible and confident moving forward.   Big thanks to Bo, Mike, and Luis - all three are extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. They bring real-world experience and create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and learning.   Also, a nice bonus... they provided lunch on day two, which was a great touch and shows how much they care about their students.   Overall, top-notch training and a great experience. I'd absolutely recommend Southwest Training Center to anyone serious about getting their CCW done right, or any other firearms or medical related training.

Great culture they have there - everyone is pleasant to deal with and everyone is having fun while dealing with the seriousness of handling firearms like the pros that they are. My first exposure was to Yamin and although I didn't necessarily meet her, she was super duper helpful both on the phone and via emails. She's on it! Thank you, Yamin! Basel (unsure of spelling) was an excellent instructor for both the classroom and the practical range time. He kept the atmosphere of the class engaging and upbeat despite some of the lengthier material. Humorous and he knew his stuff. I only got to hear Luis speak to the class for a small portion but he is definitely knowledgeable about gun laws as well. Did not get to see him at the range unfortunately. There was another gentleman there that I didn't get his name but he was very helpful with tips to improve my grip. At the range, I watched the instructors, Bo and Mike, encourage an older woman who was a novice to guns and she was slightly nervous as she was having trouble manipulating her fireman but they were super patient with her. They gave off no condescending energy at all (and I've seen that from other instructors before, especially towards novices and/or women). But Bo and Mike had her shooting on target and I could tell she was so happy and proud of herself by the end of the day. I really appreciated their kindness towards her, they went the extra mile! Southwest is just good people is all I can say. 10/10 recommend for your pewpew instructional needs.
