This part of the class was eye-opening and essential--he makes sure you understand that the decision to pull the trigger is the absolute last resort and carries life-altering legal weight. The classroom portion was never dry because Arvin keeps everyone engaged, but he also has zero tolerance for ego or unsafe behavior, which I really appreciated as a student. The Range Experience: The qualification at the range was exceptionally well-managed. Arvin brought along three additional instructors, ensuring a very high instructor-to-student ratio. Having four professionals watching the line made the entire process feel incredibly safe and organized. They were helpful, calm, and focused on ensuring everyone followed protocol to the letter. If you are looking for an instructor who is professional, legally knowledgeable, and runs a tight ship while keeping the atmosphere welcoming, Arvin is your guy. He wasn't expelled from the class because he asked instructor a question about "lethal weapon" registration. He was expelled (twice) due to a persistent pattern of aggressive behavior, verbal harassment of instructors and students, and a total lack of the emotional self-control required for safe firearm certification. I was in the same class with him and witnessed it all. I honestly am at a loss how Nationwide CCW has so many 5 star reviews. Not even any 4s, 3s or 2s. The place is a dump and they pack you in like sardines. Not someplace you want to sit all day. The instructor is bellicose and rude. They even had attitude answering initial questions over the phone - which should have been my first clue. Just a nasty experience - start to finish - that has stayed with me. There are better options. EDIT: They reached out confrontationally trying to verify my identity. Arvin and the Nationwide CCW class were a great and eye opening experience. I attended the weekend course and was extremely impressed with the quality of instruction. Arvin is very knowledgeable, and his 30 years of experience truly show throughout the class. The course does an excellent job of making you aware of all aspects of what to expect when carrying concealed. While he covers the basic firearm safety principles that experienced gun owners should already know, he also dives into important topics that many people may not normally consider, such as legal concerns, mental health, situational awareness, de escalation, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm. Arvin is very professional while also keeping the class engaging with his sense of humor. I particularly enjoyed the discussions about applicable laws, as well as the real world stories and videos he shared to reinforce important concepts and lessons. He does a great job of keeping everyone involved and interested throughout the course. One thing that stood out to me was how he reviewed every missed exam question with the class to ensure everyone understood the material. I also appreciated that he consistently explained the "why" behind the concepts he was teaching rather than simply saying, "This is the law" or "This is the way it is." That approach helped create a much deeper understanding of the subject matter. At the shooting range, I felt safe knowing that Arvin and the other instructors were closely supervising participants and consistently enforcing safe firearm handling practices. Their attention to safety and professionalism was evident throughout the qualification process. For the price and level of instruction provided, this class is a no brainer. I signed up for the weekend two day course. Arvin is the business owner and main instructor. The course is presented in a professional manner with humor at times to keep you engaged. The material is informative and engaging. The classroom is small but that helps keep costs down down so I appreciate the effort to make it as comfortable as possible. Breaks were given throughout the day. Range is about a 30 minute drive away, other instructors are knowledgeable and make it be known that this is a serious course and will keep rules enforced at all times. Earlier this January, I took my CCW course with Nationwide CCW instructed by Arvin. I highly recommend his 2-day CCW class. Hands down the price/fees to take his class beats all CCW classes provided by other LAPD-approved instructors/vendors. Arvin is a knowledgeable, qualified professional with 30+ years of law enforcement and firearms training. He explains the complex California CCW laws clearly and in a way that actually makes sense. And he made it all informative and fun by sprinkling in his good sense of humor, while also providing real life scenarios and videos. The 2nd day of class began with the shooting proficiency portion held at a nearby private outdoor range not accessible by the general public. It was well organized for such a big class when I attended. While there was humor interjected in the classroom portion of the class on Day 1, it was all business serious safety-focused shooting proficiency on Day 2 at the range. We shot in groups from 3, 5 and 7 yards for each of the guns (up to 3) that you are qualifying for your permit. The last half of the 2nd day involved going back to the class for a final muliple choice written test. *** The added bonus... Upon receiving our firearms qualification and shooting proficiency certificates after completion of Day 2, that same day we were given the option to get the add-on of getting the Arizona, Utah and/or Florida CCW permit. Arvin provided step-by-step instructions on how to apply online and in just 2 weeks, I received my AZ CCW -- and BEFORE I received my CA CCW! Now I can carry in AZ and the additional 37 states! Overall, Nationwide CCW offers a high-quality course, and valuable information on how to obtain a multi-state CCW permit. Arvin is an excellent instructor. I hate school, especially after taking the same course, once in L.A county and then in Orange County, so when I moved back to Los Angeles I was not happy to have to take the same course for the third time, and now making worse it is now a 16 HOUR course! Well after taking this class two previous times I really thought that there was not much that I could learn and I felt that I was just doing time. But after 16 hours with Arvin and Edmon Younan not only did I learn more than I ever did in other classes, it was the time spent on the shooting range that I was most impressed with, they take no shortcuts and the expect excellence, or you have the pleasure of doing until you get it right!
