Their ENT, "Dr." Daniel Sleve botched a simple surgery on my nasal inferior turbinates by taking so much tissue he ruined their function permanently. I now have been diagnosed with the 100% surgically created condition called Empty Nose Syndrome. As a company, they have decided to throw me to the curb instead of doing the right thing and hold their doctor accountable. They know the increased malpractice insurance rates and damaged community image would be a consequence so they have instead chosen to keep my money and leave me to cope with what they've done to me by myself. From the receptionist to the Dr, the visit to Hearing and Balance Specialists of KC was super. Quick check in when I arrived. They emailed me the forms to fill out the day before, so I could have done before arriving. Office was super clean and professional. Have appointment next week to have hearimg aids fitted. I am confident that Hearing and Balance Specialists, and Dr Lake will take good care of me.

I about fell over when she told me to text her if my I had any problems. If you have a hearing loss and your aids stop working what better way to communicate than text! There is no middle person I have to go through to get to her and she is REAL. She is always so sweet and goes above to help you. Her practice is warm, and feels like home. It is a family setting and my grandkids are always welcome, even my dog who gets cookies every time I go in. I don't have to worry about parking with my walker and she is always there to open the door for me and the best part is there are no stairs, elevators and I walk straight in to her office. I was re-assigned to Katherine Rhoads who is very nice and believe is very competent. Today I had a scheduled follow up appointment with AA. I was called Friday to conform the appointment for 9:00 this morning. I arrived a bit early and was asked for my new insurance card (which I provided). Then I was asked for my Medicare Card (which I am not sure I even have one). I offered to provide my Medicare number but the receptionist said she required my Medicare card. I have been on Medicare for 4 years and have never been asked for this before; not from Associated Audiologists and not from my PCP, Ortho, NKC Hospital, Dentist Neurologist etc.. Now just for the record, Medicare has zero hearing aid benefits - Zero. I am the one paying the bill. So this is the 3rd time I had an appointment from this provider that was not honored. THE THIRD TIME!!!! Very disappointing after spending $4000 on hearing aids.
