The doctor kept us waiting for 45 minutes and then entered the room to request the reason for my mom's visit (one would think he knew this answer already). He was told it was to review my mother's medications to determine what she should no longer need to take. He then threw out a few bottles. I was there to ask questions as to my mother's state of health since I was visiting. He asked where I was from, I said I was visiting from LA. Big mistake- started talking politics which is beyond unprofessional and truly uncalled for. He spent maybe 10 minutes with my mother, did not provide any physical exam, handed her husband a script written with a request for in-home care and then we were told the appointment was over and that she was scheduled to return in a month. Who writes a referral on a prescription pad? This confused her husband. To top it off, the referral was never handled. We were called to set up the referral on 11/13. My mother's appointment with the doctor was 10/24. My mother ended up in the hospital on 10/26 due to an infection she got from a wound on her leg. Had she been examined, we might have caught it sooner. I don't recommend this doctor. I live in a big city, his attitude matches it. No empathy. I am adding one star, because he was a referral from her pastor who is a kind man.

It may be considered dangerous. The only way to contact the office for any questions (such as prescriptions, lab orders, etc.) is through the general Baptist phone service. While this system works well for scheduling appointments, it falls short in addressing other patient needs. The doctor's office staff never delivers or returns messages taken by the call center. This occurred regarding an update needed for a lab order. After leaving multiple messages with no response, visiting the physical office location was necessary. The receptionist was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. She refused to contact a nurse or help resolve the issue in person. Because there is no direct line of communication to a person at the local office, and due to the staff's rudeness and unresponsiveness, this practice poses a serious risk to patient care. If follow-up is needed, you will likely be ignored. Potential patients should seek care elsewhere until Baptist Health improves this system.

Chelsea at the front desk greeted me with a smile and was both friendly and professional. As a new patient, I was fully registered within just a couple of minutes. She even informed me of my copay before I was seen, processed my payment, provided a receipt, and explained what to expect next. Shortly afterward, Tiffany, the medical assistant, brought me back to the exam room. She was incredibly friendly, made me laugh, and immediately put me at ease.
