102.7 jack fm Baltimore was dead for a few years they played the same songs over and over for about…read more6 5 years but now starting sep 15 2025 starting 12 am boom full variety both old and new songs its a great balance also they play great songs from the 60s to 10s really good songs yes they haven't been the best before but now its really great I love the change and the big variety the reason I think was because covid hit and they started playing less variety makes sense but its great now also every year they play special programing weekends like random Christmas songs or random thanksgiving day song nothing but 80s 4th of July weekend all American 4th of July weekend nothing but 80s Labor Day weekend totally 80s memorial day weekend I love their variety and songs their variety is better then todays 101.9 Baltimore and other radio stations like 106.5 and 104.3 their 90s at 9 and 80s at 8 on the weekdays are good too there random and unpredictable variety is back and they play American top 40 with Casey Kasem the 80s at 7 pm every Sundays anyways great variety I love 102.7 jack fm Baltimore.

Hannah worked with me for months on the details of the tour and did not disappoint when the day finally arrived for about 15 of us to tour the station. The digital sign in the lobby even had a welcome message with our chapter name and number on it. So welcoming! Hannah showed us everything from the control booths to the special lighting and robotic cameras, to the telethon stage/phones, to the new special events/concert stage area. We learned the history of MPT, how it's broadcast throughout the state of Maryland, what shows are locally produced, and about some special events and ways to support public broadcasting. The station is really cool and I highly recommend taking a tour.

I have been closely monitoring this program for the last two years. It was struck down in Congress are you gonna have to go; because the quarterly the president did not have the power to an act such a program without Congress. Dumb Things. that old Paul Kelly and the Messengers song. the synapses fire. the fingers tap. the volume increases. then My Morning Jacket comes over the airwaves. the road continues but it is no longer dark. New Pornographers play. some old Frank Zappa. Bright Eyes. Robert Plant & Allison Krauss. Sly and the Family Stone. the Nighthawks. the Arctic Monkeys. it's only when the static sets in that i realize that i have made it home. i pull up in front of my house and turn off the ignition. WTMD probably saved my life tonight. thank goodness there wasn't a Towson basketball game that night. i might still be on I-95.

WTMD is the great alternative radio station in town. They're likely to play anything they want at…read moreany given moment. I find it a little unfortunate that means they play a LOT of standards from the 70s and 80s, but they do go right back to modern/eclectic selections. They really shine when they play blocks of music based on themes. Weasel's Wild Weekend is a great showcase for interesting music that you don't always hear, and they do blues shows and other off the beaten path segments. They do a lot of community concerts and events, including Baltimore-themed contests through phone apps (which usually only work with the most up to date OSs.) This is truly a home town station for music lovers.
