I am writing this review on behalf of my 90 year old mother whose husband recently passed at 96 after a long battle with dementia. In reviewing my parents' finances, I became aware that the Baltimore Sun has been criminally over-charging them for paper subscription services, likely for many years. Since November 2024, the Sun has been charging my parents $250 per month for subscription services, an increase from the already outrageous price of $170 per month for the prior year(s)!! Thats $9 per day!!!! Meanwhile, the intro price is $6.99 per week. This type of behavior, especially against elderly people managing chronic health conditions, is predatory, criminal and shameful. They subscribed for 60 + years. Shame shame shame on you Sun Paper. Shame. Honestly, It makes me feel ashamed to be from Maryland. Luckily, I got to complain to a call center 1/2 way around the world. so thats nice It is unfortunate that yelp does not allow 0 stars. read more

I have been a subscriber for years, and even though the paper has been greatly diminished since they were acquired by Alden Global Company whose mission is to torpedo all newspapers in their portfolio, I still think local news coverage is good, and essential as the watch dogs for the Baltimore region. I have never had any issues with delivery as other folks reported. The cost of the paper is ridiculous considering what you get, and I cancelled for a few months, but found that I missed it and re-subscribed at a better price. So even though my 4 stars is probably generous, I want to support the journalists who still do a great job in covering Baltimore and surrounding area. read more

If I could give it a negative number I would. I have been a subscriber for years and they were bad in the beginning but have steadily gotten worse (more so since they recently sold). I get the Wednesday and Sunday papers and can't remember the last time I received a complete paper. When there are inserts in the Sunday paper, they are for the Carroll County Times. And they have no customer service in this country. The calls are sent to the Philippines. I will be canceling my subscription. The most incompetent company I have ever dealt with hands down. If other newspapers run this bad no wonder they are a dying breed. read more

I paid for my subscription and NEVER actually got my paper delivered to MY house. It was continuously delivered to my neighbor's house. Upon reaching out to Baltimore Sun newspaper I was told that they TRY to deliver papers to the correct address. I then sent them a picture of my paper in the neighbor's yard...they then said that they too had a subscription!! This means my paper was NEVER delivered. I was offered a prorated refund which amounted to less than HALF of what I paid and I NEVER, I repeat NEVER, had a paper delivered to my home. Once I insisted on cancelling my subscription after several failed attempts by Baltimore Sun, I could not reach them to inquire about why I was not fully refunded my money. The moral of the story is, DON'T subscribe to the Baltimore Sun if you actually would like to get a paper!! read more

We took the Baltimore sun for years and thought the price was worth the content. Customer service is a different matter. There were times the paper didn't arrive or was delivered very late or was deposited in a puddle. There were times that vacation pauses were not honored. In December we attempted to cancel our subscription as we were moving out of state. Just after we moved they sent what we thought was final bill and we paid it. It turns out that this meant we were resubscribed and we were sent another bill for papers we weren't there to read and we didn't know were being delivered to an empty house. We have tried to talk to customer service. They refuse to escalate beyond the call center, didn't return promised calls, lose records of our calls and send boiler plate responses to email. Very unhappy. read more
