In reviewing my parents' finances, I became aware that the Baltimore Sun has been criminally over-charging them for paper subscription services, likely for many years. Since November 2024, the Sun has been charging my parents $250 per month for subscription services, an increase from the already outrageous price of $170 per month for the prior year(s)!! Thats $9 per day!!!! Meanwhile, the intro price is $6.99 per week. This type of behavior, especially against elderly people managing chronic health conditions, is predatory, criminal and shameful. They subscribed for 60 + years. Shame shame shame on you Sun Paper. Shame. Honestly, It makes me feel ashamed to be from Maryland. I have never had any issues with delivery as other folks reported. The cost of the paper is ridiculous considering what you get, and I cancelled for a few months, but found that I missed it and re-subscribed at a better price. So even though my 4 stars is probably generous, I want to support the journalists who still do a great job in covering Baltimore and surrounding area.

I checked my account and my crediit card was in their system, held hostage for a future subscription. She stated she cancelled it . I had to ask for a cancellation number as proof though I do not know if this number is legit... Plenty of parking. I walk in and it's a welcoming candle studio w cutesy décor. I was greeted by the owner (Shajira Brown). She was super sweet, energetic, and personable. She shared her "why" for this business, gave information of what we would be doing and what to expect, and went over safety protocol when handling items. Shortly after, we visited the scent wall. Whew weee were there some great scents. It was difficult to choose from. I was able to narrow my scents down to 3. My niece assisted w the perfect fit which was Cherry Blossom. It smelled so good in there. Shajira and her hubby assisted us all w measurements, and using the burners. Soon after, game time !! We went through trivia candle questions. I did quite well. Haha Oooohh the tunes were spinning, and they were spinning my way. Light soulful jazz. ABT was about to get the live concert they didn't know they needed. Haha We were able to browse retail items in store as well as have fun snacks. I found a few things that I couldn't leave w/o for purchase. I grabbed a car scent, candle smoootherer and a candle. Very reasonable pricing. I love everything purchased and my candle creation for the day I highly recommend this FEMALE black owned business to anyone looking for a relaxing time w self, and or friends !! She also does corporate events, etc. This place is the total package !! Thank you so much for a great time Shajira Brown !!

Most of the professors are great, and the classmates are usually working professionals with families, so it's not the same drama that you may get when the class is fresh out of high school.
