That is what I will be talking about here. First: PARKING. THANK YOU, Bronson, for having enough handicap spots when I went. They are all right in front, with flat areas and no curbs. I appreciate this. Second: check-in. The staff member was friendly, polite, and quite helpful. She made sure that everyone was completely masked (not an easy task nowadays, although one would hope easier in a hospital). Third: genetic counseling. I hadn't known what to expect, but was a bit worried because of family cancer history. What I got was a complete science lesson, and SO Much compassion and empathy from my genetic counselor, Cynthia Murray. She spent over 90 minutes with me, going through each section we needed to cover, and, with kindness and grace, answered all of my questions. I came in worried and a bit stressed, and left calm and feeling like I could do this. Isn't that what we want, from a medical appointment? She made it perfect (thank you!).

She is kind, compassionate and she listens! She remembers details of my personal life and always shows an interest in my family and what we have been up to. She is people oriented, while at the same time she navigates my cancer treatment and makes difficult decisions about my treatment. She has gone above and beyond in caring for me, even seeing me for a concern I had after a treatment when I didn't even have an appointment! My husband and I just love her and we couldn't be happier to have been placed in her care.

Called this afternoon to schedule a routine visit--- spoke with a lady named Sarah who was not…read morepleasant and was extremely rude. She gave me a couple dates-- first one was next week. We went back and forth a couple times and she kinda said that they are booking out until April of next year and they just have a couple holes. I said I am off most Mondays and then she said the next available Monday isn't until January 15th--- as I am looking through my calendar I express I really was hoping for something before the end of the year. Before I could even finish to ask if they have a waitlist she informs me that I was due for my checkup in December of 2016 and I've waited awhile. Ok? Haha she said yup. You waited awhile. I have a 6 mo old and a 2 year old. Haha my teeth weren't my first priority. Just bad business etiquette. I was also calling to schedule my sons first (just turned 2 years old) apt... but wasn't even able to get to that point. Looks like my husband and I will be changing practices and my son will be getting established at a more friendly practice. Wasn't asking for the moon just some courtesy. I would like to add that the previous time I was there my dental hygienist was very nice and made me feel comfortable and did an awesome job!

With a miserable, killer toothache, I called these folks on a Thursday. They didn't have time to…read moresee me that day, OK, I get that. We made an appointment for the next Tuesday leaving five days to wait for some relief. So I showed up on Tuesday and they diagnosed an infected tooth that would have to be pulled, but didn't have time to deal with it right then. They loaded me up with oxycontin and antibiotics, then sent me on my way, still dealing with the torturous pain. And there were no appointments available until the NEXT Tuesday. Next Tuesday finally came, and they called to reschedule the appointment again! Now it's Friday late afternoon, and they just called to tell me that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, I'm on my own, back at square one. It's Friday, everybody else is closed until Monday! And the cost of the office appointment is down the drain. I'm sorry that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, and hope that everything comes out OK for him. But surely the staff there knew they wouldn't be able to accommodate their patients. Couldn't somebody at Otsego Family Dentistry have mercy and let me know earlier? I think one star is overly generous.

Saw the comment below, Dr. Merda went to the emergency room & everyone was notified. He is on medical leave for a little bit. Everyone there is hard working & doing the best they can. Also I know they don't prescribe oxy & they more then likely referred him to an oral surgeon & he didn't want to do that. Anyways, great office, great staff, would recommend to everyone :)

She exited the room and relayed the information to Dr. Doan. He actually laughed and made negative reference as to how I was trying to diagnose myself. All patients try to figure out what is ailing them. He and another fellow outside the door then spoke about the dangers of prescribing medications to patients who could be money grubbing and get you in the end. Please be aware that your patients CAN hear you as we wait in the room. I rarely visit the doctor and am a productive professional in the community who is certainly not one of those money grubbing people out to get you. Dr. Doan was pleasant in the examining room, but please be aware that patients can hear you outside the room as well. You offended me and seem to be disgenuine in your approach to patient care. My family has gone to this facility for about 15 years. This visit was a sad day.

Today I had to make a special stop on Monday for a make up appointment. On Mon, We'd, and Friday you can have the most incredible snuggly pug named Clark sit on your lap during your appointment and offer comfort. In fact I don't even need them to be a dentist anymore. If I could sit in the chair, listen to an playlist, sucking gas and petting this puppers it might be as close to heaven as you can find in this bleak and fading world. This dentist is a freaking revolutionary. The game is changed.

Typically, I do not write reviews for my physicians, but Visiting Physicians Association (VPA) are…read moreamazing. They are the family doctors that all other family doctors dream of being. As their name suggests, they are a group of physicians who make house calls and it is wonderful, especially when you are really sick. I have a terrible immune system, so the very last thing I want to do every month when I need to see my family doctor is go to my family doctor's office and expose myself to every single germ in their office, especially during flu season. My family doctor comes to my house where I don't need to think about extra germs. Recently I was really sick and needed extra care, including chest x-rays and everything I needed came to me. VPA made it happen. I had a chest x-ray while sitting on my sofa in my living room. With my old family physician, I would have needed to bundle up, have my husband take time off work, go to the hospital and expose myself to more germs while taking time away from resting. VPA is not the doctor for everyone, obviously, but for those special patients who do need that extra care, there is nothing like seeing that little white car pull up in your driveway.

Originally the wait time was around 30 minutes which was annoying, but not horrible. Over the last couple years the wait time has become worse and worse to the point where I've been waiting over an hour on average. My wait today was one and a half hours and when I finally saw the doctor she rushed through my appointment in a few minutes to get me out the door. Hopefully their service will start to affect the amount of clients they have and they will start to have time for their patients.
