I've been to Aston Oaks GC a couple of times. I often forget about this place being a regular restaurant open to all. The food here is actually decent and service was friendly and prompt. I always order wings if they are in the menu. They were good wings cooked perfectly. Next time I'd request them with a bit more sauce. My son devoured his bbq wings and was asking for mine. Beers served either draft or can and were cold, no complaints there. Full bar with a great tender. I'd recommend this place for a casual diner overlooking AO golf course or even a large group in the banquet room next door. read more

If you want a peaceful sit to sit outside, enjoy a cold beverage, and relax with a nice view, The Oak Leaf at Aston Oaks is the perfect spot. During the summer, daytime can get quite steamy. But evenings out here are pretty fantastic. They have a retractable shade to block the sun and ceiling fans keep the air circulating. Tables include traditional tables and high tops. We enjoyed a Friday night dinner with plenty of social distancing and I was pleased to see staff wearing masks. Their beer list has all the basics but includes some local beers on tap as well. What a delightful little restaurant inside Aston Oaks Golf Club. Our party of 5 was here for lunch on a Friday. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, although there were several hundred attendees at a golf outing for Elder alumni on the ground level. Service was consequently a little slow probably due to the concomitant golf outing, but we really weren't in a hurry, anyway, and the food more than made up for it. Their menu was surprisingly large for a restaurant of this type. And the portions were HUGE. I ordered a double decker BLT and there was easily a pound of bacon on it. I could only eat half of it and took the rest home. My wife got a steak hoagie, and again, could not finish it all. Overall, a pleasant experience, and we will probably return. read more

But if you're looking for something with a more sit-down feel or want to watch golfers finishing up the front nine from the covered patio, this is your spot! Almost all of their dishes are made from scratch and love. I've had their meatloaf (just like mom used to make) but on this occasion I went with a soup (french onion) & salad (harvest) combo. The soup was seasoned extremely well and not overly salty like some chain restaurants. And the salad was a generous portion and fresh. They have so many menu options to choose from you could eat here every day for a couple months and get something new each time. They recommend reservations but on a weeknight you might be alright without one. Even if you're not a golfer, this local restaurant is a must-try as their food is well over par! read more

Great venue for wedding receptions and ceremonies! I am a local wedding photographer, so I am at more venues than most. I recently shot a wedding ceremony and reception at Aston Oaks (Oct. 2011). It was just gorgeous! The staff was awesome - we took the entire wedding party out on the course for photos. They went with us and helped with golfers. They took us out for the pre-wedding session, too, and drove us through the entire course, showing us good places for photos. The best spots are by the river and waterfalls (there are two - one by the club house and one on the course). The many bridges also offer some unique photos. With the fall colors and all the trees, the photos were beautiful. And we got a gorgeous sunset - right by the club house in the putting area. The ceremony was held in front of the gazebo. It was very picturesque - with the trees in the background and the blue sky. The club house provides nice shade for the guests (depending on the sun position, of course). We had some bright setting sun on our couple/wedding party to deal with briefly - it wasn't too bad. Another plus - you are the only wedding there, so you get the entire place to yourself. No worries about the wedding "next door" drowning out your music or anything (which happens at some venues). It's nice to have the patio area in back, too - especially with a nice evening. I really like the leaf theme they carry throughout, and the wood dance floor is spacious. In summary - I would definitely recommend Aston Oaks to couples looking for a wedding venue with some great outdoor options and lots of pluses. I must admit, first and foremost I am poor playing golf fanatic! I love to be out there swinging for a hole in one and hoping it stays in bounds! This course has much to offer for me an every golfer. Great Jack N design. Lots of hills, slopes, trees, sand traps to aim for. I say aim for because I like 99% of golfers I play with, we never hit for what we aim. Took me 10 years of aiming for the fairway and hitting the trees to figure it out, but alas, I get it. Anyway, it adds a lot of challenge. So many great holes that scream---come after me, I dare you. Granted most of my shots cause the course to laugh back at me so I shouldn't take its dares so often, but then again it wouldn't be as much fun to play it safe. Now for some cool things to know. When you walk in club house, you get greeted by sincerely friendly people. Pat, behind the counter was awesome. Did not see him today but last year when we were popping in, he was awesome to deal with. He is like everyone else there. Just cool folks. In the proshop-When it comes to buying a logo shirt or anything else, they charge barely over 1/2 what other pro shops charge and about what you can get a non-logo shirt at a sporting goods store. When asked why so inexpensive, they explained its just good business not to overcharge folks. In the bar/dining room-more of same great people. The food is always excellent! They once hired a chef from Jeff Ruby's I hear who created the menu, may be folklore, but regardless, fantastic bar food! And a favorite of mine-Ice cold drinks to chase down grrreat food, and improve a bad score! read more

I have played here a lot and my most recent experience was probably the best one. (It may have been because I played some pretty good golf though). Anyways, Aston is a Jack Nicklaus designed course. It was in really good shape when I played over Memorial Day weekend. I will come back. To those who like to get a good walk in while golfing, this would be quite the challenge for you. There are some good sized spaces between holes, riding is almost a must. Oh and the staff was great as well. read more

Very nice course! It runs on the hills of the Ohio river valley; on one hole you get an amazing view of the river. The course itself is one of the best I've played in the tri-state area. The fairways & greens were championship quality. It's not too hard, but definitely provides a challenge. The GPS is a lot of fun too. Highly recommended!! read more

Wow! We just had our wedding at Aston Oaks Golf Course and it was amazing! Lindsey is so easy to work with and makes sure everything gets done. Communication is awesome; there is always a timely response to any questions or requests. I am a big DIY person and Lindsey allowed me the opportunity to thing outside the box and create the reception my husband and I wanted. Lindsey has an array of things that you can use for your centerpieces. The dance floor is big enough for a nice size wedding. They also have a projection screen for any slide shows and a tech Lindsey and the staff go out of their way to make sure that you have the perfect evening. We also had our rehearsal dinner in the Oak Leaf restaurant. We had a limited budget and worked with Lindsey to set up a pre-set menu for our guests. The food was amazing! We spent the day on the golf course taking pictures. They arranged to have two drivers take us around the course on golf carts. The drivers were knowledgeable about the best locations. Our driver, 'Gimpy' was the nicest man! And my husband and boys loved their driver Howard. Both gentlemen really made us feel special. The ceremony was wonderful. An hour before the ceremony I asked Lindsey to changed the decor of the gazebo because of the wind. Instead of asking questions, she went to work and it looked amazing for the ceremony! The reception went off seamlessly. The staff worked with us to make sure we got everything completed in a timely manner. We heard nothing but compliments on our food-- especially the 3 cheese mac with bacon. Our friends loved Bruce the bartender. He was quick with service and chatted with our guests to make them feel welcome. Our night ended with the staff helping us get things together and ensure we had transportation to get home safely (we had hired a limo and were waiting for a second pick-up). My new favorite public club in the tri-state area. The facilities are private club quality. Beautiful homes and condos line many parts of the course. One hole provides a great view of the Ohio river and valley. Nice water features on many holes. The course (Nicklaus Design) is scenic, challenging, but fair. Conditions were good given the dry summer. At $49 (cart included) I think it's a heck of a value! The only eyesore is between some of the holes the cart path winds through areas where there are high voltage towers, and the utility company doesn't obviously care about how they maintain. Doesn't affect the golf experience. Pay close attention to pin placement on approach shots...a few of the greens had killer placements. Note to fellow golfers: Fix your ball marks! It seems more and more golfers don't bother to fix ball marks, fill divots, etc. read more

I cannot comment on the golf course, but I attended a wedding and reception here and this was truly a brilliant spot for such an event. The weather was great, which really added to the beauty of the golf course. The ceremony was held outdoors and the photo ops were just beautiful. After the ceremony the wedding party went off to take photos with the professionals and they had a cocktail hour. Popcorn, cocktails, and fingerfoods. Yummy! The staff was great about making sure everyone was taken care of and didn't have to wait in line too long. There is a small fountain/waterfall thing outside that I noticed many of the guests taking pictures of and in front of. Beautiful. Dinner and dancing were held inside in the dining room and the service inside was equally attentive. The dinner was buffet style, and the servers made sure that the trays were never empty. The staff was so friendly, the man in the pro shop was very helpful and kind. The course was very well kept and a lot of fun!

The course itself is nice- played there a couple times while visiting Cincinnati. However was very displeased with the starters and employees working there. They allowed a 5some to play together (ahead of us, a 2some). The course was jam packed as it was a warm day in early February- and any decent course will not allow 5 people per group. When the group refused to let us pass, we talked to the starter and front desk employee (Michelle, who was extremely rude) - we asked if someone could talk to them to let us pass. We were told before teeing off at hole#1 that they were very quick and won't hold us up. We waited until hole 6 to see if they would let us pass- each hole and every shot we were waiting 5-10 minutes. The employee Michelle and starter were very rude about it - and will no longer be spending my golf money at this course. read more

We hosted a rehearsal diner for over 100 family and friends. The staff at Aston Oaks could not have done a better job. Lindsey was extremely organized in her preparation. The food was plentiful, well presented and delicious. The servers were attentive. The service met the time schedule that had been discussed. The bar tenders were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a beatiful night so the bar planned on the patio worked out great. The room was set up exactly as discussed. The pricing was very reasonable. Have played this course many times, and has always been in good shape, even given the high volume of rounds that they book. This time, first time this year, the course was in terrible shape, fairways were a disaster, burnt and crabgrass starting to creep in. Also, tee boxes were horrible, it looks like your not taking care of the course. You should not be charging $50 when it is in this bad of shape. Brought two players who have never been there, the whole way down, bragging how nice it was, hour drive by the way, and I was so embarrassed playing on this course today. Taking our money and doing nothing to the course is not good . Really doubt if we will come back. What a great layout read more

Absolutely beautiful course with excellent customer service. The carts have GPS and you can tally your score. You can even order food through the touchscreen in the cart. The course is very unforgiving. The greens and fairways are narrow and the slightest mishap could place you in the trees for a couple strokes. The greens are speed lightening and sit on hills. You have to be experienced to play this course. read more

Inept management, poor customer service, not willing to honor contracts. They were unwilling to honor a gift certificate that was purchased as a gift. Manager Nancy blamed their documentation system saying it doesn't allow them to look up the certificate despite that we had the purchasers name, date of purchase, and amount of purchase, so I was out of luck (and $200) and they were unwilling to do anything to allow us to redeem our gift. Warning: customer service at Sunday brunch very poor. The male hostess sat as by walking two steps from his desk area and pointing you can take that table. Being first time customers, we didn't know it was a buffet on Sunday. We sat until we flagged down a waitress, "hi we've never been here before....". She said buffet on the other side, like we were stupid. Then at the buffet while getting an omelette made, I said to the cook I wish I could flip an omelette like that. He says "ok". He seemed bothered that he had to stand there making me an omelette. Food was fine, nothing special. Everyone had a poor attitude except our waitress that brought us waters. Dark hair glasses and with a sweet voice. Thanks for being nice to us. But unfortunately everyone else's attitude and poor customer service made us say, we will never be back. read more

Very disappointing. First of all, tee times are only 8 minutes apart which always backs things up. Today our threesome waited on every shot which finally was too much so I drove in after 14. On the last 4 holes I passed 7 groups (we would have been the 8th). Not the first time this has happened to me at Aston Oaks. As I drove in I passed Drew Macke and told him how slow it was. Instead of apologizing he told me that the groups had all been coming in at around 5 hours. He seemed satisfied with that but its an hour to slow for most people. Also, putting green had no raised cups nor fillers to keep your ball from going in. Restaurant was open at the turn and I ordered a drink. The person working had no mask or gloves on. Pretty sure these are violations. And people milling around all over. Finally, the course was in below average condition and compared to the other courses I have played so far this year it was the worst. read more

This place was amazing! Everything I experienced while playing 18 holes was absolutely top notch. Service, experience, food and drinks were equally great!!! I have no idea how anyone has any complaints about this place? The staff was accommodating, overly friendly even. I ran into the owner, he was awesome! I felt like he rolled out the red carpet for me! Would recommend this place to anyone! I will be a regular for sure, I have played at some of the top rated golf courses all over, and have yet to find a more beautiful view than you will find here! read more
