So, I saved $15.00 there and paid $26.00 for 18 holes, that is very reasonable in my experience yet having never tee'd it up in KY before. The rain was light and the course was wet but playable until 5th tee, par 5, eagle opportunity! I totally nailed my tee shot, huge high cut--but the skies were against me and they opened immediately after the ball began its decent, dumping buckets of fat rain upon Boone Links. I wasn't gonna chase down my crappy Bridgestone B6 (decent winter ball) just to turn around and head back to the club house, I think I was as far away as possible at that point. Upon my return to the clubhouse, I was issued a full refund to play again. In NYC you can kiss that greens fee goodbye and in SC its a toss up. What defines a good golf course, as I may have mentioned prior, has a lot to do with the players experience and preferences. I like them firm, fast and long with no water and no trees, so I can bomb tee shots and not suffer penalties, that's not what you can get away with at Boon Links. You really need to manage the course and flight your ball properly as the wind was switching on my constantly. Additionally you have to be part billy goat to navigate and climb the hills, I was sucking wind while trying to get ready for my next shot in some places. Phew! Three nines totaling 27 holes, Brookview and Lakeview are the most challenging and Ridgeview is more for the less experienced player.

They need to have a policy that people aren't allowed to bring children on the course, we were stuck behind a group that had a few kids and they were running all over the course. We saw another man by himself with two young kids, and he even had one of the kids drive the cart for part of a hole. If this course had stricter rules or people watching it would instantly become a great round of golf.

My last lesson was right before a golf outing and I had a bad case of the dreaded shanks. The lesson consisted of a 45 minute mental lecture and maybe hit 5-6 balls. Hitting maybe 2 good shots. So this has been 2 years ago and I've learned more from you tube videos and no longer have the shanks. Said all that to say this....I recently was fitted for new clubs and the fitter says you don't RELEASE the club face, turning the club at impact. Andrew after 3 - 4 visits never noticed this!!!! Really! Hitting the ball better than ever thanks to a fitting. Don't waste your money on Andrew, In my opinion could care less if you get better or not!
