It is a fun…read morecourse that can be challenging from the tips, family owned as I understand, and we usually have a good time. Over the last month each week the course has gotten worse. They have let some kind of rot creep under the greens. We have watched it get worse consistently over the past month until the last weekend when they were completely unputtable. To make matters worse the greens and much of the fairways were hard pan. I knew we were in trouble on the very first hole when I had a 100 yard lob wedge straight down the chimney that landed on the front of the green bounced 5 ft high and rolled off the back. To make matters worse they raised prices this year and have let the course go to crap. I really like this course but it is simply not worth the money. I really want this place to do well but won't be playing it again unless it gets significantly better. We made a tee time on the course for the next weekend at elks run. It's worth a few dollars more to us to not have to put up with the aggravation. I figure over the last 3 years we've spent at least $8,000 at twin oaks. I just don't know how they're going to survive.

Two words: Hidden gem…read more Whenever I am feeling stressed or if it is an abnormally beautiful summer night I love to come here and hit off the top dock. I have been playing golf since I was three years old and this is a perfect oasis for me. It's quiet, serene and you can even get a strawberry shortcake ice cream in the shop. WIN! There is a small pro shop at the end of the long entrance. A basket of balls comes in $5 or $10. The large is $10 and is more than enough. This will last you about an hour. There are three places to hit, all of which go into a beautiful lake. The top deck which is my favorite, the tee's, and the grounds. The tee's are somewhat unpredictable and if it's hot out there is NO shade. My favorite part are the different colored boats in the water. If you hit any of them you pretty much win the day. My only real complaint about this place was that I didn't have my clubs one day and I just wanted to stop by and hit some, and the clubs that they have are rusty and straight out of the 70's. It might be a good investment for even a few new ones. So be advised -- bring your own clubs. Other than that, this is one of my all time favorite places to pass the time. Check it out!

We started with dinner and drinks at the bar. Our bartender was warm and welcoming and quick to serve us. I selected their Jungle Bird cocktail(if you come between 4-6 Mon-Fri it's only $8!), one of the best tropical cocktails I've had in a while. We split the corn ribs, Parmesan truffle fries, and buffalo chicken sliders, all of which were very tasty. There were plenty of televisions for World Cup viewing. The whole place feels like a very nice old English pub(fitting since the brand comes from the UK). After dining, we checked in with the receptionist at the entrance and she put us up in one of the personal gaming areas. These areas are spacious and could easily fit ten people and their drinks. There aren't any seating areas with a table right near them for "dining" but it would work well for shareables with a group. The dartboard interface was easy to operate and ran mostly without glitches. They make it really easy for you to self manage any issues. There was a wide variety of traditional and then more interactive games. The turns went very quickly with just two people and probably would've been a better pace had we had a few more in our group. The icing on the cake was being emailed the scores and some videos that are taken during play! They have certain hours that they are 21 and up only but allow all ages most of the time. We can't wait to bring our whole family back for some play!
