Clearly my special day with my wife was not as important as a trip and Craig hastily dismissed me via email and lacked the professionalism to pick up the phone and speak to me. As an FYI for potential shoppers here, the diamond market is veiled and very liquid. Prices and availability are always changing. It is to be expected that if you want more then a few days, diamonds may go out of stock. Thankfully, more diamonds are always becoming available particularly lab grown diamonds. Once the 3 diamonds discussed with Whitten's went "out of stock" there was no attempt to earn my business by simply shopping around with diamond dealers for another day or two despite my vocal intentions to make a purchase. Unfortunately Whitten's Fine Jewelry did not live up to their reputation and likely with business practices such as this will likely not survive the recession of 2023. This is the first coin place I've visited from my new jobsite, and I was quite pleased. I went there to sell some silver coins for a friend, and got a fair deal. Of course, I had to look around, and the selection of stuff here is really broad. Nice amount of currency, but nothing too rare. Both US and foreign coins readily on display for every price range. Lots of foreign currency as well, plus old bonds, supplies, books, and so forth. Appealingly messy, but not chaotic. I've seen better selections, but what bumped them up to five stars was the interaction I had with the store owners, two guys who were very amiable, didn't care that I wasn't a big spender, and were happy to talk to me about what I collected, what they were looking for, coin shows they've been to recently, and many other things. In other words, no condescending attitude toward someone with little to spend, because this hobby is interesting even to those of us who aren't buying high-end stuff, and they recognize that. They showed enough interest in my online coin trading that they let me sit at their computer and show them my website. Their cheap box yielded some stuff for me to trade online. She grouped my items into separate piles according to purity of metal, and she explained the value of the groups to me. She went out of her way to try to take as much as she could, and apologized for what she could not take. She was incredibly professional and courteous, and when she was finished, she offered me more than what I would have received at my usual place.
