Over the past few years I have purchased thousands of dollars of gold from this establishment. In…read morefact, EVERY TIME I have gone to this store I have always made a purchase. That being said, on a few occasions I wasn't automatically buzzed in because staff did not recognize me and they would tell me that I needed to have an "appointment" in order to enter. Each time I had to remind them that I have been purchasing gold from them for years and I never needed an appointment. Ultimately the owner would recognize me and he would then tell his staff to buzz me in. I told the owner and his staff that I realize that the ONLY reason why they are not immediately buzzing me in is because I'm African American and that their conduct is not only offensive but is stupid considering how much money I have spent with them over the years. The owner, to his credit, would apologize and tell me that it would not happen again. Today, it happened again, and not only did it happen again, I was refused entry. I asked to speak with the owner but was told that he wasn't in. I explained to the young lady that worked there that I am a regular customer and that an appointment was not necessary (per the owner). She tried to call the owner but he didn't answer (according to her). Sadly racism/caste discrimination is real. I will never return to this establishment. If anyone can recommend a gold/jewelry store that isn't racist please let me know.
