When I settle in a new place, work or home, I soon do a search for all the nearby Indian restaurants and coin stores. This is the first coin place I've visited from my new jobsite, and I was quite pleased. I went there to sell some silver coins for a friend, and got a fair deal. Of course, I had to look around, and the selection of stuff here is really broad. Nice amount of currency, but nothing too rare. Both US and foreign coins readily on display for every price range. Lots of foreign currency as well, plus old bonds, supplies, books, and so forth. Appealingly messy, but not chaotic. I've seen better selections, but what bumped them up to five stars was the interaction I had with the store owners, two guys who were very amiable, didn't care that I wasn't a big spender, and were happy to talk to me about what I collected, what they were looking for, coin shows they've been to recently, and many other things. In other words, no condescending attitude toward someone with little to spend, because this hobby is interesting even to those of us who aren't buying high-end stuff, and they recognize that. They showed enough interest in my online coin trading that they let me sit at their computer and show them my website. Their cheap box yielded some stuff for me to trade online. I agree with your other reviewer. 5 stars for my experience. Had some gold and even bought my silver from me at a better price than another competitor in the area. I also have some antiques that they were more than willing to help with value. U have me as a permanent customer, I'd give them 5 stars if they were open a few more hours, that's the only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars. They are there on Fridays and Saturdays. I went here to get a coin for my father. The inventory is impressive in both quality and magnitude. The two older gentlemen who run the store are very knowledgable and proffessional. Be prepared to name your price, but they are very fair in valuing their merchandise. Coins are proffessionally cleaned in front of you before purchase, and the owners are respectful and kind to customers. Also be prepared for a locked door, that doesn't mean they are closed, they just have to buz you in for security purposes. I was looking for a local coin shop and was happy to find that this one was semi local. I drove about 15 minutes to get here only to find a sign on the door 'out to lunch'.. Thankfully a gentlemen in a pickup pulled up and parked next to me.. He must have seen me peeking through the windows.. When he got out to enter the next store over, he said "oh those guys are usually in the bar next door.." I wasn't about to walk into the bar to make an announcement.. And I really didn't want to just turn around and drive 15 minutes home.. So I just decided to wait in my car.. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later these 2 guys come strolling out of the bar, over to the store and unlock the door to re-open the shop.. (Okay, not a big deal.. They do get a lunch break..) after entering the single room shop, I wasn't greeted at all.. so I felt a little unwelcome, but still browsed their selection.. I politely pointed and asked about a coin in one of the displays, just to break the ice really. I directed my question to a heavier set gentleman sitting on a stool with his arms crossed.. The other guy was 'too busy' sorting coins to even bother acknowledging my existence.. The gentleman on the stool, sitting half way across the room, didn't even budge but muttered a condescending answer, in a tone as if to say 'umm duhh'.. I was so turned off by the tone of his voice that I didn't even bother asking any other questions.. I only spent another minute or two browsing the selection before deciding that I didn't want to give them my business.... That was my FIRST experience... Probably about 6 months or so later, I decided I would give them the benefit of the doubt.. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.. Or maybe the alcohol in their system, from their liquid lunch had them groggy.. So I stopped in again.. This time I had a question about how much a few of my coins were worth.. This way I could at least have a conversation with them.. (I admit that I am no expert.. That's why I was there in the first place..) Again I was IMMEDIATELY treated as if I was a complete moron for not knowing every detail of the coins in question.. Which, even if I WAS asking a basic question, there is absolutely no reason to be talked down to.. I was absolutely insulted! But being the bigger person (in character, not stature) I politely thanked him and left... I will never be back... These guys are very impolite, and extremely condescending!!
