After a long and stressful apartment/condo hunt in downtown Bellevue, I ran into this little slice…read moreof heaven. Let's start with my experience.. I use to live in the Elements in Bellevue. The staff was great! They are a UDR company and the other UDR apts in Bellevue are Ashton, Ten20 and Belcarra. Ashton is the nicest I will agree, but the most expensive! Belcarra is the worst because they don't have AC.. WTF! Elements is 2nd to worse because whoever designed them was super cheap on the layouts. The elements is all about being modern, but sometimes the modern feel seems cheap if you don't do it right. Somethings about the building are sooo cool but some others are just sooo cheap and it gets me mad that I spend so much money on the very top floor, in the penthouse!, and still felt like they were cheating me on square footage. We tried staying in the elements when our lease was up but I just hated ALL of their layouts and I couldn't sign on for another year when none of the layouts felt like a home but more like a bigger dorm room.. Also shit was always broken there!! I guess just the crowd is mostly younger there and are reckless with the elevators and public areas.. I just couldn't live there anymore because I was looking for a home as an adult, not a pad as a student.. The bigger apts in the ashton were ideal but way out of my price range. Belcarra was out of the picture because of the no AC.. again, Wtf! Ten20 seemed like the only way to go. It was a little pricey but just enough below the radar where I could rent there.. the building was nice, amenities fine, layouts great. This was my back up until I found WA sqaure.. A little ways down from Ashton and Ten20 I found WA sqaure. I forgot to mention I also checked out the Bravern and as nice as they were, again out of the price range for a bigger apt. Also read bad reviews from them so that was a turn off. But we walked by WA square and I think their lobby is THE nicest lobby of all apt buildings in Bellevue, even better than the all so mighty BRAVERN! It just feels so rich and luxurious when you walk in, with the gorgeous fireplace, the beautiful floors, and the rich expensive looking furniture. I was veryyyyy impressed. The amenities were great! Nice large lounge, no pool but very nice spa with hot tub, and well put together gym. The only issue was that these condos were to buy, not rent. But luckily I checked craigslist and what do ya know, there was ONE condo somebody was renting out. We came and checked it out and it was exactly what I was looking for!! A true home sweet home, HUGE kitchen with island, large living room, bed room, den, and bathroom that connects to bedroom and den. Sweet upgraded washer and dryer. The TV was built in which was awesome and a FIREPLACE!!! Great views too. I literally couldn't have imagined a better home in the city of Bellevue. Also a great feature with WA square is that they do assigned parking, which is such a nice change from UDR apts as they do not.. which was always an issue. Their garage gate opens soooo fast unlike Elements. All parking is gated unlike Elements where you have to pay extra for gated parking. Each unit even comes with a large storage unit. They truly made it feel like a real home! I love whoever designed these as they were very gracious with the space and didn't cheap out on anything!! Even the staff is very professional. I had a lovely experience signing the lease with the agent Chanelle. There is truly not one bad thing I can say about WA square! If you are looking for a home, a place to raise a family, or just want a more mature and rich place to live, this is it!

One of the worst experiences that I've had since living there was last year they needed to do some maintenance in the parking garage. So what did they force ALL of their tenants in towers 1 and 2, to do? They forced everyone to pay for their own parking, off site, for a whole month. That's right, they made ALL of the tenants who lived there, to not only pay for their own parking for a whole month, they also made everyone park off site, and make their own arrangements to do so. We've had water floods from the above unit three times. I want to give more information, but my blood is boiling over just thinking about this situation all over again. We had a balcony as well, and the units above would constantly toss their trash, food, and cigarette butts onto our balcony. Management wouldn't really do anything about it. Most of the concierge there are friendly, in fact very much so. But one or two of them have been very nasty. One of the very nasty ones, thankfully no longer works there. At any rate, I'm through with this place. Wife and I wanted to buy a unit there, but no way in hell we'd ever even consider it again. Stay away.....far away. -j

Been here almost a year, and wow--what a ride. If you're into bad design, lost packages, and…read moremystery smells, this place might be your dream home. The good: Central AC. Yep, that's the list. Enjoy that sweet, cold air while everything else falls apart. Restaurants nearby, which is great since you'll be spending a lot of time wandering around looking for your DoorDash order. The bad: Garage horror story: Found a shirt with what looked like human feces behind my car days after moving in. Management's reaction? Shrugged it off and blamed a dog that doesn't even live here. A+ security! Apartment design straight from a startup office: Kitchen has a cubicle wall instead of an island. Closets are just a rod. No balcony screen, but sure--pets allowed! What could go wrong? AC vents? Smell like they haven't been cleaned since the building was constructed. Amazon locker roulette: Lockers are down by the dumpster. Classy. Don't be surprised if your package ends up with a neighbor--or in another building entirely. Access system overkill: You'll need three separate systems to live your daily life here. Butterfly app, SmartRent, and a fob--none of which work well together. Android users, prepare to be locked out. Food delivery scavenger hunt: No clear delivery instructions, and couriers can't navigate the Butterfly app. After 10+ times of searching for my food in random buildings or outside, I've accepted that my dinner now lives in the wild. Airbnb-palooza: Strangers coming and going 24/7, no background checks, and enough weed stench in the halls to hotbox the whole floor. Who needs safety or a sense of community, right? Bottom line: If you like cold air and chaos, this is your place. Otherwise, maybe wait for a management overhaul--or a miracle.

First few years were great (moved in 2016), managers were really nice. Shout out to Mimi, and then Schick, both were fantastic. But after they left things really went downhill. Management was just a lot more unresponsive, less helpful. Maintenance folks were good but of course they depend on management to relay tickets, so that was a problem. Turnover was a real problem as well - some just seemed clueless. The worst thing honestly was after we moved out. Manager was very lazy about how he handled the final inspection and refund of our deposit. I had provided him a new address to send it to and also had mail forwarding so that wasn't the issue, and of course he had my phone number and email address. I called but was simply told it'd be a couple of weeks. Still nothing so I email them multiple times, still nothing. So I just let it go. Fast forward a year and we receive a letter from a DEBT COLLECTOR (IQ Data Inc, a notoriously aggressive and unpleasant debt collector, look up reviews). Turns out the cleaning costs/final utilities cost more than the deposit - but the manager had failed to send a statement of charges, and worse, wouldn't even respond to my multiple attempts to follow up on our deposit/any charges. Instead he just let it go straight to collections... I asked if I could at least be refunded/reimbursed for the interest the debt collectors were charging on top of the original charges, a measly $27, but wouldn't even do this. Be warned, this is the sort of thing you may have to deal with after the move out. Not a rent paying resident anymore so they don't care I guess. There were also multiple break ins in the parking lot even during evenings when the garage doors should have been closed - seems they just left it open because it was easier e.g. for contractors. My car was broken in but nothing was stolen (don't leave valuables of course!), but a coworker who also lived there straight up had his car stolen. It might seem cheap for the location (still expensive of course, this is Bellevue), but it's for a reason. Updating my review since the new manager also broke their promise and ended up refusing to reimburse me.

They are always ready to help you and solve your problem. I can feel they really care about your problems and want to make your stay comfortable and happy. I had a package showed delivered but actually the mail man did not delivered to my door or in the locker. Manager MT helped me, we looked every possible corner. Although we failed to find it, he suggests me to send him the proof of delivery and he will help me asking the mailman where the package is. I really appreciate his help for me, which makes me feel much better from the frustrations of finding a missing mail. Besides, their building is concrete so that it is always quiet. They have air conditioning and they have great places for BBQ, game, party. And they have a gym. I like their decorations in the lobby and hallways. They have a lot of lightning in the room so you may not need to buy several floor lamps. I love their kitchen island, which save me buying a dining table. There are 7-11 and CVS next to the Meyden; and a 5 mins walk to Safeway. So it is convenient! Also, the downtown park are great for walker, jogger, dogs; the beach park has a stunning view all season, and super fun water sport time in the summer. The Bellevue square could be a great shopping place. And the Bellevue art museum is about 10 mins walking. I love living here and I recommend to live at the Meyden.

The Meyden has positives. The location is attractive, the property presents well visually, and some units offer beautiful views. Unfortunately, my actual living experience was deeply disappointing. A significant issue surfaced immediately after move-in involving my AC system and drain line. The problem required ongoing remediation efforts and frequent maintenance access throughout my tenancy. During certain periods, maintenance presence became a near-daily reality, and visit timing often felt inconsistent enough that I rarely knew when someone might arrive. During this process, I experienced multiple occasions where maintenance personnel were inside my apartment before I realized they had arrived. On one occasion, I awoke from a nap to find maintenance personnel in my unit. On another, I had just exited the shower and discovered maintenance personnel already present. Regardless of procedures surrounding access, the unpredictability and frequency of entry significantly affected my sense of privacy and comfort in my own home. I also experienced recurring drain/water odors, repeated notices, inspections, maintenance scheduling, and a general feeling of continual interruption rather than residential calm. Noise was another major factor in my experience. Environmental noise, surrounding activity, and sound transmission between units were all noticeable. Footsteps, pacing, dropped items, and neighboring activity were often clearly audible. One particularly difficult issue involved my piano. My piano was a major priority during my housing search, and I disclosed during touring, leasing, and move-in that I am a longtime pianist who plays frequently. At every stage, I was informed this would not be an issue provided I remained outside quiet hours. I followed those expectations. Despite this, I received repeated complaint communications regarding my playing. After discussing the matter directly, I learned the complaints originated from a single neighboring resident. I verified that I was not playing during quiet hours and obtained written confirmation that piano playing was permitted. Despite this, the situation escalated into direct confrontation from the neighbor before the matter was ultimately addressed. My move-out and lease closeout experiences were also difficult. After providing notice, coordinating logistics, and reserving an elevator, my midweek move-out during normal business hours changed unexpectedly due to an off-site staff meeting, requiring me to personally manage portions of the move-out process that I had not anticipated handling. Additionally, a prior rent accommodation related to the initial AC issue was effectively reversed during the early lease termination settlement, substantially increasing the financial burden of ending the lease. Attempts to negotiate a more flexible resolution were unsuccessful. Every renter will prioritize different things. Based on my experience, I would encourage prospective residents to carefully consider maintenance/access expectations, building noise sensitivity, operational processes, and lease flexibility when determining fit. I would not choose to live here again.

A construction site has been erected next door, and the noise and shaking is incredible. It begins, every weekday, at 7:00 a.m. and the beeping/slamming/crashing cannot be drowned out even with earplugs. Just for laughs, I checked the decibel level in my apartment at 8:30 a.m.; with no appliances running and seated at my desk (approximately 15 feet away from a closed sliding-glass door), the decibel meter read a very respectable 70 decibels. For the people who will rush to dispute this review, that's about the sound of a running vacuum or hair dryer. Except, of course, those noises generally don't persist for 8-10 hours per day. Oh, and they don't tend to physically shake the unit, either. I cannot open my sliding glass doors for ventilation because of the dust and smoke from the site -- but that's okay because I'm sure I'm getting plenty of it, even with all the rain, through the ventilation ducts. The unit's balcony might be a selling point, except it's unusable during daylight hours. The property manager was condescending, suggesting to me this long-term construction is part of the landscape. Pillar Properties is unwilling to accept the notion this construction has dramatically impaired my ability to function in the apartment. Meanwhile, I am immunocompromised and quarantined for the duration of the Covid pandemic. Even if I were vaccinated and able to move, the Pillar folks won't discuss an early termination of the lease. So I'm here with the banging and clanging and shaking for eight more months. To the point: Hello, devil. Welcome to hell! (And anyone who's thinking of moving here, know that construction has just begun and won't be completed until 2022 or 2023.)
