The clowns back in the 1960's rallied to city officials for a bridge to be built from Astoria to Washington State.

I had a one hour tour and a fun time of the history of Astoria, and the story of the 1922 fires that occurred. The tour narrators were constantly making the group laugh. We were taken down below the street and we observed vintage antiques and educated on how and where the 1922 fire of Astoria started and began. There were tunnels and cool things to see below. It was worth the $20 . Don't forget to tip on the way out.

I had messaged on 9/11 asking for 6-8 spots for my birthday (9/21) weekend adventure. I was sent a confirmation response appointment confirmed. When I showed up excited for my tour they didn't see my reservation and were very inappropriate when I tried to speak with them and show them my messages saying it was confirmed and I had an appointment. No where did I ever see a ticket option on the website. Instead of apologizing and trying to help resolve the issue he was laughing at me. I went from being so excited to highly disappointed. Very unprofessional. I even came back to talk to someone that could help me resolve the problem. They have cameras all over and saw it was me and said to everyone "Oh, look who's back!" And instead of making things better continue to mock me. When I asked if there is someone I could talk to. One guy laughed and said talk to the owner... and pointed to the original guy. He then proceeded to laugh and mock me in front of his customers. Telling me to contact my host in a very sarcastic way. This is NOT how I wanted to celebrate my birthday. I was so excited to check it off my bucket-list. Would NOT recommend!

I have always loved Astoria! This tour was a ton of fun, the guides are so friendly & informative. We learned a lot of history & got to see a lot relics from days gone. Plan ahead, make this part of your trip, or come just to do the tour! We did!! I'd recommend it for any history buff. We've done Portland, Seattle & Pendleton Underground tours - this is definitely a favorite!! Thanks again, it was entertaining & worth the trip!!

It was very entertaining. I had gotten tickets for the wrong date and they still accommodated us.

Goonies never say…read more..... Some movies are classics. I will forever love watching the Goonies. It has always been one of my favorites. The fact it was made in my home state of Oregon just makes it a little bit more awesome. Being in Astoria on vacation made this house a bucket list item. We didn't need to look through the windows at what the new owners had done. Or take items. There is a donation box. Please help pay for the constant vandalism. There was a time a previous owner had stopped access for obvious reasons. Let's try and respect the current owner and not keep the true fans from enjoying a bit of Oregon movie history. Just being in front of this actual lived in house from the Goonies movie is amazing. I really enjoyed thinking about all the movie scenes and how cool it would have been to be on set for filming. So much history. I know we've seen it already but I can't wait to see it up close again.

I've probably seen The Goonies movie about 50 times in my life. While in Astoria, we decided to…read morecome by to check out the house. It was pretty easy to research and map out how to get here. It's in a neighborhood on a private driveway. Be sure to not park in their driveway or the neighbor's spot. You can park in the neighborhood somewhere and walk up. There's a sign at the bottom of the driveway too, the owners know people will come by to take photos etc, so they aren't bothered by it. Just be respectful and you'll be fine. For any inconvenience, they put out a donation bin if you want to drop a few dollars for coming by. Cool to see the house that I admired as a little kid. Glad to have come by to snap a few photos and see it in person. We walked the neighborhood too, we were out of there in like 20 mins. Childhood memory fulfilled.

So much great information about the river and shipping!!! We saw a harbor seal, sea lions, a bald eagle, a crane and lots of seagulls and other birds. It was a little chilly so we were glad for our coats, hats and gloves. Watching from below wouldn't have been nearly as fun as being up on the deck. I have two suggestions for improvement and would have given 5 stars: 1. The boat needs some tidying up. Even if someone lives here sometimes, put things away, dust, vacuum, etc. so the first impression upon boarding isn't one of entering a messy dorm room. 2. Offer bottled water or some sort of light snack and beverage. It's a 3 hour trip. Sure we brought our own but it would be a nice touch. I imagine some of the local companies would give you a deal to offer their products and help spread the word about their delicious beer, chocolate, baked goods, etc. Well worth the cost and a great way to really see Astoria and understand this river town.

We were headed back at sunset. So pretty out on the river.

We got to get fairly close to these large ships that bring goods from overseas for delivery along the Columbia. They anchor near Astoria.
