Very few employees speak Spanish, which makes communication difficult for many customers. It is important to have staff who can assist customers in both English and Spanish. In addition, getting help from an employee takes an extremely long time. During my visit, I asked a cashier to hold an item for me while I continued shopping and planned to purchase it. Later, I discovered that the item had been sold to someone else. I found this very frustrating and unprofessional. What was even more disappointing was that the manager did not seem concerned about resolving the situation or addressing my complaint. I do not enjoy shopping here because of the poor customer service. Many of my construction employees and coworkers have shared similar experiences and have told me they avoid this store because of the service. Management and ownership should understand that customer service is just as important as pricing. If customers do not feel valued and respected, they will choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Well now it's the CW again, and from the looks of it not much has changed. Still the same long walks down the hallways in relative quiet, unless you are rolling the panel truck like I was. Friendly customer service through the phone when I asked about availability/quantity of corrugated roofing panels. Then at the store the staff would help find the appropriate wood screws. Whereas in the past I remembered older folks staffing the store, now it's mostly younger guys and gals though knowledgeable all the same. Can't put my finger on it, but it does feels different from a Home Depot but in a good way.

Modern and well priced. But the real treat was Richard. He was helpful, friendly, fast and I received an education in ceiling tiles. Something I didn't know I needed. Good information. I called to order a door and 2 windows for a commercial job and spoke to Alonso in the Montebello…read morelocation. I gave him the measurements, and he sent me an order to approve. First, he had the wrong number of windows, and second, he had the wrong dimensions. I emailed him the dimensions the same day, and he sent back one page of the first order, writing on it that he'd adjust the dimensions and place the order. I never got an updated order back from him. I called every day asking for it, and was told everything was good to go for my dimensions, and because of computer issues, he couldn't sent me the order. It was all supposed to be ready within 1 week. The day before we were to pick-up, I talked to him and he told me it was going to be an extra business day. I called that next day so I could send my driver, was told that Alonso was out, and the person checked and said our items hadn't even been ordered! I was told it would be fast tracked and available in 2 days. I called the day before and was told all was good to go. I called the day of, and Alonso told me everything was good to go. My driver shows up (after an hour drive), and is told by the warehouse that the glass isn't in for the 2 windows. AND the frames were the incorrect size. I called and talk to the assistant manager, and he assured me he would look into it. Alonso then calls me back and says our glass would be delivered the next day. It finally was at the end of the day. Alonso was never honest with me. Additionally, every time I called, I had to wait about 30 minutes on hold to even talk to him. And he never answered any e-mails unless I called first. He says whatever you want to hear, but beware. I'll never use this company again.

This is a "Wow" place, hardly recommended if you need bathroom and kitchen remodeling supplies…read more First of all, when I first time there, the store front is like nothing but when we I walked inside, "wow"!! owners are so friendly and very knowledgeable with varieties of choice. To me, it doesn't matter store is small, as long as I found what I like and especially they have very friendly price not broke my leg or arm. Also, they don't have "company policy", very flexible to work with customer's needed and that's what I love this place about.

Frank's Building Materials and Villanueva Cabinetry Workshop where they make and stain basic pine kitchen and bathroom cabinets to order. Building supplies include typical 60 and 90 pound sacks of cement and concrete, sand and gravel by the scoop, cement board, rebar, cinder blocks, nails, screws, bolts, brooms, et cetera. They deliver to the local area, they've delivered big orders for me to projects in City Terrace, Monterey Park and Lincoln Heights. When I pick up materials in my car, or truck they always load everything for me. Their prices are similar to big retailers like Home Depot, but much more convenient service. They will run around the store and find whatever you need while you wait at the counter. Villanueva Hardware a mile west at 3516 E Cesar E Chavez Ave is a bit smaller. I believe they have three additional locations but I haven't visited those. Frank's Building Supplies might smell a bit like oregano, because fifty years ago the building was the home of a Mexican spice distributor. I shopped there even then!

I spoke to Antonio ("Tony") and inquired about their store inventory of Bellawood Floor Cleaner. He confirmed availability and I drove to make a purchase. The online shipping costs were cost adverse. Tony greeted me upon arrival with the same great phone personality I heard the prior day when I called the store. He rang up my order, offered me a bottle of water and was a true gentleman loading my floor cleaner into my trunk. The experience was worthwhile and I'm happy to still have access to the Bellawood floor cleaner to preserve my hardwood flooring investment. Tony made the drive worthwhile with his professionalism and pleasant demeanor.
