It's ugly and does not look streamlined or technologically "clean" i would have refused the install had I come home early to see your outdated equipment but unfortunately my partner assumed I had approved it. We had it installed 3 days ago. 2 door sensors, 7 window sensors, a smoke alarm, keypad deadbolt, and an outdoor camera. $55/month. Free install. Free equipment. We added two more smoke alarms for $50/ea. 2 year contract. It disarmed itself overnight after the first day. It wouldn't arm itself again. Camera stopped recording and live view was disabled. We were told it was a software updated on THEIR system. THEIR software update on THEIR system bricked OUR installed system. Wat. We couldn't log onto the website portal and the app has been useless for over 48 hours now. They don't offer credits for down times but since we were new customers they oh so kindly offered a $30 credit. Their update was supposed to take 12-24 hours but we're almost at day three and we still have a non functional alarm installed. I have a feeling this happens a lot. Not happy and we'll be cancelling before the short 14-day trial period ends. read more

We have had the Digital Life "wireless" security system for less than a year. We were sadly convinced that adding this product would reduce our family billing. NOT TRUE! Although I like the system, and it helped catch a neighborhood bad guy, I will not renew the contract unless ATT significantly reduces my bill. Today the ZTE pad that was also installed with the Digital Life system, failed to connect with the DLC interface in the closet. I contacted ATT support and here's the summary result: My ZTE pad will no longer connect to the DLC. iPhone and iPad connect and function perfectly. AT&T informed me today that the ZTE device has problems and they no longer provide the ZTE pad to customers. Contact AT&T billing to get it removed from your account! If ATT offers Digital Life to you, get a guarantee it will reduce your family plan! And OBTW, use your Apply or Android device to control the security system. Update on 9/6/16 ATT asked me to respond to their survey: First and foremost James (in support) is very respectful and considerate. His responses were from ATT and scripted. ATT requires their support staff to tell the consumer they have a defective network and is the reason the ATT product (ZTE Pad and DLC) are failing to connect. ATT should never assume the consumer does know about their network and better than ATT. My network and 4 wifi devices were not the problem but the ZTE Pad is the problem and no longer supported by ATT. The result is I am no longer confident the ATT product and support process are effective. I expect a better resolution. Update 10/8/17 The review is still true. The ZTE pad was never replaced or repaired. In January 2018 the entire system will be disconnected and deinstalled. Before installing any system of security my recommendation is that you avoid any system that requires a monthly fee. There are many security products that you can purchase that will capture video and alert you of forced entry. read more

First and foremost my daughter was swindled by and ATT representative to add digital life to our family plan in order to keep our cell phone bill affordable. He also said it was a free addition to our plan. Now I being the holder of the plan, and an adult would never have fallen for such nonsense, however my daughter agreed and they put a system in the basement of my three story house. In other words only the basement is protected. When I called asking to cancel the service because I was not happy when I started getting billed every month, they told me I would have to pay $500 for a cancelation fee. I have no idea how this system works since I don't even think it is hooked up properly, however the initial situation I face tells me people should stay away from this company. read more

If I can put 0 starts I would!! HORRIBLE SERVICE from they very beginning. I found out about Digital life at an expo where the display showed a Nest thermostat. Went to my local AT&T on 4/3 and inquired about the service that display also had a Nest thermostat. They upsold me at the store saying since you are getting the "nest" thermostat you should get the entire package for your home. I was told my appointment would be 4/8 then told its not available scheduled for 4/15. on 4/6 I got a text that 4/7 was available for install. I replied yes immediately then took off from work. 2 hours later a text comes in that the 7th is no longer available, now I wasted a personal day...it gets better.... Today 4/15 the tech arrives, starts installation, I noticed no Nest thermostat, so I let him know the main reason I got this was because I wanted the Nest, "oh we don't carry or sell those" you have to buy your own!!!! are you kidding me every display associated to the service has a nest on them someone should have mentioned I needed to purchase it separately I would have had it for the tech to install. Then he make a ton of holes in my walls to install a big AT&T box, the camera outside and my door lock, and says their service is currently down. he will be back, two hours of him waiting in the car, then tells me they will reschedule my appointment and leaves. door lock works nothing else I have 2 big boxes of crap in my living room. I get a call from them to reschedule and I'm told the next available date is 4/26 8am-12p I have a morning job so need a PM or weekend so the next appointment is 5/27 yes over a month from now how wonderful. Now I'm pissed, I call customer care and they didn't care, a supervisor said "that is the soonest date we have we don't prioritize customers that have a partial install" so I say "I want to cancel it or what can you do to change my mind". AMANDA then stated I cant help you further, you need the retention department I can transfer you and hangs up on me. so I call back and spent 30 min with a rep who tells me she can put me on stand by for an appointment. NO I want to cancel on hold again and then says oh I can give you 100$ credit. really money I want service not money. I said if I cancel I get my 100$ back anyway so no I'll cancel. now I have to wait for them to come take there crap. I purchased the Nest and installed it myself. I will be buying the ring service that hooks up to my phone and has a camera and door lock. I am an At&T wireless customer for over 11 years never seen such lack of service from them as a company. I am kind of ashamed that they even have a department that can care less about the customer. read more

How do you give less than one star ? This system is the worst, why oh why did I leave ADT ? If it works don't fix it. I had this system installed and it has not worked once since day one. The camera has never worked and they installed a keyless door lock that has locked us out of the house after the battery suddenly failed without warning. Never buy this service! Worse customer support! This business is probably going down and the staff at call centre is demotivated so they don't give a damn about your problem and not only put you on hold for hours but appear to be deaf at times and repeat things life a parrot. I bought this service along with U-Verse bundle and the cameras started bringing the whole Internet service down (Digital life feed requires internet connectivity and connects on the back of the modem). It was vetted by both U-Verse and Digital life. They won't allow me to cancel the service in spite of their fault without paying the full service contract fee. I spend hours with the call centre staff with no luck and ultimately decided to exercise my consumer rights by writing to Consumers protection office. read more

Let me begin by saying that it took three weeks to finally get ahold of a representative that would schedule to have the equipment installed as the original tech couldn't finish it because of some paperwork issue in corporate. I had to call five times before it was resolved. That should have been the first red flag. Then it was installed all good and the fist bill came which was wrong. I was billed for equipment that was provided for the inconvenience. I tried again calling 3 times and reported to the BBB twice without any response at all. AT&T Digital Life is simply awful. I would have preferred a zero stars option. Installation took three visits with misinformation given to us. App has gone down twice this week. Now system inexplicably needs to be rebooted, but they want us to do the repairs. If they send a technician, they want to charge us a service fee for their recently installed system. This is post #3, (read post #1 and #2 for full understanding) on 2/4 I called (DL) and spoke with Mya, who informed me that the equipment still has not reached the warehouse, she took my number and stated she would call the tech. find out what happen to the equipment and call me back. No call back 2/5 or 2/6, How long does it take to get in contact with your own employees? Your tech. came and took the equipment. What he did with it, I don't know, but you will not give me a refund until you find it. R e a l l y? How is that my fault? Finally, on 2/6 I explained everything to a gentlemen named Ron, who said he was a Manager, he reviewed my issues and promptly issued my refund. I received the refund back to my debit card on 2/10. What a headache but I'm glad it's finally over. Don't fall for all the bells and whistles Digital Life has to offer, focus on the quality of the equipment, service, and how well it works in your home, the tech will tell you your at 98% or even 100% (I was, and still have so many issues with malfunctions) Remember you or your family safety can't be protected with a bell or a whistle. Research other services, find what will work for you and your lifestyle, don't let that $29 price per month help you make a decision, you'll regret later, Big Time! Never, never, never sign up for AT&T digital life. They have missed three consecutive appointments to fix our alarm system. That's three separate four-hour windows where we wait around for nothing. My alarm was offline after a power outage. We called technical support to fix it - they talked us through a procedure that we later found out was wrong from another tech support agent. When I called to complain, again, on a Tuesday, that they were in breach of contract and we just need our alarm system to work, they said they'd return my call on Saturday. They are a bunch of clowns over there at the national center. No matter where you live, you will not be safe with AT&T's digital life home alarm system. Dealing with their customer service will probably raise your blood pressure to the point where not having an alarm is the least of your worries. We switched to ADT and have never been happier. AT&T U-verse digital life system is slowing my internet with Cox Communication. I have upgraded to Cox 2nd to the top internet which is 100 mpbs and my internet continues to drop, run slow. I disconnected my digital life by unplugging the camera and my internet is now running fast again. I have called before without any assistance and would like to cancel my services without being charged a termination fee. I should not have to endure any inconvenience because your camera system does not coincide with my internet service provider! Your FB representative advised to contact the retention department for assistance. I contacted 855.288.2727 spent over 25 mins with Richard in the Nashville retention office for him to tell me there is nothing he or his floor manager can do. It will take 72 hours to escalate. Then I was threaten to be charged 400 termination fee if I cancel. 1st and for most I was never advised that your camera system uses bandwidth nor was I told it will slow my WiFi down at the time of installation nor the time of ordering service! That is not acceptable and I will not be punished for not keeping your services. Richard's solution was to keep the service and take the camera off my account, if I requested a camera that means it is required and taking it off is not an option. I would like this issue escalated, terminate my contract without termination fee as soon as possible! It is not as if I am canceling just because, I am canceling due to your services interfering with my wireless services. RE: DIGITAL LIFE -- WORST THING I HAVE EVER SPENT/LOST MONEY ON INCLUDING THE TIME I GOT ROBBED -- WHICH IS WHY I GOT THIS HORRIBLE PROGRAM IN THE FIRST PLACE. Initially I was told certain things would be included with this and was NOT told about a 2 year agreement to service -- should have read the contract, I know. I have tried to sign up for paperless billing multiple times on their HORRID BROKEN PROGRAM. I can't log into the app on my computer as of two months ago, and the iPhone app is about as useless as a guitar without any strings -- well actually worse because at least with a guitar it can be used as a drum. It "Times Out" EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRY AND DO ANYTHING. My thermostat stopped working and I spent THREE HOURS on the phone with ATT trying to fix it, had to leave my house because I have a life, and scheduled a call the next day, which never came. If I want a tech to come to my house I was told that I will have to pay for him if he determines he wasn't needed to fix the issues. My outlets are offline too -- and my lights go on and off as they do so please which is stupid and a HUGE waste of money. My thermostat is completely unable to be programmed (another HUGE WASTE OF MONEY). My cameras DO NOT CAPTURE DATA EVERY TIME THEY SHOULD. Oh and since the day it was installed the lock on my front door has jammed every single time it closes so I don't allow anyone to use the front door because if they do it jams. I eventually just let the battery die on it because it was that useless. I'm sure when I change the battery it also won't connect to the system. Also to make the icing on this cake from hell even worse when the alarm did go off because my oven was smoking from some stuff on the bottom even though I had to type my code in no less than TEN times the alarm did not go off -- I typed it in and it would go off again while I was on the phone with the guy trying to get the stupid thing to turn off. This is the WORST thing I have EVER spent money on. I tried to cancel it and the lady told me she would give me all kinds of money off for my stuff that's been offline and the discounts never appeared on my bill. I have always RAVED about ATT -- I've used them for every single service I've ever had since I was 18 from TV to internet to iPhone and it's been amazing -- and then I got digital life -- I'm leaving ATT on every single platform because of it. I have NEVER been more frustrated with anything in my life. HORRENDOUS. DO NOT PURCHASE. DO NOT BUY. I would not recommend AT&T digital life to my worst enemy. I had the service for less than a year. Several times for days at a time, I was not able to set my alarm. What's the point in having security if it's not working? What am I paying for? I would call and be on hold for over an hour. I guess everyone with them was having the same issue at the same time. I would often get hung up on after being on hold. After 8 months of having problems, I called and finally got someone on the phone. The rep informed me to allow a technician to look at it and if it could not be fixed, I could cancel with no cancellation fee. I agreed, but the technician said that it could not be fixed and that I should cancel. So I did. Now AT&T is trying to charge me a cancellation fee. I have called to discuss. They are rude and hang up on me. I've written letters for them to listen to the phone call that was recorded. They refuse to do so or respond to my letters. I have written the BBB on them. We had our ATT Digital Life system installed yesterday and were very impressed with the level of customer service and hands-on care we received from the Digital Life staff. Our technician (Shane) was professional, polite, caring and patient as we navigated what system accessories we wanted and where we wanted cameras posted. Shane and his crew respected our wishes throughout the install process. Admittedly, the install took a lot longer than we expected, but from the first minute to the last minute of the installation, the crew did their jobs diligently, took lots of care and ensured that we were comfortable and satisfied every step of the way. We've had the system installed just under 24 hours and we're pleased with the current level of service and the ability to know what is happening around our home - in realtime. I recommend the Digital Life option for anyone who is looking to have a more technologically advanced system that carries a lifetime warranty from a BIG name. My home is a new area for the Digital Life team - Hudson Valley, NW New York - but I'm glad they're here. I was an ADT customer for more than 5 years and they could not match the price, level of service or equipment. I will certainly post again to update on my ongoing relationship with Digital Life. purchased an alarm in Nov 2013 Digital Life Account 111033132267. I sold my home in July 2015 and called them to notify of my relocation. They stated in July they do not service that area and to leave the equipment for the new homeowners. Also I would not be responsible for the remaining months on my 2 year contract. Well since then, they have billed me for early termination of the contract. I called back in August shocked to receive a bill and the representative checked my new address and stated they could service the new address. I told them this is not what I was told in July and then tried to get me to do a credit check and get a new system. This is not what I was told in July and it is obvious I had been a loyal customer since November 2013 until July. Now they are billing me due to some information their customer service rep provided to me and now want me to pay the balance. These practices are deceptive and I would recommend NOONE to do business with ATT Digital LIFE.... STAY AWAY... Very disappointing and I Will share my story with EVERYONE I KNOW, website, BBB,etc.. BUYER BEWARE Today I was supposed to have AT&T digital life security system installed in my home. That did not happen--and will never happen. I waited four hours for the technician to arrive. It was only after I had called customer service did I learn that the technician LIED and stated that I could not be reached via phone or text so my appointment was withdrawn. The representative offered to re-schedule my appointment the next day, which I found insulting considering that I had scheduled the appointment over a month in advance; I received a text message two days prior to confirm my appointment (the confirmation text was received at the phone number the technician claimed was non-responsive); I had taken time off from work to accommodate the appointment and, I had already cancelled my other security service. I proceeded to cancel the installation and requested that the representative refund my money and make arrangements to retrieve the equipment. I was told that I would have to return the equipment before I could receive a refund. I found this request unconscionable and am willing to take the financial loss at this point. I would not lift a finger to move any of those boxes anywhere except to the trashcan. Once again AT&T was successful in taking my money and not delivering on service. Luckily for me, my security provider was more than happy to re-instate my account. read more
