Other person comes in at the same time looking to buy an iPhone. He starts with me, but also able to handle other person looking to buy a late model iPhone. I say she can go first, since it should be pretty quick - but ends up that he can handle us both, professionally & with courtesy. They ("Ali") definitely know what they are doing. Bright, intelligent, skilled with his hands. Says he loves his job. Had the iPhone apart and pulled the battery as quick as I can type this review. Has a new one iPhone on hand for the other customer, and talking to the other customer as she tries out their iPhone. She decides to come back since she doesn't have funds in hand, and he takes back the phone after they try it out. For me, he finishes up mine, shows me that the battery life is now 100% - and offers me a screen protector, and sure- why not (Cheap!). I have the iPhone back, and he offers to put a screen protector on my iPhone as well - no extra charge. Nice! I'm in and out in under 20 minutes total! Even as he's working with the other customer. Hard worker, good deals, knows his stuff - confident. Can highly recommend, but call first to work out the time and deal beforehand. Also, cash or paypal are best.

I've always been a PC user and recently decided to join this century and purchased a MacBook Air (which I LOOOOOVE, incidentally). I had it just about three weeks before it had a major accident...a rendered unusable sort of accident that I can hardly speak of without getting mad all over again. I thought it was not salvageable. I ran to the Apple Store in tears asking for guidance, and oh how they steered me wrong. They recommended a place called Kroll Ontrak way down I66. I drove out there with my machine and left it with them for three days to "analyze it," for which they charged me $65. They called me back once it had been brought back from "the clean room," whatever that is, and told me that they had taken the liberty of beginning the downloading process. I thought that was all really considerate until they gave me the quote for this service. And I choked on it. It wasn't much really; they only wanted my mercedes and my first born child. And there was no room for negotiation. None. So I took back my computer, paid them for their so called analysis, and was on my merry way. I turned to Yelp and found MACS in Alexandria---what a stroke of luck that turned out to be! I called and spoke to Will (the owner). I told him about the fate that had befallen my beloved MacBook Air and his response was, "no problem, bring it in." He was able to salvage everything: years and years worth of files, some new software I had purchased and coincidentally lost the disks for, all my emails, bookmarks and photos! On top of all that, he was able to then file it all away properly on my new MacBook Air. There were no "clean rooms" and there weren't any sort of mysterious processes like Kroll Ontrak had described to me. The best part was that he didn't want my car or my kid, just $125. SO, so reasonable. Later that day I had logged in to my new computer and remembered a question I had meant to ask him about something else unrelated. I called and he offered to fix it for me by logging into my computer remotely using TeamViewer (my old company used to use that software so I was comfortable with this--I know how it works). Talk about customer service! It wasn't even related to the original problem, it was just a question about a functionality on my computer. He just whizzed right around on it and fixed it with no effort. He also pointed out a great mac tutorial site to me so I could learn how to use my computer more effectively. SO NICE! I will not hesitate to use Mid Atlantic Computer Solutions again in the future. They are GREAT!!!

I was told to go to another authorized Verizon retailer in Alexandria and was hung up on. Then I called back again and no one answered. Then, I tried to set up an appointment to drop off the set top box and was refused. That's crazy, rude, and unprofessional. Note: All "Verizon Authorized Retailers" are basically franchises, individually owned, not Verizon company stores. I don't know if VERIZON company stores are any better. It was difficult to set up a time as well. I finally found an authorized retailer in Washington DC and was told that I could go in without an appointment and just drop off the set box for TV. What a nightmare, but this store in particular has been rude and unresponsive, even though I live in the same neighborhood. I tried to get something done with my Verizon covered IPhone cellular phone a few years ago, and had the same pretty rude experience with the Annandale store.
