Came in and met with store employee Adam. Adam first did not know how to use my id to confirm identity and we he finally got that down there was many more problems to come. I was trying to trade in my phone and he without my permission put an extra "next" plan on the new one. I realized he was doing this and asked him to take it off which he then fiddled with his tablet for a couple minutes and then told me he did. Once I got home I realized this was not the case. Furthermore online it said any condition trade ins's were available for the phone I wanted. He refused to accept my phone that would not turn on because it still had find my iPhone on which seemed completely irrelevant as it wouldn't turn on anyway. He tried to get rid of this by going onto find my iPhone on my new phone and erasing the old completely. The next day I went to Itek a "geek squad" like place to get a temporary battery so I would be able to transfer my old data that I didn't have backupped(I understand which was my fault) and turn off find my iPhone. When I finally got the old phone turned back on, it was factory reset with ALL of my data lost including 7 years of photons. Overall I had a horrible experience here and would recommend going anywhere else or maybe even switching to Verizon. read more

Our iPad broke on vacation and we needed a replacement ASAP. I asked for the current generation with USB C and that was it. I was sold a 9th gen with a lighting connector, and they also added a protect advantage plan. When we got back to our condo and realized we were given a 9th gen with lighting it was too late to get one anywhere else since we were leaving in the morning. Once I got home, returning the iPad was also a nightmare but it's since been handled. I've been with AT&T since 2006, and this event has caused me to look elsewhere, I'm currently making plans to move everything to their top competitor based on this stores actions and the problems this stores actions created for me. read more

This store had signs all over stating that if you wanted to trade in your Phone 11 a IPhone 14 would be an even exchange. I handed Jonathan R a brand new Phone 11 still in the box not activated and he did not credit me for the phone. Nor does he know where the phone is. I am now billed for the Phone 14 of $1100. I have been trying to get this issue resolved since October of 2022 and whenever I call the store they get hostile and hang up the phone. I would go there but I live 18 hours away. read more

1st, the Manager was incompetent and rude. He slammed service in on my line when I did want it. He did not explain service fees. He never asked for my account access 4 digit passcode before accessing my account. Once in the account he changed the wrong ph number them said he did nothing wrong. Switched from Verizon to AT&T. The customer service rep did the following. Set me up with a business account and never asked me if I had a business. It was a consumer account. Set me up with the most monthly expensive plan when I didn't need it. Added insurance and didn't ask me if I needed. Long story short, this guy is maxing out everyone's bill to make as much money on his commission as possible. It's ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. I went to the Bluffton store and saw Melissa. It was an hour out of my day, and an hour out of her day fixing Justin's issues. If you need to switch to AT&T or add a line or get a whatever. Drive to bluffton and see Melissa. You'll thank me later. *Oh, I ordered an Apple Watch. It was delivered. I was at the Hilton Head store, trying to pick it up before I went out of town. They were at lunch from 2 PM to 5 PM. This guy is going to get fired soon. He's a scam artist. read more

I've been a customer of AT&T and their associated companies for over 25 years dating back to Cellular One to Cingular Wireless and now AT&T. After moving to the Bluffton/HHI area, calls started dropping and service was lacking. My wife's phone had to be restarted everyday. I contacted @ATTCares who were very helpful over Twitter. They mentioned I should go to the local store and get a MicroCell which acts as a mini cell tower. I scheduled an appointment at the Shelter Cove location only to be told they were quite understaffed. My name was on the reservation board and we were 5 minutes early for our 3:30 appointment. There were 3 other walk-ins who were there before me. One of the staff came over and said that although we had an appointment, we needed to wait until the others were handled. They took my reservation off the board and set up as a walk-in. Now if I had a reservation at a restaurant and they seated walk-ins before me, I would be a bit upset and probably never go back to that restaurant again. They finally did see us at 4 pm so it wasn't too bad. The girl thought the SIM card was bad and tried setting up a new SIM card. She tested it in her phone as well as my other phone and said it wasn't the SIM card, but the phone that was bad and I should upgrade to a new phone. I should have realized they probably make more money selling phones than giving away free equipment. She said they didn't have Microcells anymore. We also found out that after we left, the SIM card wasn't fully activated anymore and therefore my wife's phone wouldn't work at all for making calls (with or without internet). Now after 25 years---- Goodbye AT&T. Verizon was more friendly and strangely the phone now works perfectly. read more

Avoid this store. I have been an AT&T wireless customer for over 30 years and never had an issue like this. I bought a new phone at this store, and when I received my first bill, it had over $85 in reoccurring charges for things that the sales person signed me up for WITHOUT my knowledge or approval. (I called AT&T and removed all the charges with no questions.) What occurred was nothing short of fraud. read more

I cancelled my contract with DIRECTV, I returned all of their equipment and paid the final bill with a check. Then I started receiving emails demanding that I pay the final bill. One of the emails said that I could pay the bill by going to my closest ATT store which is in Hilton Head Island. I went there, not to pay the bill, but to get help with getting DIRECTV to acknowledge that the bill had been paid. I called in advance and one of the staff on duty, Jourdan, suggested that I come into the store. I described my problem and he looked at my documents, including a photocopy of both sides if my cancelled check. Almost immediately, he identified what the likely problem was (my check payment was credited to the wrong account) so he started making phone calls to DIRECTV and finally was connected to the department that could make the correction. Not surprisingly since we were having to deal with DIRECTV over the phone (not a fun experience) we were together almost a half an hour before I could finally leave. Jourdan was very courteous, patient and understanding in helping me with a problem that does not even directly involve the store he works for. In addition, about a week after my visit with Jourdan he called me to say that he had just checked the status of my DIRECTV account and it was showing no balance due. Now I can rest assured that I will never have to deal with DIRECTV again. More importantly, I am very pleased to let AT&T know what a valuable employee they have in Jourdan and as a result I would have no hesitation dealing with AT&T in the future, D. H.West read more

Do not go there. Make purchases online. Employees may be nice at first but that is to rip you off. Manager, Melissa, is the worst. Employee, who is no longer there or was off the day when I went back in, lies and set up a fraudulent line. So I was charged for 3 lines instead of the two I have. Told my phone, that was only 2 yrs old couldn't upgrade from 3g to 5G-lie, told me phone was on sale-lie. So I ended up paying almost $700 for a new phone rather than the $250. This thief got a really good commission out of me. I hope the lady that straightened all this out for me sent the information to their home office. I really wish there was some legal action to take because they are doing this to other people. I even told her I was retired and on a fixed income, they couldn't care less. read more

Went in to get on of my data plans changed. After spending 10 minutes getting my credentials. correct (ab an interruption for another customer) they said they couldn't help me and to call *611. If I can call 611 to get it changed they can. Absolutely the worst customer service. Just really sad that I pay $200 a month to a very profitable company that can't get a simple in person service request done correctly! Shame on you guys! read more

I went in with an issue with my iPhone. It wasn't connecting to at&t's network. The saleswoman was visibly upset with me once she knew I wasn't there to buy a new phone. If her look could speak it would've said "you're dead to me". I know we have quotas to hit, but seriously there is such a thing as the slow play. Crush the customer service and people will come back to you. I've read some other scathing reviews about this store, as of right now I would say they are accurate. I think there must be some bad management driving the sales people to be pushy and disgruntled. Pull it together AT&T at shelter cove. We need ya. Oh, and i left a 2 star review here because once we finally established that I wasn't going to buy a new phone, she was able to expertly and immediately fix the problem and I was out there door in one minute. read more

Wish I had read reviews before using this store--especially from customers on this and other sites who complained about the store adding an unwanted/extra line. I upgraded my iPhone at the store five days ago and the sales rep insisted on adding a "free" third line, although I told her I didn't need it or want it. When i checked my account on AT&T website the next day, I discovered this "free" third line was actually being charged to my account at more than $50 a month AND that a Samsung Galaxy phone had been added to line (which i assume was initiated by the store totally without my knowledge). I spent an entire day going back and forth with AT&T phone and online agents, trying to get this line and these charges removed from my account. I also tried for three days to contact the store manager Daniel and was always told he was "unavailable." I left my contact info, saying I had an urgent issue, but for three days he has not returned my calls. So frustrating,. This is an "authorized retailer," not an AT&T corporate store, and as you can tell from this review, the customer service has been nonexistent. read more

After experiencing an issue with my iPhone not charging, I took it in to this retail store where I was greeted and helped very pleasantly, efficiently and kindly by Cindy. She patiently listened to my issue, helped resolve the issue, went so far above and beyond what I've experienced with other sales people- cleaned my phone (enabling it to charge again), helped insert a new SIM card in another (old phone) to guarantee if my phone stopped again I could activate the old one without visiting the store again (on a week long vacation this was priceless!). She did all of this, helping me quickly resolve the issue without making any sale- wow. This speaks volumes for AT&T customer service. I'm a huge fan. read more

I stopped in the store to see if I could get some assistance with some problem apps on my phone. I checked in with Cindy and she assured me I would be seen shortly, which I was. Cindy took the time to listen to my problems and not only offered to show me solutions to the problems but also offered to run a diagnostic check on my phone to be sure it was functioning properly. She was polite, patient and very helpful. I commend AT&T and hope they recognize the great employee they have on board with Cindy. read more

I spend over $3000 a year with this company. They can't support their products. Do not purchase direct tv as the women in the store say "I've never seen that" you need to call a number. Funny thing is that they will sell it to you to make a commission. Go to Savannah, Charleston or Canada or any other place!!! I have never seen such a poor service in America! I moved from Europe 20 years ago, and in HiltonHead a year ago. I was used to the incomparable American customer service until I had to deal with the ATT Hilton Head store's team. OMG! After upgrading in October 4 of our iPhones in Florida for our children, without any problem, my wife and I came in the store in November to trade-in her iPhone10 and my iPhone 6+. The iPhone 6+ was traded for $300 to be credited on the next 30 months, but they did not have the 12Pro we wanted to trade-in the iPhone10 for. At the time the trade in value was $800, to be credited on the next 30 months. We ordered it , and when 3 weeks later we came to pick it up. We waited while some other customers were served, one having his new phone set up. When it was our turn, the lady in charge started saying that we were late and that she was going to give the phone to another customer, then when we proved that we had told them that we would be out of town for 3 weeks, she relented but grudgingly refused to set up the 12pro, under the pretext that they could not touch phones because of Covid! We asked the manager to confirm, to find out that she was even more rude, but finally they both accepted to do for us what they had done for the other customers and we got the iPhone 12pro set up from the iPhone 10. Then the nightmare started. The $800 dollar was decreased to a $700 value, under the pretext that the trade-in terms had changed! Then they refused to take the traded iPhone 10, telling us that we would receive a return shipping box. We never received it, and after HOURS spent on the phone, on CHATS with ATT, being put on hold, then sent from one service to another, never got a box, but discovered that the Hilton Head store had "forgotten" to put on file that the 2 phones were a trade-in, leaving us with the full cost of both phones, while the iPhone 6+ had already been taken by ATT. What a business model! Was it my French accent, or a culture of "could not care less" but it reminded me of some terrible experience that I had in France with disgruntled sales people who hate their jobs and the customers that mean too much work. read more

First I went to the Bluffton AT&T store since I was out there anyway and proceeded to wait for about 25 minutes before I turned around and walked out. I got to this store on Hilton Head and was immediately welcomed by Sergio, who turns out to be a customer service and AT&T expert. He answered ALL of my detailed questions, explained the difference in data plans, and even explained our current bill. I wanted to know a few different scenarios with upgrading etc and he was incredibly patient and helpful. Jay (the store manager) was there and introduced himself and was also friendly and assisted in making the process quick and smooth. After walking in there simply seeking information on getting an iPad, I walked out with an iPad and two upgrades to iphone5! Sergio and Jay deserve to be recognized for going above and beyond. read more

went into the store this week and standing at the front entrance was this person with a very long face, when I told her i was having problems with my phone, she automatically said there was nothing she could do, and I was upset since I really want my phone to be in good working order, in hindsight when I saw this very miserable person at the front door, I should not have entered the store, but I was anxious to get my phone fixed since I spend so much money to AT&T to have service. Placed a call to corporate and the manager never returned my phone call, this is a small community, and I really cannot understand the lack of follow-up and empathy to help paying customers in good standing. My phone is still not working...this person felt the problem was with me and took no responsibility to help the paying customer and they should be ashamed with themselves for lack of good business practices, the corporate office should look at this company store since there are many bad reviews that have been posted on this site. read more
