My husband and I were very nervous about leaving our precious kitties alone with a stranger, but we definitely found a reliable care giver. If you love your cat/s you can do no better than hiring Lee to care for them when you are away. She is thorough, keeping a complete record of your kitty, including such things as the litter box/s location in your home. But if you have a senior cat or one with medical issues, you have hit the jackpot when you hire Lee either to care for them or to teach you how to administer home medical treatment, if and when it becomes necessary. Lee was invaluable to me in the home care of my beloved Scottish Fold, Velvet, nearly 16 and suffering from a myriad of medical problems including the genetic Polycystic kidney disease. Lee administered fluids and other medications and taught me and several friends to do it as well. She is caring, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable about cats in general, including behavior, food, nutrition and medical issues. She lives and breaths cats! When Velvet's internist told me that no more could be done for Velvet, I called Lee. She had previously given me the name of a veterinarian who does home euthanasia. She is the most supreme advocate for your cats and has their highest good in mind at all times. I've been using Lee as my cat sitter for more than 10 years, her and her staff are the best. You know that a surrogate you is at home with your cats playing with them, brushing them and loving them when you are away from them. I've had friends offer to take care of my cats for free when I travel, and I turn them down cause I know my cats won't receive the love and care that Lee and her staff will give. I came home from a trip and my cat appeared happy and fed. I am not giving 5 stars because I had requested photos of my cat to be sent to me each day so I could be reassured that she was being checked on. However, many times I had to ask for the photos and twice I was sent duplicates of photos of my cat. Example: I got a photo on Friday of her sitting on a blanket, and was sent the exact same photo on Sunday when I asked to be shown a picture of her that day. That definitely did not reassure me and caused me to worry and be confused if she was actually being checked on each day. Debbie gave me lots of suggestions over the phone regarding kitty litter to use, since my cat is diabetic and using the litter box a lot. I recently adopted a cat from the shelter and wasn't quite sure how to handle an extended trip out of town. I found At Home Cat Care on Yelp and e-mailed to set up a time for a sitter to come visit with me. Debbie called me to set up the appointment and took detailed notes on how to care for my cat. She sensed I was a new owner and offered some helpful suggestions on where to place scratching posts, toys, etc. While I was away, she sent photos/videos, played with my cat, and even offered to water some plants we have. My cat can be a bit messy, so I also suspect she tidied up a bit for us before we got home. You really got a sense for how experienced Debbie was at handling cats (and dogs, too!). In one sentence, they are the absolute BEST and this is coming from a high maintenance cat owner and who is very particular about my fur babies :) Other than providing great care and service, the cat sitters genuinely love my kitties and treat them like their own. She is very high strung and shy and has always been fairly traumatized the few times I have gone away so I am really impressed. Well, this review was a long time coming. I can totally recommend At Home Cat Care without reservation. Our cat Sweetie was 17 yrs old and on several medications, including subQ fluids, when we first asked Lee and her staff to look after Sweetie. Cherie took care of Sweetie during all of our absences, and for the first couple of times (at least), I think I texted Cherie every day and probably more than once a day. If she was annoyed, she didn't show it. :-) She texted right back and let me know how Sweetie was doing. I even locked myself out of my house once and Cherie graciously came over to give me the key. We sadly lost our Sweetie at the beginning of this year (she was 19), but if and when we are ready for another feline family member, At Home Cat Care will still be my trustworthy cat sitter. read more

Lee manages the service but does not personally service all the clients. My cats are healthy so Lee normally sends one of her employees. I used this service for 5 years and thought I was happy until I came home early from a 5 day vacation. I called Lee at noon on the third day of vacation and left a message stating I would return late that night and please cancel service for the (last) two days. Service was scheduled for mid-day, so the service should have happened before or shortly after Lee got my message. I arrived home around 8 pm to find no one had visited for at least 24 hours possibly longer. I first noticed two distressed cats loudly expressing their need for attention, there were no logs of visits, no mail had been brought in for 3 days, I found every electrical cord or appliance in my home, except the refrigerator, unplugged. Most appalling of all, the essential pet care items were in bad shape: heavily soiled litter boxes, empty dry & wet food bowls and cloudy water bowls with low levels of water. I asked myself how often has, this happened. How many times have I paid for service and the cats went unattended with someone playing catch up at odd hours or waiting until the last day? I called Lee and she was initially apologetic but in conversation she started reciting a list of critiques her pet sitter had expressed to her, giving the impression that my cats & home were quite substandard. I had paid Lee in advance so she kept the money for the full 5 days @ $27 a day. After this experience I decided I did not want to open my home to such critical people, so I asked Lee to return my key. Lee stated she would mail (USPS) my key. I agreed since my mail box is locked and secured. She did not honor the agreement and sent the key by FedEx with a signature required. So, instead of my key arriving in a day or two, delivery was delayed for over a week. read more

We were so pleased to find a service that specializes in cat care. Most sitters are focused on dogs. Lee came over for the initial visit which was very thorough and took down all the information about our two cats. You can tell she loves cats. Her and her staff took care of our kitties when we went on vacation for two weeks and did a very good job. We even got text messages and a photo when we were away and a hand written letter was waiting when we got back. This was the first time I have used AHCC and we were so incredibly pleased with the service and attention to detail. We just moved to the area and had a trip planned. I first spoke with Lee and then Kathleen. Once we met Kathleen, I knew my kitties were in good hands. Both my cats are shy and one gets very freaked out with strangers in the house. I did not expect Kathleen would even see her. On the first visit she actually came out and checked Kathleen out but the second visit she was out and about, very relaxed! The pictures and updates I got at each visit were great and reassuring that my kitties were actually enjoying their cat sitter. That is a first for them! I was so nervous moving to a new area and having to find a new cat sitter but I can now travel and not worry about my cats and their care. I have employed At Home Cat Care for over 15 years. When I first called Lee, I had two cats. Every year I take two vacations. Lee came over to interview me and the cats. She took lots of notes about their characteristics , daily care, etc. Claire was and has been the care taker of my cat companions. They are always in perfect condition when I return. Claire had to deal with my Somali cat, Dahlia, who was diagnosed with cancer--lots of devious ways to swallow pills. I lost Dahlia about twelve years ago. Then Josie who adopted me lived a long life--almost 20 years. While I had Josie, I brought Rose into our lives. Rose and Josie were great together. And, Claire dealt with the differences in ages wonderfully. Then, we had to deal with Josie and her recurring kidney problems. Once again, Claire knew exactly what to do. Josie finally passed and now Claire comes to visit Rosie, another Somali. For a while Rose truly grieved for her companion Josie. It was a difficult time. But, once again, Claire knew what to do when I went on vacations. Currently, it's just Rosie and I. No big issues to deal with. But, I know when the time comes At Home Cat Care will be there for Rose and her special needs. You truly cannot find a more caring and knowledgeable staff than Lee's. Claire has even watched over my plants when needed. These people are wonderful, trustworthy, and caring. You could not find finer individuals to take care of your cat companions.
