Hi , my name is Peter ( the cutest chihuahua) and my owners left town and thought they were dumping us with the Critter Sitter. The truth is that if I had thumbs and an Amex I would send them away more often. After a week with our fabulous Critter Sitter I feel more relaxed and confident. They always show up on time, exactly when they promised! A week with unlimited belly rubs and snuggles is exactly what I need. Maria comes by during the day to lets me smell the flowers and stretch my legs. My brother is afraid of the dark so Sarah is there to make dinner and keep us company. I am now on meds but the Critter Sitters have this covered! Now if only the owners would take my brother, Duke The Dog with them I could have the Critter Sitter all to myself! I am not good at sharing. P.S. apparently they send Mom a bunch of updates because she showed me all the messages after she got home.

Sarah is awesome! I've had her watching my cats for several years now. She genuinely loves animals and it shows. I appreciate the photos and texts she shares when I travel - it keeps me connected to my furball no matter where I am. Most of all - Sarah is trustworthy. I'm a private person and I take access to my home seriously. I feel comfortable with her coming to my home while I'm away. There are lots of folks who can care for your pets. Heck, there's probably a kid in your neighborhood who's offered to walk your dog or watch you cats. But when you think about how much your pet means to you --- go with someone you can trust.

    Teddy and Sarah!

My husband and I have never had a dog before so we were a little unsure when we decided to adopt our maltipoo puppy, Teddy. Since we both work during the day, we asked Sarah to come by to check on our little guy mid day and give him fresh food, water, and have some play time. She has gone above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. Here are just a few of the things we have really appreciated: 1) We were having issues with the potty pad and Teddy beginning to chew it. Sarah stopped by Petsmart on her way over and purchased a pad holder so that he could no longer mess with the pad and chew it. 2) Sarah helped us determine a better food source for Teddy by recommending a few good puppy foods. Sure enough, the food helped Teddy gain the weight that the vet mentioned he needed to gain. 3) We were unsure how to clip Teddy's nails, so Sarah recommended a pair of clippers that she has had success with and then proceeded to show us how to do it. 4) Sarah noticed some behaviors in Teddy that were odd and mentioned to us that he might have an ear infection. Sure enough, we took Teddy to the vet and he had one. We would have NEVER known if it weren't for Sarah's expertise! These are only some of the things Sarah has done for us... I know for a fact that Sarah is extremely knowledgeable on dogs and has a beautiful energy that makes our little guy adore her. She's trustworthy, reliable, and has made us better dog parents in the short time we have known her. I would not hesitate to recommend Critter Sitters to anyone in need of someone to care for their furry family members!

When I first spoke with Lynn, she suggested that her son, Jared, meet Briar before we left. At their very first meeting, Jared was able to take Briar for a successful walk. We met with him several more times before our daughter's wedding, and with his calm, patient approach, Briar became more comfortable each visit. By the time we left for the wedding, Jared was walking all three dogs together--and Briar didn't even need her muzzle. I can't thank TLC, Lynn, and especially Jared enough. Jared was absolutely wonderful with all of our dogs, and his kindness, confidence, and understanding of Briar made all the difference. He completely eased our worries about leaving them while we were away, and we're so grateful that he'll continue helping us work with Briar. If you're looking for someone who truly understands dogs and goes above and beyond, I highly recommend TLC Pet Sitting. My 54 lb Jindo does not do well with strangers, she is all bark but no bite. I was very anxious bringing her to any dog care but Wendy was willing to do an assessment prior to their stay. This was my very first time doing any sort of dog care so I was really worried about leaving them. They did really well and my other dog had so much fun (he's a social butterfly). The main reason I chose this place vs all the other dog boarding is because they offer a "home" living experience rather than a facility/warehouse. My dogs always freely roams the house and lays on our bed, couch, wherever they please so I wanted something similar and Wendy's house provided that. I couldn't bare the thought of them being kept in a narrow sleeping quarter locked throughout the day. Thank you for taking great care of my babies! This place will definitely be my go-to for any future dog boarding.

August 11th The Day We Lost Louie…read more Our six-year-old French Bulldog, Louie, died from heatstroke just two and a half hours into what we were told would be a four-hour trial day at this daycare. We were told the purpose of the trial was simply to see whether Louie could get along with other dogs. We were never told that he would be taken to a dog park or participate in strenuous outdoor activity. We chose this daycare because the owner told us she owns a French Bulldog herself, and because the daycare had very good reviews. We trusted that our French Bulldog would be understood and properly cared for. What happened that day is something we will never forget. 9:00 AM -- We dropped Louie off for his four-hour trial. 9:30 AM -- Just 30 minutes later, Louie was taken to a dog park for outdoor activity without our knowledge. We had never been told that he would be taken off the daycare premises or to a dog park. The temperature that day ranged from approximately 77°F to 85°F. 10:18 AM -- According to the daycare, Louie vomited after the activity. We were not informed when it happened. 11:30 AM -- More than an hour after he vomited, we received a photo of his vomit. At the same time, we were communicating about payment and completing a reservation for his future stay. We were given no indication that Louie was experiencing a potentially life-threatening emergency. 11:45 AM -- We received a phone call telling us that Louie was not breathing. 12:00 PM -- Louie was pronounced dead from heatstroke. Our dog went into the daycare alive and healthy at 9:00 AM. By noon, he was dead. What is especially devastating is what we learned afterward. We were told that they had never seen Louie breathing so heavily before. We were also told that they had tried giving him water, but he was vomiting. For a French Bulldog, excessive panting, vomiting, and difficulty breathing in hot conditions can be serious warning signs of overheating and heatstroke. French Bulldogs are particularly vulnerable to heat because of their shortened airways and difficulty cooling themselves efficiently through panting. Yet during the critical period when Louie was apparently struggling, we received no immediate warning and no update about his condition. The owner was also not present at the daycare at the time. We later learned that she had a doctor's appointment, which contributed to a delay in communication. While the adults were dealing with schedules, appointments, and communication, Louie was suffering--and we knew nothing. This was supposed to be a simple four-hour trial to see whether Louie could socialize with other dogs. We never agreed to have him taken to a dog park in temperatures reaching 85°F. We never imagined that he would be subjected to strenuous outdoor activity in hot weather. We are devastated that Louie was placed in this situation while in someone else's care. We trusted this daycare because we believed they understood French Bulldogs. That trust was shattered in the worst possible way. Louie was in their care. We trusted them to keep him safe. We expected him to come home. He never did. Louie was not just a dog. He was part of our family, and we will never get him back.
