The only downside to shopping here is that all those little (or big) treasures come with a hefty price tag. The markup is really steep on their imported goods. They do have a reward program which gives you access to discounts and coupons, unfortunately they don't put a big enough dent in the prices to allow me to come more often.

On the 20th of April, Rick sold us a LG, dual ice maker, 4 door refrigerator. It was delivered and installed on 4/22/26 at 9:30 AM. Our old one was taken away. Three ladies working at desk. Only one customer being served in front of me in line. The other two saw me but never greeted me or asked to help. Ten minutes later, it's my turn and I tell them I've been waiting in pickup for 20 mins. The lady looks at her machine and says "sorry. I don't know why I didn't see this". She walks around confused and asked other ladies for help and comes back to tell me to go to Garden center and show them a barcode she handed me. I pull around to the Garden center where they told me and nobody was there. No order in sight. I walked in to the young girl at register (who was recording selfies) and explained my situation and asked where I needed to go. For 10mins she struggled on the computer, her cell phone and even my cell phone. A long line formed where other customers were badgering me because I was waiting on the girl. She looked at me after 15 mins and said "none of my stuff is working and I can't call anyone. G to customer service" where I just was. At this point, after an hour struggling to pick up and online curbside order, I walked back to customer service and ask for a simple refund. After struggling at register for 10 more minutes, they tell me the system is down and can't process a refund. I asked for the store manager several times. After 15 more minutes, not a single manager appeared or responded. Several employees attempted to help but none of them knew what to do and seemed to be annoyed with me and my issues. After almost 1.5 hours, I gave up and told them to load my order so I could leave. Again, they could not find my pending pickup order so they had to run all over the place to fulfill the order like I just asked for it.

Learned the Justin Ace Hardware was the closest store that had this grill in stock. Great fairly close should be simple. It's been anything but simple. Originally, I was under the impression the grill would be delivered on Tuesday, May 26th but as the order processed the delivery changed to Thursday, May 28th. I received no communication from Ace with any updates so I called the Ace Justin location and learned my grill was ready and it would be delivered in a few hours (Thursday morning). I also learned though that the Weber Griddle wasn't ready as it was in route to be delivered the next day. I learned the Ace Rhome location had a griddle and asked if they could stop and get it and as it would prevent a trip the following day. Great everything is lining up perfectly. I asked the guy the condition of the grill and told him I was pretty picky. No scratches or dents and to inspect it closely. He assured me it looked great. The delivery guy arrived within just a few hours and I joined him on the truck to give the grill a go over. It was super noticeable that it had scratches on the stainless area near the knobs, directly in front. I grab some stainless cleaner to make sure and sure enough it was "damaged" and I simply explained to the delivery person I couldn't accept it. He indicated they had problems with the guy who does the assembly but that he was friends of the owner. I'm not sure how the scratches got there but knew I wasn't buying a Weber grill for $1,700 that was damaged. I ended up calling Andrew, a manager and explained the situation. The driver was on the phone with another manager who insisted the Entire order be returned. Andrew apologized and the driver left with all 3 items. The next day the credit had not been processed. I called and spoke again with Andrew the next day and he indicated I needed to cancel the order via their online platform in order to get the credit. Great, signed on with him and canceled the order. Received a notification that it would take 1-2 days to process the credit. What? Ok no worries. 2 days go by and I call their web team since I placed the order via Aces Website. The CSR called the store, confirmed it had been returned and explains it would take 7-10 days for a credit to post. It was at that very point I became upset and asked to speak to a manager. He indicated I would need to speak to the store management team. What? I requested that he call them and get them on the phone so I wasn't going back and forth. I waited on hold for approximately 15 minutes until someone at the store jumped on. I believe his name was Mike. He indicated the issue was with the griddle but he was taking care of it and I should see the credit post shortly. Nope. Here I am and it's the weekend and no credit had posted to my American Express. I've already purchased another Weber Grill from Lowe's and it will be delivered on June 6th. Fingers crossed. I went with the Weber stealth model to avoid the unnecessary scratches to the stainless steel even though I just had a new secondary refrigerator delivered and Lowe's did an amazing job. Every step was communicated and they were on time, professional and best part no scratches. I like to buy local. But it's times like this where you learn a lesson. ACE Justin...DO BETTER! They refused to exchange because I had wrote my name in it when I first got it expecting that it was a perfectly good and new Bible. I believe they sell resused items and I am most of all disappointed in their customer service and lack of sympathy for the matter ( ie gift card , exchange, or refund). In the future I will stick with Amazon or, Michaels or TJ Maxx, and encourage anyone else who shops there to do the same .

Last month we were driving around and were shocked to see an Ollie's sign off the highway! We first…read morediscovered Ollie's in College Station and we are fans, so I'm glad they had the big sign off the highway or I may not have discovered they took over the Dirt Cheap location at the end of September. This isn't the kind of discount store where they have regular inventory they order. They carry things that didn't sell at other businesses, so they don't even know what they will have until it arrives. That being said it's pretty organized for the square footage they have. Their business model also means that you are getting discounts off the original prices, so you may see the same type of product range from very cheap to an average amount, but for a more expensive brand. If you are loyal to certain brands you may not find them here on one visit and then 2 weeks later they have a surplus, you have to physically go to the store to see what they have. It's not ideal for someone who is out of a bunch of stuff and needs things right away, but for those of you who always shop the sales and stock up, this is right up your alley! While what's offered will vary greatly I do notice that there is always a dry food section, a toiletry section, pet beds, cleaning supplies and bedding/towels. It also seems like Ollie's usually carries flooring materials and area rugs in the back. They typically always have a section of books and journals and at least one or two aisles of toys. The rest of it will change up regularly. For example, I saw an entire aisle of school supplies, which I don't recall noticing at other locations on other visits, but man, a great opportunity to get the jump on some of next year's school supplies for super cheap. They had multiple aisles of cookware and small appliances. The ones I looked at seemed like a great deal, but I had no need to purchase any. We saw a ton of Coleman products on that visit including grills of various sizes starting at $30 and King size blankets for $20 and entire comforter sets for $40. This would probably be my go to if I needed extra blankets for a guest or a new pet bed as they always have that stuff in a huge selection. We saw big boxes of coffee and hot coca pods for $10 and a big selection of spices on this visit as well. We didn't stop in looking for anything in particular but found some good deals for things we've been meaning to replace or purchase extra of. I got some cozy slippers for $8, a new pillow for $5 and several King size blankets. I was looking for King size sheets, but on that particular visit they didn't have anything larger than a Queen, but they very well may on my next one. If you enjoy thrifting, come here, you can treasure hunt and find some really cool deals and unexpected products! If you prefer a one stop shop or need to know the inventory for an instant purchase of a particular brand, maybe not a great fit, but still a neat store to visit and you may be able to get some of your Christmas shopping knocked out. I saw a section in the back right side called Ollie's Follies which seemed to be slightly damaged items at a clearance rate. If you find yourself shopping there a lot, they also have a card where you can earn points for every $1 you spend and get rewards. Not sure what kind exactly but that seems like a couponers dream. I say it's worth the trip!
