Many moons ago when it used to be Garden Ridge I couldn't get enough of this store, especially around the holidays. And I definitely wasn't alone. They would have these over-the-top Black Friday sales that spanned several days where the store was open 24/7 resulting in a madhouse of fervent shoppers taking part in a whirlwind of insane deals on everything home decor related...Ahh, the memories! Nowadays the atmosphere is much more subdued (pre-Covid as well as present time - so this observation is unrelated to the pandemic) And although the name is different it's basically the same store it's always been with the same layout and much of the same type of merchandise. It just lacks a certain something that once made it so special even though I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps the prices aren't quite as cheap as they once were and/or the selection has decreased. I have noticed that some of the shelves aren't as well stocked as they used to be, particularly in the seasonal department. I'm sure the popularity of online shopping is partially to blame for their issues. The last couple times I went there seeking specific items I left empty handed, not even finding a single impulse buy to succumb to. At Home is a great place to spend a lazy day. Do you ever have a day during the weekend when you are too lazy to clean and grocery shop, but you feel it is your duty to force yourself out of the house and a reason to actually take a shower instead of hanging out in your jammies? Yep, come here and get lost! First, during these hell-hot days here in Texas this store is a nice respite to cool off. Gigantic place with wall to wall STUFF. Anything you can pretty much imagine, they sell. Lawn swings galore...yes, i think I will sit and enjoy! Bar stools- yes, I will try these too. They even have Mikasa drink ware, so they don't just sell garage sale rejects. My hubby was with me. Normally, shopping with him (in any thing other than an electronic store) is just painful. It is like he immediately develops ADHD and I have a 2 year old child on my hands asking when we can leave. Shockingly, he was actually his adult self and even enjoyed perusing the aisles! I can't stress enough about first impressions and customer service. I'm the buyer! I can take my money anywhere to shop. I can go online and avoid rude customer service. Stores need to realize that the customers should be treated with the same amount of love they have for the money.. At home did a great job I just had to share.. The lady and I went in looking for outdoor seat cushions pillows for our DIY bench. We went in Sunday, looked for an hour and left overwhelmed. Yesterday we went back after shopping around determined to find what we needed. After about 15 mins of looking we were approached by employee Stephen. He simply asked if we needed any help and within seconds we were off like minions looking at the deals and for what we needed. He informed us of their "special email offer" with discounts for members. He also showed us how to notice when a price tag is discounted. He could have passed us off to someone else or even eluded us in their big warehouse. Instead, he stopped his task to give us about 30 mins. of great customer service. Late at night, Great job at home for outstanding customer service and your great amount of options!! I've been to this Garden Ridge dozens of times. I usually don't buy much (if anything), because I'm cheap and very particular. BUT when I find what I want, it's usually just right. I've looked for metal plant baskets or window-box type things at various retailers... But I didn't see one I wanted until Garden Ridge. Right shape, size, and price. I just recently bought patio accessories here: chair cushions, an umbrella, that wire basket thing... But after getting everything set up, I realized that the red cushions and umbrella I bought weren't quite right. I'm not that bold. Thankfully, I kept the receipt. Garden Ridge doesn't do exchanges, but they DO take returns (within 60 days, original packaging, etc). So I returned the red stuff and got a more neutral color. Customer service is still hit or miss (as others have mentioned), but it seems as though they're trying to fix that. Garden Ridge just changed it's name to "At Home". Of course, that info isn't on their website. And no other Garden Ridge stores mentioned the transition when I called to see if this Lewisville location was still open. So, slight fail.. But oh well. AMAZING!!!!! If you are looking for ANYTHING to decorate your home, THIS PLACE HAS IT. "Garden Ridge" is this utterly enormous store with TONS of stuff: garden decorations, stools and dining chairs, artwork, curtains, shower curtains, end tables, side tables, dressers, desks, SUITS OF ARMOR! It is utterly impossibly overwhelming and CHEAP. I could get a fake suit of armor for $70! It's ugly, but cheap! A lot of the stuff here is on the gaudy side (A chair shaped like a woman's shoe?) but also a lot of practical stuff as well. I absolutely plan on coming here again once I can figure out how to decorate my place. Pinterest, here I come! read more

Kinda excited to find this place on the way home today. The name didn't give away too much so it was a bit of a surprise when we got inside. It was like halloween & Christmas central! (Seasonal obvs). The store was pretty organized and was like a wannabe home goods/ michaels / 99cent store+. Prices were okay. Lots of "stuff" my husband and I found cute wall hanging sea life things and a cute clock. We got out of there under $40. The aisles are a little tight. In one of the aisles my cart could barely go through. Definitely worth a trip for seasonal knick knacks and such. Make sure to sign up to be a member for 10% off your purchase. I went into this store with my boyfriend this afternoon to look for some decor for our home. Mind you, we love this place and the organization and prices are fair. Once we got to the cash register we split our purchases and I went first to the cashier and said "Hello" to her. Not 5 seconds ago she was chatting it up with a customer ahead of me, but as I approached and greeted her first, I was met with silence and she scanned my items. So taking a social cue, I waited to be prompted to pay by the card reader. She asked me a question every store associate asks as to whether or not I had an email that had their store info in order for me to collect points and being focused on paying, I didn't hear it entirely and politely asked her what she said and then was followed by her very rudely and SLOWLY repeating the question as if I was "slow" and challenged. I then proceeded to calmly say "no" and pay. My boyfriend who was buying only one item got a kick out of her and she chatted up a storm with him about his product and was extremely happy and friendly just like expected customer service should be. I only mention this because of the times we are approaching but I am of mixed race (black/white) and he is white and she is an elderly white woman so I have no doubt at all it could have been a racially biased approach. The manager was called to help me find an item, and she chewed out the cashier for calling her and acted as if I was bugging her. This review isn't about the store, which I love, but about one of its employees named Lamar. Today I lost my keys somewhere while I was there. I retraced my steps to no avail. The only thing left to do was dig through the garbage can out front to see if I had tossed them in by accident. On line the store showed that the item we were looking for was available in the store. We were unable to locate the item in the store. The first associate was not very helpful. The second associate, Sarah went the extra mile to help us locate our item even though we were unsuccessful. I appreciated her help and determination in assisting us. This place is a decorator's dream. Every Knick knack you could imagine is here - and many of them are reasonably priced!

I used to love this store but now it is truly overwhelming with stuff. They now sell clothing and mattresses. The front of the store is the most organized. The wall art section is cluttered and unorganized. I found a piece of art that I like and wanted to look for other pieces but the art was just stuck on the shelves which made it hard to see anything past the picture in the front for fear of stuff falling everywhere. The clearance art was even worse. It was thrown on the shelf. This store used to be better organized and cleaner. The management of this store has really let the store go downhill. I walked the entire store and the only area that was organized was the seasonal area. I am truly disappointed in how this store has changed. There was not anyone on the sales floor to help me locate items. Which I'm sure if there was a system to the chaos they probably would not have understood it either. Truly bummed... read more

This store has a lot to offer, it has ross prices (ross quality also) and it has the amount of stuff crammed in that IKEA has in its entire store. It is fun to explore and has unlimited options. They also have seasonal stuff so if you need to stock up on Xmas or Halloween stuff this is the place to go. read more

This place just gets worse and worse. Back in the day I liked them when they were garden ridge. Now it's become "at home" and it's way worse. The prices are ridiculous for what you get. Today is 12/5, and Christmas stuff is already dwindling down. Their "Black Friday" ad was 5 things. Yes. 5 things. I usually love At Home stores but this one has left me with a very bad impression. If this had been my first experience, I wouldn't return. The aisles in this store are a disaster. Some of them you literally can't walk through. The rest are so close together unless you are the first cart in, you have to walk backwards out because it's impossible for two carts to pass in one aisle. Major fire hazard. The "directions" for the check out are not clear and with all the people in line there was only one checker available. When a second did finally come on board it was clear he was more interested in the argument ensuing over a return, because he didn't greet me or the person in front of me, or even offer me a bag for my purchases. It's like Ross or TJ Maxx, but for home decor! Some items are slightly damaged or defective (I saw a cracked mirror, a key rack with some paint chipped off, some storage baskets that had discoloration that looked like sun fade) but if you take the time and sort through and hunt a little, you can find some good bargains. The store is usually clean but I only ever see staff up at the front of the store which is a bit odd. Anyway, they have literally everything here, at every price point. I just recently moved into a new apartment so I've made a few trips here recently for things like coasters, pillows, storage baskets... I even grabbed two small power strips up by the registers. So, as long as you're a smart shopper and carefully look at what you're putting in your cart to make sure there isn't preexisting damage, this is a great store. And to all the people complaining about the customer service... have you ever had good customer service at Ross or TJ Maxx? Probably not. I haven't. It's pretty much a fend-for-yourself environment. I recently visited Garden Ridge in search of wall art. I found it difficult to look through the shelves of art because of how things are thrown and stacked on the shelves. Some items are too high to reach, others are too heavy to lift from under other pieces. In years past I've purchased several pieces of wall art from Garden Ridge for resonable prices but after my most recent visit I don't think I would recommend anyone waste their time shopping there. read more

Garden Ridge was always my first place to shop for home decor and seasonal. Yesterday was my second visit since it became "At Home". Very, very disappointed in what has happened to this store. First, let me warn that people with asthma or any sort of respiratory issues should avoid the place. I complained about all the fragrance packets hanging on clip strips all over the store on my last visit but I got no response. If the highly scented items were confined to one area of the store, with the candles, etc, then it would make it much safer for others to shop. The nearest location is 10 miles from me. Other locations are 15-25 miles in opposite directions. I just wanted to call to find out a general price range of their scrubs (I need two sets for my sons halloween outfits, but I dont want to spend a fortune since Im cutting them up). I did NOT want to have to drive thru 3 towns just to check a price. And if they dont have the color I need I will have to drive 4 towns in the other direction to check another location! Is it SO difficult to have working phones that dont give u the run-around with automated recordings?? I think that's ridiculous. Oh and how original is their promotional wording on the website? They say they are as big as a Walmart, and then they say they are "like a Home Depot for decorators". LAME. Dont compare yourself to other companies.. where's the originality? Worst experience I could have had. I was buying for a non-profit and asked for the tax exempt form. I had shopped there two weeks prior and had no issues. This time, I had the EIN number but not a copy of the actual document so I asked for an alternative, since two weeks before they accepted the number only and did not say that I needed to have the copy of the document itself. I understand laws and policies, but we asked for an alternative: if we could fax or email the document or if we paid in full and then came back with the copy of the document they would reimburse the tax. We first heard no and then they simply left us there, completely ignored us. I asked for a manager and the manager on duty came and said he could not do anything. So I asked for his boss. They REFUSED to give me the store manager name. They simply refused and once again ignored us. I asked for a third time and then he came back saying he would do it. I saw the store director and spoke to her and in no moment she apologized or tried to be nice. They were rude all the way. It was a dreadful experience. The interesting thing is that the store was empty, very few people and it has been like that for a long time... every time I go there, very few customers are shopping. It's a hassle to get to the store because of construction on 35. One would think that they wouldn't want to lose more customers but they simply don't care. Needless to say I won't go back. There are places with the same poor quality inexpensive items with much better service and respect for the customer. read more
