Unlike the cheaper stuff at the big box stores you get to customize almost everything as much of it is custom-made to your specifications. As others have noted the salespeople are helpful (unlike the big box stores) and not pushy at all. This is one of those places I put in the category of "you get what you pay for". Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day. I worked primarily with Janice in the show space on South Main St. She showed me differences in models and lines while patiently answering my questions over the course of a few weeks. I was surprised at the detailed process we went through when I finally decided on what I wanted and sat down with her to go through the order itself. Janice went through every choice from windows to gable vents to locations and sizes of windows and doors. After waiting 3 weeks for the shed to be built in pieces, the assembly crew showed up on the appointed day right on time. Jose, Edvin, and Celso arrived at 9am, and got to work quickly, assembling the shed in a little more than 6 hours. Other than a short break for lunch, they worked steadily, kept things neat, and cleaned up after they were done. The finished product is well-constructed. Within hours of the assembly crew heading back to NY, it started to rain in CT for the next 36 hours. My town received close to 5" of rain, yet the shed was bone dry inside, much to my relief. From beginning to end, I'm very happy with the service and final product, and I'd highly recommend Best in Backyards to anyone in the market for a storage shed.
