I decided to give Frank's a shot and wow, so glad I did! I booked online which was super simple, and got there early to grab a parking spot since it is downtown off Larimer. Headed inside, was greeted/checked in and was told to wash my hands which I liked. They then asked if I wanted anything to drink and it being my day off, I went the local craft beer route and got a Strawberry Rhubarb Sour Ale by Great Divide (their beer selection is spot on, even got a koozie for the can). I was then told to take a seat in their lounge area dubbed the "man cave" which is the only thing I happened to take pictures of while there. They had all kinds of things available while waiting, from chips, snacks, suckers, even condoms which I thought was a nice touch. I hung out in there for a few minutes before Addison came and introduced herself and took me to her chair. Now back home in Houston, I had the same barber for about 7 years and I have spent some time here in Denver looking for anyone comparable to her- and I think Addison just may be that fit. She was amazing, listened to every detail on what I was looking for with a haircut, and was very personable but also professional. I was so impressed by her work I'll definitely be going back and requesting her as well. Highly recommend her for anyone reading this review! My bar is set pretty high, and she went above and beyond. Facility was very nice and well kept, loved how clean everything was. A couple of pro tips, get there early because of street parking. I went during the day which was fine, but you always need to be prepared going downtown to find a spot unless you are walking/scooting/biking. Coors Field is two blocks away, so I can see parking not even being an option during baseball season. Also Addison told me a lot of people book in the evening and come in for a beer and a cut, then head out on the town afterwards which is not a bad place to be to get the night started!

Best haircut ever. This man knows what he's doing, is thorough and works you through the process to make sure you get exactly what you want. Highly recommended, especially if you want any kind of fade. 10/10 Awesome shop, cool vibes, free perks (Ghost energy drink), which comes in handy if you work out at any of the gyms nearby and everyone there is super cool, nice and most importantly from what I've gathered skilled/knowledgeable. Right down by larimer square off 16th. I'd recommend checking the place out If you haven't quite found what you're looking for. Or need to fix a bad cut.

He was meticulous about the haircut, and really took his time on sculpting my beard and teaching me what I can do to maintain it. I had a picture from several years on my phone to show what I kind of wanted for my hair, and he nailed it. The hot towel and steam treatment is second to none. Now I understand why people love spa days. I felt like I was being pampered to the extreme. I was nervous about the straight razor, but it felt amazing with the shave oil they use. Relaxed in after about the second swipe of it. Overall a great experience, and the environment is superb. Nice old-time chairs, but with modern creature comforts. I'll definitely be back.

I walked in to hair all over the floor from the night before and people not cleaning. He was kind enjoy to soak my chair with Lysol spray before asking me to sit. My cut took 70 min, where he cut me twice, carved out chunks of hair, did the worst hack job I've ever had, and fell asleep on me! This man literally fell asleep on me. There were other issues, but these negative experiences were the highlights of this $45 cut experience. I was referred to this tucked-away, 7th floor, North corner, University Building salon by my former stylist. She moved away due to Covid, but she referred me to Niza. The Best: Niza Niza is the shop owner. Her cuts look great from the beginning. But based on my experience, a really great cut is realized 2-3 weeks after the cut. Is my hair still proportional, does it actually look better and basically fall into place with minimal effort? Can I get a neck and ear trim and still look great? Niza's cuts are of the best classification. In addition, Niza does beard consulting and shaping. With just a few corrections to lines, my mustache no longer looked Bandito, my jawline more youthfully square and the little bit of neck waddle diminished. I highly recommend her. Nina brought forth a baby boy, at the end of July... The Worst: Nina Nina is second-chair, and I am being kind. Typically, my stylist will use clippers on the lower sides and then use scissors to shape and mold the rest of my head. I have multiple cowlicks so shaping these into form takes a few cuts of patience, knowledge and talent. I have gotten so used to a good stylist that I relax and let the stylist do their art. My hair is dark brown with just a few white hairs. My beard is white with just a few dark brown hairs. My eyebrows; I am of an age that they grow long and wild, the color is blotchy. I touch up my beard and eyebrows myself, with color and trimmers. Yeah, I am vain and I have coached many men on just how easy it is to do a little color fix, I share my experience freely and openly. In my initial appointment with her, Nina asked, "Is a #3 clipper guard what is used? I replied, #2. I told her it had been about 5 weeks and that my hair grows fast, maybe 1/2" or so. That was the totality of our discussion. The next thing I know big clippers are on my head. I know some stylists that use clippers much like scissors, using their fingers to shape and form; I didn't freak out...until I looked in the mirror. I went to a fix-it stylist. I now have a crew-cut, less than a #1 guard long. My beard is the same very short scruff. I bought some mascara to use until my eyebrows are long enough to take color. I asked Niza about writing this review, she encouraged me. As for Nina, I think Greeley has operations that better fit your abilities.

It's unfortunate, I'd like to find a good locally owned place to get cuts but I just can't help to think, if they're not cleaning up for months on end, then what else aren't they doing in sanitation. The sinks themselves were quite dirty and had tons of mineral build up all over them. Pride in their business is lacking quite a bit.
