Overcharged: We stopped by this shop while visiting Maui and bought 2 bracelets and 2 stickers. The bracelets were clearly marked $6.99 each, but when they were rung up, the cashier entered them as $10.99 each. I pointed it out and she corrected it. The stickers were marked $3.50 each, but they had already been rung up and I didn't catch what we were charged at the time. The final total still didn't match the posted prices, which suggests the stickers were also rung up higher than marked. Based on the listed prices, our total should have been about $21.95 with tax. Instead, we were charged $25.09 even after the bracelet overcharge was corrected. Had the bracelet error not been caught, the total would have been close to $35. They do not provide printed receipts, so it was difficult to verify the charges until they appeared on our account. Afterward, I noticed other reviews mentioning similar concerns with pricing and customer service. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this shop. If you choose to shop here, make sure you know the price of every item and watch carefully as each one is rung up to ensure you are not overcharged. A little boy who I'm assuming was the owners son was so kind and darling! However, the rest of our short experience in this store was bizarre. The owner was incredibly rude out of nowhere. IMHO My husband loves to come and visit this cute this boutique when we're in the area. I can't believe he remembers it! It has your typical aloha souvenirs which are always fun to look through. I was looking for a humpback whale sticker (and I'm very particular!) so, I was very happily surprised to find the perfect sticker for my water bottle! When I was paying for my sticker, I found another basket of stickers to search through! I found a "Love is love, is love, is love" sticker, and an "I love Maui" button! The owner clearly had an issue with me from the moment I walked in. I came in to buy a few shirts, as there are T-shirts and items in her window. I needed a shirt for my son and myself, and when I asked for one she told me she wasn't a shirt shop. Surprising and shocking since that is 75% of what is in the store. I was SHOCKED to read the negative reviews, truth be told my entire interaction was with Cash, the young understudy to Jasmine. I saw Jasmine working in the corner, Cash was given full responsibility for the store. I was immediately greeted by Cash who asked me if I thought I could survive under water with no dive tanks and just a bucket. I was ready for this challenge, empathic 'YES!,' you trap air in the bucket and slide your head in. I was on the same page as Cash, I think I gained nominal respect. After asking if I need any assistance, I came across an obscure item, a Maui themed guitar pick. My oldest is taking up the base guitar - I guess UCSB has inspired her? Cash was enthusiastically working the register when we crossed paths again. I put down my guitar pick, with no UPC code and said, "I bet you don't know how much this cost." Cash punched at the keys and said, "I bet you didn't think about tax, you owe $1.56!" Cash got me! This store has lots of knick knacks, with a strong emphasis on Hawiian themed apparel. Why Go? There is absolutely some gift for someone that you can find at this store. Did I mention that Cash is about 8 years old and worth the price of admission? Think along the lines of child actor from Jerry Maguire, Ray. I will NOT have a more pleasurable transaction this vacation. Came across this store while we got coffee next door. Lahaina strong shirts were cool and my family all wanted one (6 shirts). We specifically wanted to shop local here, knowing the history of Lahaina firsthand as I was living in Waianae at the time of the fires last year. We did not buy anything from ABC or other touristy places who don't care about the town or the lives lost. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the owner was just using this event for profit and was extremely rude to us while shopping. If she was really trying to get funds for the community of Lahaina, she would've wanted to have our business and been extremely nice to us, right? Shirts were supposed to be organized by size, but everything was out of order. She noticed I was kind of searching around and said "what size" and I said large to which she begins telling me to "shop by size not pattern." I continued looking around the large pile, where 90% of the shirts were not large, and she keeps telling me I'm not doing it right as if I don't know how to read sizes. I wondered why she was so rude about this but I kept looking anyway. I eventually found one for my grandpa and we went to checkout. We stood at the counter for a few minutes before my dad politely asked "whenever you're ready we are ready to checkout", as she was helping another customer. She replied "he's already there", referring to her 8 or so year old son who was near the front. He ran behind the counter and began checking us out. He was very kind and helped out but didn't know some pricing, as nothing was marked. I've come to notice many local places do this so they can upcharge their white tourists, which seems a bit crazy to me considering we're trying to support and shop local. It seemed the owner would shout out random, extremely high sounding prices, for items not tagged. We definitely were being overpriced on the items we got, ($25 each for a Mac nut lei?) especially when we were getting 6 Lahaina strong shirts that were already $27 each. The store was messy, which isn't really a problem for me but worth mentioning, and the owner was just extremely bitter. For a family who is paying you nearly $300, you could do a better job with having some human decency and at least act nice to us. I understand the history of native Hawaiians and whites, but we are trying to do everything we're asked to by the natives while vacationing here and this still didn't seem to be enough for her. If you hate customer service this much, maybe just let the 8 year old stand in the store and talk to customers and the owner can do inventory in the back or something. We nearly put back every item and walked out, but my grandparents really wanted us to bring them some Lahaina strong shirts and they were the coolest ones we've seen on island so far. So, if you want to shop here, I recommend being prepared to encounter the owner and just try to stick to yourself while shopping. Or maybe just stick to the coffee shop next door, which was excellent and workers were extremely kind. Side note: the doggie was the best part of the store. The doggie gets 5 stars. read more

I found a new wallet since I gave my son mine. We'll be back for a shirt for our dog, Charlie, and for friends and such back on the mainland. When I called on Friday, to see if my lei was ready, she seemed agitated that I called, and it wasn't ready, so I asked if I could pick it up early on Saturday, 9 am, before I left for the airport. When I arrived at her store, she wasn't there, and asked if I could come to her place to pick it up. I didn't mind doing that, as it was on my way to the airport, but the agitation in her voice, is what upset me, as I asked two times, if it was going to be a problem, getting the lei ready by the time I had to go home. I showed Jasmine the money lei that I wanted, which had 5 flowers, with each flower, having 4 $1 bills. So part of the total of the lei, was $20, for the 5 flowers. Since I was in a rush to get to the airport, I didn't notice at first, that she cheated me on the $20 for the 5 flowers. At first, I thought that she cheated me $10, that there was two $1.00 bills for each flower, but when I gave it to my daughter, she stated that there was only 1 $1.00 bill for each flower. So Jasmine charge me $20 for the money she was going to place on the lei, but only placed $5.00 worth of $1.00 bills. Technically, she stole $15 from me. Not a very happy customer. read more

I have been here twice in the last week! I love it! Most amazing options and nothing that is the cheap plastic version many of the other places sell. I was greeted by two different people but didn't have a bad experience. The second time I stayed much longer since I had more time to shop and had a very pleasant experience. We come in as tourists and expect to be treated like kings on stolen land. Imagine how many white folks come to the islands and inflict further racism with colonial entitlement. I am sad to see this store has a few one star reviews! My family went in and we were greeted by Jasmine and her son. I could see how some people could take her BOLD personality the wrong way. My wife and mother stopped by this shop because it looked like they sold cute items, but they had a horrible experience with the owner, Jasmine. A younger male was initially assisting them with finding a necklace for my 16 month old son, when she approached them. When my wife and mother told her that they wanted to see other designs of necklaces for a young child or other items for young children, instead of showing them some of the other items in her store, she repeatedly demanded that they tell her specifically what they wanted. At one point, the younger male tried to continue to help them, but Jasmine said something along the lines of, "I'll translate what they are saying, but they are not answering my questions" (My wife and mother are of Asian descent, but both were born in the US and speak perfect English). As they were leaving the store, Jasmine caught up to my Mom, gave her a business card, and told her, "Come back again when you're not rushed and having a better day." They were having a great day until they stopped by this store. Jasmine makes nice items, but she was very condescending and rude throughout the whole interaction, and her "translate" comment came off as racist. We will definitely not be coming back. read more

We were headed to the Farmer's Market when we walked around the corner to check out the shops available and lo and behold we ran into this one. I rated this one 5 stars because of its eclectic collection of clothing, jewelry, and odds & ends. Plus, the woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. It's not a big store and things are strewn about everywhere but that's what makes it unique. The woman behind the counter was patient with us and never made us feel like we were a bother or that we had to hurry. We looked at varying shops for gifts to take back with us. Most of the other shops all start to look the same. We managed to find the majority of what we needed in this one shop. We stayed for awhile as we had fun perusing through all the items they had. We ended up purchasing a t-shirt and varying jewelry and magnets. My Sweetie found a really cute turtle earring set and surprised me with them. How sneaky! I didn't even notice when he was paying for everything at the register. I guess he really lives up to his name. *grin* We had a wonderful experience during our visit. read more

The only horrible service I've ever had in Maui was here. I'm not sure if she had a bad day or if she is naturally so rude. My family and I were so excited to be supporting an island business; we'd thought we should spend money elsewhere than the ABC store. The four of us had our hands full of awesome items, ready to check out. There was a young boy helping us and we were ready for him to ring us up. We were happy to see him working and thought nothing bad of it/his age. (My family and I are all about a family-run business, as we have our own). He needed a price check for a certain clothing item; so my aunt went to check the price and tell him. After telling him price, the kid claimed he could not take prices from customers so we went outside to get his mom to do a price check for us. She proceeded to come in, and yell at my aunt, "He is perfectly capable of helping you"! We tried explaining we knew that and understood completely. Instead of taking time to listen to us at all, we were yelled at over and over again. We got flipped off on the way out, putting our items down, and were again yelled at by the lady and her son, "Don't come back!" (This happened halfway through November, but of course, we won't be back.) read more

Walked into this store and they first thing I noticed was it smelled bad inside. They had some cute things and decent prices. Once I was ready to check out a young boy was at the register to help us. He didn't know some of the prices so I ran to find the prices to tell him. He said he couldn't take my word for it he had to be told the prices by his mom (I totally understand). His mom was outside talking to someone so I opened the door and asked if there was someone who could help us with the checkout because the boy needed some help with pricing. She instantly snapped at me and said "he is fully capable of checking you out", I said "yes but he needs some help with pricing" she snapped at me again and said "thats not what you said, he is fully capable of checking you out and it's passed hours". I didn't know it was passed hours, we just walked in and the open sign was on. I reiterated to her that I didn't have a problem with her son ringing me up but he just needed help with prices. She continued to talk over me and say "thats not what you said" even though that's exactly what I had said. As she walked in she kept making rude comments so I said "never mind, I don't want anything from your store". There was 4 of us there ready to purchase but we all walked out. As we were walking out her son said "and don't come back". She continued to make comments to us as we walked out. I have never experienced anything like this before. We were in Maui this fall. My family has shopped at Witts End for years, every time we visit. I thought it was permanently closed but was happy to see the shop had just moved down the street. I planned my day around a trip to Witts End to look for souvenirs to take home with me. As I arrived I saw a couple walking away angry. Jasmine asked me what I was shopping for and I said I was just looking around. She was visibly upset by that and was reluctant to let me into her small store. I went in anyway knowing I would find some treasures. She had two young women trying on dresses and started telling them how she had no time for customers like me who aren't serious about buying something and how she was glad to see the last ones leave. WILL NEVER SHOP IN THIS CRAZY LADY'S STORE AGAIN!!!!! I visited the store last week and admired a butterfly decor item in the window, but the store was closed. We visited the same center where this store is located again this morning to get coffee and I was excited to see this store was open because I wanted to purchase this item for my granddaughter. When I asked the salesperson if the item in the window was the only one they had or if they had others (I asked for two reasons: 1) because I was concerned about transporting the item home and 2) the display item was defective). She replied 'That is the one I have for sale and I can box it for travel', implying that was the only one she had. So, we spent about 10 more minutes in the store looking around at other items....the entire time the lady never said another word to us. When we decided to head out to get our coffee. As we walked up the sidewalk outside the store, she followed us out of the store and began shouting at me: "You don't want the butterfly...I went and got all the others for you to look at! People aren't usually this rude to ask about an item and then leave the store!" From the looks of the responses to other reviews, the person who did this appears to be the store owner or manager. We visit the area for months every year and will NEVER visit or purchase from this store. This lady knows nothing about customer service, basic kindness or the aloha spirit! When I came in to this little shop I didn't realize it wasn't the same shop as it used to be. I was delighted to hear about it while looking around. She also helped me pick out the cutest local made baby outfits for my moms friend back home.
