Donovan was at the window working on a piece and quickly invited conversation if I had any questions about anything in the gallery. I loved all of the local landscape and floral art work displayed, which completely contrasted with that of what Donovan was working on. I'm not sure how best to describe the style, but I loved the vibrant color and energy his pieces gave off. It's definitely a great place to walk around and take in some great displays of talent (and maybe even take a piece home if you have the wall space!)

The first Friday of every month Guerneville's gallery people open their doors, lay out a few munchies, a cup of something red and shmooze with visitors, townies and members of this intertwining network of people who share goals, points of view and the latest dirt on a couple of their mutual acquaintances. It's true that the building itself isn't open except by appt. with individual artists and for special events like this past June's Art at the Source Open Studios. The next big event for Atelier One will be their 30th Anniversary celebration on Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st 2017. It's an intriguing and wonderful place to visit--a historic old apple processing building that now provides studios for a diverse group of artists and craftspeople. We browsed at our leisure but were looking specifically for Inuit art so when she asked me and I answered, she was quickly able to let me know she did not have anything like that. Worth stopping in if you like art in this price range. They have many attractive pieces.
