He was the ONLY one who brought us any kind of mock up for our house, offered design suggestions, and even gave us advice for our roof for a future project. I highly suggest you ask for him. He explained the entire project and how it would work. Next we worked with James, who did final field measures. And double crossed the t's and dotted the i's to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted before they ordered. We very much appreciated this. While we were working with James, we had an attic inspection done by Jim who caught a leak in our attic! So added bonus, always better to find that sooner. When you have a project this large, things ARE GOING to go wrong. The important thing is how does the company handle things when they go wrong. And I can give nothing but the highest praise to this company and specifically our Project Manager John Giese in this regard. He always got in front of every issue, quickly communicated everything and kept the project on track The job is split into separate crews, Vas was the Forman for the actual siding. And to this day I can't believe how fast and efficient his crew was. The gutter team of Hunter, Aubrey, and Jason were quick and offered great guidance! Helped us consolidate a downspout! One less for me to step on! Tony came out and quickly fixed our before mentioned attic leak. Dan and Josh took fantastic care of us when installing all our doors. Siding, roof snd gutters look great and are functioning well. It appears to me that the company relies on long history too much. Sales and service support could be enhanced. I didn't find these to be Ryan McGlinch's primary skills. Our project manager was very polite. However, was not here often enough and didn't demand accuracy and follow through from a homeowner's perspective. At time of the project and soon afterwards I was very disappointed and stressed that I had to request a number of follow up calls for work omissions. In fairness to McGlinch associates, they responded to address, correct mistakes of the initial crews thus demonstrating that final customer satisfaction is a high priority. To improve, McGlinch could be more proactive ensuring detailed work is accurately completed, and provide a process for customer satisfaction without requiring the customer to become upset and then have to complain to get a required response.

Compared to other contractors that I know, Matrix deserves 5 stars. I gave only 4 because nobody is perfect, but they come pretty close in the world of contracting. 4.5 would be more precise. What got our attention mostly is the material they use. The walls are made with foam insulation sandwiched between two sheets of magnesium board. A basement flood won't destroy your basement, and the material is stronger than regular drywall. The drop ceiling sits straight and the floor looks great too. At first we wanted to know how much just the material would cost us, because we wanted to save money the dyi way. During the estimation process we had them price out the complete contract as well. Then we decided to save ourselves a lot of headaches by letting them do almost the whole job. I like doing the finishing work myself, such as trim and doors. That saved us a few bucks and gives me a few weekend projects.

From the very beginning, things went wrong. They didn't get one of the room sizes correct, it was literally the size of a closet -- and then tried to blame the blueprints, even though their own measurements were wrong. Despite that, they still charged me to fix their mistake. Then, after agreeing to a $107,000 price to finish my basement (yes, they are that expensive), they had the audacity to bill me separately for the permits. Imagine agreeing to a six‑figure renovation and then being told the permits aren't included. They claimed it was "in the fine print," even though the fine print only says the home owner is responsible for the permits, however it doesn't say that the cost is separate from the total. To make matters worse, they still haven't picked up their trash (pictures below have been in my basement for the last month and a half). It's been sitting in my basement and garage, and the project has been at a standstill for four weeks with zero communication or progress. Stay far away from this company. They are extremely overpriced and provide terrible customer service.

He took care of everything for me including all legal work with city and got my deck approved himself. I did not even have to call the city office once. I paid the majority of the contracted price after the approval of the deck. The contractor who dig the holes damaged a sprinkler pipe. Scott himself fixed it in his own time after deck was completed and I had paid in full. He is a person of high integrity and he loves his work. He does everything satisfy his customer needs.
