I tend to come here for Christmas and Easter gifts, because they always have a gorgeous selection to choose from- around Christmas, there are ornaments, decorative objects, Nativity sets, candles, and a huge range of other great gifts. There are also a lot of small toys and gifts that are perfect for children. The curation of the store is fantastic- it's perfect for items you won't find anywhere else, and it tends to be pretty affordable.

Slightly disorganized, with books, DVDs, and CDs here and there, I absolutely loved it. And what amazing prices!!!! They had a little bit of everything, including both paperback and hardback. Many of the hardbacks were only $1!!!! Considering you're going to pay $20-$30 for a new one, that's a heck of a steal. I managed to get 7 books for $16. I would have bought more but had to buy a bag just to get all of these home as it was. Support local!

I couldn't say the same for their parking lot though, it's not very big. They buy and sell used books and this place has A LOT: books (they also have rare/signed books on the floor and behind the regster), vinyls, and pictures. The front of the store has a more organized setup that label the shelves of what genre and the back of the store is where they keep their clearance items. I liked that they have staff picks descriptions or personal takeaways written on small note cards on the shelves and lots of places to sit around the store, especially in the back. I also noticed a sign on the wall saying you can rent out the clearance room in the back for events which is neat.

Some departments are better than others. It seemed like the only departments where I couldn't find ANYTHING were general fiction, mysteries/thrillers, and romance. TBH it's a clearance store so I didn't expect to have the best luck finding anything too popular. However, some people were in here bugging the staff about popular authors and new releases and didn't seem to understand the concept of a clearance store. At this point it's basically a treasure hunt. Manage expectations and only go if you're interested in discovering new authors while getting great deals. Anyways... If you're looking for blu ray/DVDs, you won't find any here at all - which is a bit disappointing. They do have vinyl though. Only had interaction with one employee and he was friendly. Most others I saw were with customers. Located in the Vernon Hills Shopping Center mall, there is plenty of parking. It's a generally busy shopping area, so use caution in the lot.
