Walking into Athena Nails Spa I had really high hopes that it would be my go to place unfortunately, that's not the case. The deluxe pedicure is advertised to take 30 minutes however it took a full hour. It seemed like the technician was paying attention to detail since it took so long but nope my toe nails are lumpy and, you can see the first coat under the bottom coat. I also didn't appreciate the fact that they didn't tell me that gel was $15 extra when I asked if they did gel pedicures as I couldn't find it listed under their services, I was just told when I was ready to pay. (I'm not saying it shouldn't be more but, it's their responsibility to let the customer know of any price change). I always get dipping powder for my nails and they just feel more bulky than usual. The nail technician also didn't notice that he painted over some nail shavings which isn't really visible unless I point it out however I see it and it bothers me I work hard for my money and, I don't like paying for something that I'm not happy with. Sadly it wasn't a happy ending with Athena Nails Spa in total I spent an hour and 50 minutes and paid $104 (not including tip which I always leave no matter what) for nails that I already want to redo. New York prices but NOT good quality. read more

First time trying Athena Nails- first the place is spotless and beautiful! All white marble tiles and white granite tabletops. Very friendly and welcoming. Jay did my nails and he is a perfectionist. I had fills with a gel polish and he did a great job. They have the lucite partitions up not only at the nail stations but even the pedicure chairs. I highly recommend! read more

Love the way my pedicure comes out. Always super clean and the price is great for the pedicures they do. HOWEVER those chairs are awful, I can feel the mechanical parts when I sit on them. I truly hope they upgrade their chairs soon because to sit on them for 30-40 minutes is painful. Other than that the place is clean and staff pretty friendly. read more

Ok opted to try this place again. Called without an appointment and asked if there was a wait she said no. I told her the last time I came I had to wait even though I called and that's why I was calling first. Of course I got there in 5 mins and still had to wait 25 mins before anyone could attend to me. The place only had 3 customers and three people attending to them and another in the back. After waiting I was told I could not get the manicure first only the pedicure. I said ok pedicure only. There are too many options available for this type of service. They want you to come in to spend money but cannot deliver a good customer experience. I work in a service type industry and I hope my customers are always pleased and I am transparent. I would not return here because I had called another place and was told an hour and a half which was fine. I just decided on my own to try here again because of the time difference. I am just so in love with this place! Tina does my acrylics and they look amazing! She's also super super super nice always! I've never seen her in a bad mood & always gives me exactly what I ask for. The pedicures are TO DIE FOR! They use oranges and lime which I've never had before but it's totally an experience. My nail tech was sloppy, rude, and unprofessional. He ripped one of my nails in half and it was bleeding and burning. He glued tips over my cuticles (which was painful) and he was rude when i tried to get him to fix it. The length was extremely uneven and when i tried to get him to fix it he was very dismissive and rude. And any time i tried to look at my nails to make sure i liked them he would get really annoyed. Not to mention my nails are very bumpy and have globs of gel on them. Overall i had a terrible and uncomfortable experience and I will not be returning. My teen daughter and her friend went there with a 12:30 appointment. They weren't taken back until 2pm. It's one thing to be running a little behind but an hour and half is ridiculous. Additionally, they took walk ins ahead of them. She also asked for manicure first and they told her no. She smudged her nails b/c they were still wet. Very disappointed. Well, the chairs are nice. The people are friendly. But their work is neither. They had to redo my nexgen because one hand was a completely different color than the other (french). Then my french toes came out worse. She redid those twice. Can't wait to get home and put some acetone on them. They had me pay way before they were done cause they had to "close the register". Seriously happy about this new place! Normally I don't change nail salons once I find a place I like but his is so close to my house I thought why not. Got a pedi and NEXGEN (dip powder). First of all the prices are standard but because they just opened there is a discount going on till the end of the month. Very clean and nice, the pedi chairs are extremely comfortable and do arm massages, almost like the chairs in Brookstone. Customer service is amazing, I'm very picky and Michael had no problem listening and adjusting to what I wanted. Girl at the front desk was super sweet and offered beverages, I got water. I'd like to note that even though the atmosphere and people were nice, the work is what's most important to me and this is the best job I've had on my nails in a long time. I feel like I need to write 2 different reviews, one for pedicures, and one for Nexgen. I gave this place 3/5 stars because that would be the average between my two reviews. Pedicures: Awesome. Chairs are the best I've been in. They do a great job on feet, 5 stars for sure. BUT: Nexgen: AWFUL. Michael is a very nice guy, I had no problem with his demeanor or the way he handled my service, however...my nails did nothing but chip and crack. Within a two week span, I was in that shop 3 different times so Michael could fix the cracks and chips. Right now, I am sitting with one cracked nail and one that is completely off, and I've just given up on going back in to have them fixed, because ain't nobody got time for that!!! I dunno if it's the powder he uses or what, but I will definitely NOT be returning for Nexgen services. read more

I scheduled for the first time to get my nails done the day before an interview and asked for dip French nails. I had Tina who kept trying to convince me not to do dip and try something else. I continued with dip and she seemed very unsure with what she was doing. I ended up spending almost two hours there. At the end, she decided to pick up nail polish and start polishing over all the work she already did. She ended up free handing using nail polish and made a French tip. I thought this was a little odd but didn't want to question her. That night, all of the nails started chipping. By the time I woke up every nail peeled off. I rescheduled my interview and came in the next day and asked to get them fixed with someone else and for a refund. Haley who was very nice fixed my nails for me. When it was time for a refund, Tina said absolutely not. I explained that I shouldn't have had to come back. I wasn't asking for her to fix the dip, she needed to remove the polish that u DIDN'T ask for. She got into a screaming match with me and told me to call the cops because not getting a refund. Literally the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon in South Florida. read more

This nail spa is an ACTUAL spa! When you get a pedicure you sit on massage chairs that massage almost your whole body! They off you water or soda and in about two months they're going to have a wine bar!! Customer service is amazing! The staff is very welcoming and very nice but Jenna, Frank and Tammy are AMAZING!! They take their time with each of their clients, and if you ever don't like something they will re-do it for you with no problem! But they NEVER make mistakes so you won't need to tell them to re-do anything!! Jenna does any new designs I show her on my phone! I suggest to get the sugar scrub when getting a pedicure it feels amazing while massaging and it also smells amazing as well! The atmosphere is beautiful! Everything is brand new, very clean, they sterilize all their instruments, they use a liner for the tub where you get your pedicure done so everything is CLEAN!
