This show is bananas. I had no idea what was going on at any point. Don't ask me about the plot. All I know is that there were bison, and people riding horses, and people waving flags, and at some point there was a big boom and some flashing lights. It's a show, for sure. It's something to watch while you eat. The food is fine. You get a lot of it! This is a prix fixe menu, so I don't believe you can pick what you want. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit, basically. You get a whole game hen, for crying out loud. Contrary to what some people think, you are not forced to eat with your hands here. You are provided with forks and spoons. But the game hen is something that you can tuck into with your hands, if you wanted to. You also get soup (poured from the aforementioned foil-lined Tupperware pitcher), a biscuit, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, corn on the cob, and a dessert, which was some sort of vanilla and chocolate coconut cake. It's a lot of food. A beverage is included with the meal, but if you want an alcoholic beverage, then that's a separate charge. I got a glass of red wine, because there was no way that I was going through this experience completely sober. I am not the audience for Dolly Parton's Stampede, but I'm glad I visited. Before my visit, I talked to a friend who had fond memories of visiting this dinner theatre show with his family many times when he was younger. I think it's the perfect place to visit with kids: It's food and a show! What can be better?

As a slow eater I wasn't able to finish my main before dessert came. Got to try both. One bite was enough. The show was decent. Tough to watch at times because of the servers. Even with a broken ankle I limped to our seats, handicapped seating was way up top. Maybe I expected more because of all the positive hype. Generally disappointing experience.

Parking is easy, except on really packed shows when you might take a pro-tip and park across the street at the college. Tickets are reasonable (usually $20-30), and the venue is really intimate and comfortable. There really isn't a 'bad seat in the house.' There was a big dedicated parking lot so parking was easy. Inside the venue, they had face painting and other kid-friendly activities while you were waiting for the show to start. Overall, we all really liked the performance! The acrobats were impressive and the trained animals did a great job. The dinner was mediocre, which was kind of expected. I had heartburn afterwards, so parents beware :) I tried ordering a beer but the website didn't work properly so I couldn't submit payment. Kind of annoying but probably for the best given the heartburn. Our 4 year old really enjoyed the show but did get bored about halfway through, so I guess the length of the show may be a bit better for older kids. Overall, we had a good time, although the price tag was a little high for me. I probably wouldn't come back but I do think it's worth seeing at least once!

I also expected the lights to dim once the movie started, but they stayed on throughout the film, which was frustrating since I was sitting right under one of them. I noticed mostly teenagers on staff, but they were friendly and did their best. Overall, it wasn't the experience I hoped for.
