Over priced for the quality. The pizza is just okay. What is driving the 1-star was the delivery experience and execution. I had food delivered to another local Weymouth business (about a mile away), provided the right address, and received a call from the delivery driver unable to find the location. Thinking they were in the area but couldn't find the actual location I asked for landmarks or street names. I'm not from the area myself. Turns out they were on the other side of town and from my conversation with the driver were not equipped with the right tools to find the location. I remained on the phone with the driver, looking at my phones GPS to provide him with what he needed. I told him I'd be putting in a call to his manager. It's absurd that in todays work where most of the population has immediate access to directions, that he couldn't or wouldn't do this for himself. I immediately called the location, asked to speak with a manager, was put on hold and told that they were not available and were making deliveries. I was not pleasant to the person on the other line due to high frustrations with having to explain why this was unacceptable and him, as not a manager, would not be able to help. I'm sorry to that person as I'm sure I was a big F-off customer for the day....but $50 (with tip) for 2 pizzas that were not in anyone's opinion "best of Weymouth" on top of having to provide tools and assistance to their employee was annoying as fuck. He took my number...which I had already provided for the order...and (no shock) am still waiting on a call back from the manager who is likely still out making deliveries. What's sad is how much referral business they lost out on that day. 6 additional groups saw our pizza boxes and asked where we got it. We immediately told them no...terrible service today and just ok pizza. They all ordered from elsewhere. For the future: please be transparent with your customers...if you can't deliver to another local business turn them away. If you can and are under staffed...be up front. Ordered foe delat a local brewery. Took over an hour (early Sunday afternoon), and the driver called for directions and was over 5 miles away. The brewery is less than 1.5 mules away. Driver claimed no access to GPS and asked me to complain to the company. Had to give drivers directions over the phone. Called to speak with management and was told they were out making deliveries. 100% a joke. Pizza was meh. read more

Well, I have ordered from Athens MANY times in the past, but NEVER AGAIN. I ordered via eat24 and ordered a large sub. When in arrived, I received a COLD ungrilled and flavorless wrap. I called hoping that the mistake would be corrected. But alas, NOT. The kids on the phone remarked, thatit showed on one his end as a wrap. I said that was not what I had wanted and he did not offer to correct the order. I stated that I am done with this business and hung up. 2.5 stars. Disclaimer: the food was actually pretty good. But I just can't get over the blatant disregard to a request I made and so I have to stick my ground on this one. Ordered 2 pizzas for a 7:05 delivery via Eat24. Placed the order shortly after 6. As I always do on Eat24, I asked that the driver NOT ring our doorbell because we have sleeping babies and an obnoxious dog. I put said babies to bed, hop in the shower (it's 6:24). Get out of shower to my doorbell ringing FIVE times at 6:42. Then BANGING on my door. I quickly throw on clothes, the dog is barking and the babies start crying. Get to the door and the driver is walking back to his car... this all in a matter of 60 seconds or so. Gives me my order without a receipt (not typical for Eat24 orders.) So he shows up almost 25 minutes early and ignores my request to not ring the bell. I review my order and verify that all the requests were made. Yup. Just completely ignored by the business/driver. I let Eat24 know and they said they would put a note on my account alerting all business we order from to review our special requests. I appreciate this and hope it makes a difference. I kinda wish the food had been awful because then I wouldn't be bummed that I'm still too disgruntled to order from them again. UPDATE: So since the whole debacle above, we've ordered at least a half dozen more times. We've done both pick-up and delivery. They have been very conscientious of our requests not to ring the bell since and always call (if we aren't already watching). I'm obsessed with the Napoleon calzone. I want it every week. I usually order carryout but I have done delivery. The steak subs, Greek chicken salad, and wing dinner wasn't the best. Steak sub was overloaded with meat, that tasted a bit old. I couldn't find the cheese and it just didn't compare to Charlie's at Braintree Mall. The Greek chicken salad was okay but the chicken was pretty bland and the Greek dressing and pita was nothing like what I imagined it to be. Moved to Weymouth a little over a year ago and have now tried Athens several times. We've placed several small orders and a larger order or two. We have never had an issue with an order. One time we ordered quite a bit and they included a couple of free desserts, which we weren't expecting and that my husband got to choose when he went to pick everything up. Appreciate that gesture! We really enjoy their wings (we don't usually get them with a sauce so we can dip them in whatever we want). Fries are nice and crispy. My fave is the gyro dinner. I believe they use real lamb, which makes it even tastier. Pita is yummy and tastes fresh, it's not just one of those thin pitas that fall apart that you can buy at the grocery store. I would eat the pita on its own hah! Also personally really enjoy their taziki and think it's thicker than others, which I'm 100% okay with. My hubs prefers Brothers' cheese pizza and chicken finger dinner but loves Athens' fries and wings. He recently tried their spaghetti and meatballs dinner but felt it was sub par (compared to what we usually make at home bc he never orders this when we go out...no idea what led him to do so that evening haha). obviously the best thing in this place is the pizza. Greek pizza of course. they always have hot slices of pepperoni or cheese ready to go just walk in. I got a small with sausage and green peppers very good. today I got the cheeseburger club which was huge, it was tasty but the fries were out of this world. nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside cooked to Perfection fresh. they have a bunch of booths and easy access to the bathroom which I always appreciate. so on Saturday i placed an order. one large pizza and a salad as the weather was bad and i did not want to cook anything for the chance that i would lose power. Normally i pay cash for my order and include a tip to the delivery person. on this occasion i paid with my debit card as i did not have cash on me. the order comes and i sign for the food. the driver then asked me if i am going to include a tip as he had to come out in the weather. i was somewhat taken aback to his question and added a $5.00 tip to the order. when i got back to my apartment i called the Athens pizza and asked for the manager; of course he/she was not there and i spoke to the person who answered the phone and relayed what transpired between me and the delivery person. first of all the delivery person job is to deliver food. period. in the wake of the pandemic the restaurants are struggling to stay afloat the last thing they need is to have some one like that hustling money from a paying customer and now i feel that i will no longer support this business as i do no trust that there will not be a retaliation on me. read more

First it's forgetting parts of my order and now tonight it's not even giving me what I ordered. I'm fucking starving. I ordered a MEDIUM RARE burger with a side salad. I get a BURNT burger on a burnt bun with NO side salad. That's literally $10 down the drain. I never eat burnt all the way through burgers. Now I have to order from some other establishment food because they keep fucking up. The week before they forgot my drink then argued with me about it even though it was on my receipt. You guys suck. Your food is becoming sub par, you guys take over an hour to get here, and when you do get here you never give me my entire order accurately. Terrible place, terrible food, terrible customer service. Surprised nobody's written a review for this place, it's been there for years and always seems to be hoppin. I ordered some pizzas and salad recently and really enjoyed them. They looked and tasted like they weren't just thrown together, but rather made with care and dare I say - love? The pizzas didn't exactly have any real "zing" to them but the cheese seemed like real fresh mozzarella and the sauce had this nice herb-y flavor to it. I ordered spinach on one and they put it under the cheese so as to not char it. Cool. The salad wasn't just shoved into it's container either, they actually arranged the veggies ontop of the lettuce that showed they gave a crud. The delivery was super fast and friendly too.
