This is proof that people do leave good reviews when deserved and its time I give credit to this…read moreplace for turning my experience from once difficult into now "Amazing" Have been a longtime member of Midtown, originally in Willowbrook when I was married and live close to the Club. After divorce , I moved to the northburbs with the kids joined Midtown for several months, and ultimately had to move to Wisconisn. In moving I had a lot of trouble exiting the contract, but this was several years ago. When I moved back to Buffalo Grove in 2022 checked out other area fitness clubs, Sky Fitness, LA Fitness, etc... and yes Midtown in Palatine which is a 15 min drive. I was most impressed with Midtown again, the remodel was excellent, the new locker room, new steam room, outdoor pool is huge and amazing, the fitness equipment is new and always available and never overcrowded, the personal trainers are longterm employess of the company, and very professional and experienced as a result, the food in the cafe is affordable and delicious and the gals in the cafe work hard and are good cooks, the new work area with tables with ports for your equipment is set away from the cafe and worlkout area and perfect to work, eat, then head to workout, and it all starts with the entry desk. Nick and the girls upfront are truly amazing, always greeting everyone with a friendly smile upon when entering and exiting the facility, they give you a real sense of belonging..... I'm very happy that I rejoined Midtown, the experience far exceeded my expectations!!!

I would pay this much money just for access to Bridgette and Katya's boxing classes alone. Not to mention the gorgeous and clean facility, the lovely cafe, the weight room, and all the other classes and amenities. I never once have to fear I'll get ringworm or MRSA here cuz it is CLEAN! I came here from LA Fitness and this place blows it out of the water

This a review for the Morton Grove location…read more Our 4 year old son had an absolute fantastic time with sensei Patel in the 4-7 year old beginner class. He looked forward to each class, and was always eager to tell us what he did in class. Sensei Patel did a fantastic job of balancing the class for all ages, not sidelining anyone, and instilling an eagerness in the students to learn more. Occasionally sensei Patel had to reign in, and redirect the energy a bit, however in a class geared towards rambunctious younger learners that is to be expected. For the following session we had him progress to a beginner/continuer 4-7 year old class. We wanted to keep him at the same or somewhat higher level of expectation as in sensei Patel's class. He was by far the youngest student in the class, and the older students were obviously much further down the road with their karate skills. The class ended up catering more towards the older students (6 and 7 year olds). What is needed to engage and motivate a 4-5 year old and a 6-7 year old student is quite different. Also, there are limits to what can be reasonably expected from a 4 year old student. With that said, the instructor was very skilled in martial arts, and for older students I can see him being suitable.

This place is more than a karate dojo to us, it is our extended family. We are very thankful that we found ISKC through our park district. From the excellent programs (for both young and old), to the top notch Senseis, nothing is short of the best. This organization is teaching my boys not only great karate (both competition and real life application), but also teaches them to be healthy, disciplined and confident about themselves. All these skills are directly helping them succeed in their school life as well and making them into well rounded individuals. My boys have also made great friends through this club that they will keep for a very long while! If you are looking for a karate club, par excellence, ISKC is definitely Chicagoland's top karate club! Highly recommended!

We cheered on a Chicago-Style Roller Derby bout last Saturday night. The rink seemed to be working for the teams, and we appreciated the rink-side fan seating option, on the floor right up next to the action. The acoustics weren't the best, so we could not discern 75% of what the announcer was saying, the the bout was great and we enjoyed our first visit to Salt Creek Sports Center. Loved that there were vendors present and we picked up decals, t-shirts, baked treats, and some really beautiful watercolor note cards. $20 a person to watch was steep, but I don't know if the facility sets the price or if that was the Derby folks charging $20 a person. Still really enjoyed our night!

Recently, they got some janitor closet turned into a women's locker room which it certainly isn't, but that's beside the point because my daughter plays roller hockey there. I will say the rink is tended in a decent manner, always plenty of parking, washrooms are reasonably clean, and they have a decent concession stand with a variety of food and beverages and you can walk in there on a Sunday morning and have the place to yourself. Supposedly across the street the Bears are going to build their stadium at Arlington Park , hopefully it doesn't affect this place since they do offer something that is not around a lot ,and that is roller hockey. Would hate to see something happen to this place since it serves a good purpose.
