There are all sorts of levels and classes here, for kids from 18 months to 9 years old. My daughter is encouraged and loves playing the games associated with teamwork, listening, and, of course, soccer skills. And she completely runs out all of her energy by the end of class. That allows me to totally win at nap time for the day. Extra props to Coach Blaize and Coach Hannah for all the energy and encouragement.

Between the bouncy houses and the soccer games during the party - there was always something going on to keep the kids active the entire party! This is the difference between privately owned and park district funded... the amenities are night and day. Locker rooms are clean and have cubbies and private showers. There is a ton of seating and even balconies for those who have physical impairments. The typical "hockey smells" also seem to be subdued here (although I didn't get to go by the player benches), which signals some heavy duty maintenance. The entire facility, including the bathrooms, seems to be well maintained. Based on watching the hockey teams associated with this rink, the coaching and talent seem to be of decent quality. If you're thinking about enrolling your kids in hockey, this is a good program. They also appear to have a vibrant figure skating program. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I haven't interacted with any of the employees here, so I don't know for certain if the facility quality is matched by the customer service. I did see that someone was waiting for 10 minutes to rent skates, which could've been just a one-time lapse and I'd opt to give them the benefit of the doubt!

We love GymStars Etc…read more We've been attending GymStars Etc. for a full year now and still love it just as much as day one. It's a great, family-friendly gymnastics place with excellent coaches who really know what they're doing. The gym is always clean and welcoming. Our kids range from advanced to beginner levels, and they've all made wonderful progress in a fun, supportive environment. It's truly an all-around great option! Highly recommend!

You cannot find any other place in the area to beat their value. We paid about only $30 a month for both me and my wife. This place is not fancy, just a standard gyms with standard equipment. If you just want to work-out, this place will serve you well. Friendly staffs, well maintain equipments, clean place, hot shower, and lots of activities, these will earn them at least 4 stars easily. What missing from this place which I really wish to see in the future is sauna and stream rooms. As soon as they have those, they will become 5 stars facility.

We cheered on a Chicago-Style Roller Derby bout last Saturday night. The rink seemed to be working for the teams, and we appreciated the rink-side fan seating option, on the floor right up next to the action. The acoustics weren't the best, so we could not discern 75% of what the announcer was saying, the the bout was great and we enjoyed our first visit to Salt Creek Sports Center. Loved that there were vendors present and we picked up decals, t-shirts, baked treats, and some really beautiful watercolor note cards. $20 a person to watch was steep, but I don't know if the facility sets the price or if that was the Derby folks charging $20 a person. Still really enjoyed our night!

Recently, they got some janitor closet turned into a women's locker room which it certainly isn't, but that's beside the point because my daughter plays roller hockey there. I will say the rink is tended in a decent manner, always plenty of parking, washrooms are reasonably clean, and they have a decent concession stand with a variety of food and beverages and you can walk in there on a Sunday morning and have the place to yourself. Supposedly across the street the Bears are going to build their stadium at Arlington Park , hopefully it doesn't affect this place since they do offer something that is not around a lot ,and that is roller hockey. Would hate to see something happen to this place since it serves a good purpose.

Keep in mind that at the most, I think you could still take your 8yo here, but 9 is pushing it for most kiddos. That could change if you bring their younger siblings. With the annual pass, you get to hang out as long as you want. I saw a mom working at the dining area while her kids ran around. Our 5yo is super happy here and she will be for many more years. The food is a little pricey as well, but it's decent quality. We got the daddy basket and it came with our choice of simply lemonade drinks. I'm also surprised that there are affordable souvenirs here with figures as low as $1.99 and mid-sized stuffies for $6.99. It's a safe environment with lots of space so you don't feel crowded. Also, plenty of places to sit and watch you kids as they explore. Bottom Line: Highly recommended for locals, slightly expensive for tourists. Worth it for fans of Peppa Pig.
