Before you trust Ignite Medical Resort Hanover Park with someone you love, please read this review…read more If my family had known then what we know today, we never would have placed our father at Ignite. During my father's 26-day stay, someone from our family was with him a minimum of 12 hours every single day. We weren't relying on updates from staff. We were there. We saw what happened. We asked questions. We took notes. We advocated for him every single day. Even with that level of involvement, we constantly found ourselves stepping in because things weren't getting done. Call lights went unanswered. My father's call button wasn't always within his reach when he needed help. Medications were left unattended at his bedside. Delays in care became routine enough that we felt we had to monitor what should have been basic responsibilities. We questioned the wound care he received, medications that were administered without anyone discussing potentially serious side effects, and decisions that never seemed to be fully explained to our family. Over time, the hardest part wasn't just watching his condition decline. It was watching him lose trust in some of the people responsible for caring for him. By the end of his stay, the overnight hours were the ones he feared most because he didn't believe someone would come when he needed help. I've attached one of the photographs we took immediately after removing the bandages from my father's foot after he left Ignite. It is one of many reasons our family still has unanswered questions about the care he received. After my father passed away, we didn't immediately write this review. Instead, we spent weeks reviewing hundreds of pages of medical records, organizing our notes, and preparing a detailed executive review because we believed Ignite's leadership would want to understand what happened. We also made sure to recognize the nurses, therapists, CNAs, and support staff who treated my father with kindness and compassion because they deserved to be recognized. Our review was sent directly to CEO Tim Fields. Amy Hammond, Vice President of Operations, contacted our family and met with us, along with Heintje Miranda, Vice President of Clinical Operations. Amy assured us she would investigate every concern we raised, answer our questions, provide the records we requested, and make sure no other patient experienced what our father had experienced. We left that meeting believing we would finally get answers. Instead, the deadline came and went. I sent a detailed follow-up email listing every document we had been promised, every unanswered question, and every commitment discussed during our meeting. We never received a response. No records were provided. No findings were shared. No explanation was offered. Communication simply stopped. There were employees at Ignite who treated my father with genuine kindness, and our family will always be grateful to them. This review is not about those individuals. It is about the care my father received, the questions that remain unanswered, and the complete lack of accountability from the people responsible for leading this organization. If this is how Ignite responds to a family that was present every day, documented everything, and genuinely wanted answers, I can't imagine what happens to families who aren't able to advocate the way ours did. My family will never again trust Ignite Medical Resorts with someone we love.

I chose Ignite medical resort because their website made it sound amazing. My mother had a bad fall…read moreand was in the hospital for two weeks and was in need of rehab. The care she received was awful. The staff was rude and would visit the room infrequently. My mother is allergic to dyes, the staff was alerted about this and on several occasions, they still tried to give her colored pills. Well, standing at the nurses station going over my mother's pills another patient came up and they ignored her for over five minutes. The next day another patient needed help to the bathroom and the nurse said call 911, I'll be there when I get there. My mother was there for rehab and after the third day and no scheduled rehab until the fifth day we pulled her out of Ignite. We found out the day before another family pulled their loved one out for the same reasons. Do not take your loved ones to Ignite !! Do not be fooled by their website.

SYMPHONY OF HANOVER PARK / 3RD FLOOR NURSING…read more I would agree with all the negative comments here. Many of the nurses aren't attentive, there is no communication and they simply don't care about the patients or the facility. It's impossible to find out any information. I came here as a cardiac patient (Heart failure) and had to wait numerous times for a nurse to answer my call light. The last straw was today when I waited over 1 hour and 22 minutes. Some of the nurses were nice and attentive but most don't really care. Sometimes this is a earmark of the people that own and manage because they purposely under staff, over work and under pay nurses, particularly the foreign ones. You can forget about your room being cleaned, bed made or a bath on the weekends. If you have a love one take them somewhere else. ***** 5 STARS go to Carol, Ashley and Stacy for the Rehab Unit (Different than the overnight nursing unit at Symphony) I came in not able to get into or out of a car, do stairs or walk very far. In just over two weeks I am now able to get into and out of our car, do stairs and walk further. Wish this rehab had out patient.

She is a terrific asset to PPT, not to mention very efficient. Dr Arpan Shah gave a thorough examination and created a treatment plan that proved to be very effective, despite my trepidation. His calm explanation was most welcome. Shueta assisted Dr Shah during my early appointments and delivered calm and careful instruction to avoid any excess pain. For the majority of my appointments Desy assisted and encouraged me with my treatment and with her vibrant personality actually made it enjoyable. I started to see results several appointments into the plan so the drag of driving there twice a week was a small price to pay for success. Jamie and Desy are the dynamic duo and PPT are lucky to have them on staff. They build rapport with patients and are very encouraging. They actually treat you like a person and even remember and greet you by name. They work with you and your pain and injury rather than go by the book and go out of their way to help you, way beyond the call of duty. They spend time getting to know you and your injury and focus on those points not like the other places that tell you to do your exercises by rote and don't even make eye contact treating you like a zombie. A special shout out to the therapists there who genuinely care like Barbara, Pretzel, Mocha, Brittany and Palak who treated me like family. If you're looking for physical therapy stop your search right here and go there. I very highly recommend it and will stand by it.

I was at this location from the end of March 2024 until July 08. By July I wasn't where I needed…read moreto be due to the trauma my body experience months before a surgery. But this Facility apparently was done with me. I understand going down to one day a week sessions, but what I couldn't understand was, why the deceit or run around. On July 05 at the end of my session I asked the receptionist if we could schedule my next round of appointments. She informed me my therapist wanted to discuss with me going down to one day (he was unexpectedly off after the Holiday) on Monday so she wanted to wait until I talked to him. So after my session on Monday I went up to her desk again and asked to schedule more appointments; this day she told me she couldn't schedule (apparently from Fri. - Mon. her story changed), anymore appointments as I needed to get approved first. I asked her. Approved from Who ? My therapist had mentioned the potential of Medicare being an issue. I informed I have TWO insurances and Medicare is Not my Primary, (in which they have this info.) they basically have nothing to do with this. So she says, hold on let me go check and she walked into the back, returning to tell me to call in 3-4 days to see if an approval came in. Again I asked approval from Who? (I know my 2 insurances were still covering this) She proceeded to say I had to wait for the Manager and due to the Holiday (4th of July), she is running behind so give her a few days. Really, this is how they operate? Knowing my insurance was still paying (& I even called them both to verify what I already knew), I called to schedule more appointments the next day. This particular women scheduled Two sessions for me and informed she was allowed to only schedule Two. (This was the very next day After the in house receptionist didn't want to be bothered scheduling the two allowed.) Then I was assured someone would call me to make the next set of appointments as soon as I was approved for more. She couldn't tell me either WHO exactly this so called approval was coming from. So I waited and waited, no one called. Plus the 2 I did get scheduled were 2.5 to 3 weeks away. Why does an established patient need to wait almost 3 weeks to get more sessions started? As I never heard back from anyone, I went elsewhere. But on July 22nd I received a phone call from Northwestern asking if I could take an appointment time available That day due to a cancelation. I informed I never had received a call to schedule more sessions and she informs me that they Are Indeed scheduled. I asked How? She then tells me her co-worker scheduled them for me. I asked, without talking to me? She sounded embarrassed and could only say her co worker must have thought she'd discuss it with me when I came in. I'd like to know if I couldn't do any of those days was I going to have to wait another 3 weeks to get in? So apparently it's the management who decides who's worthy of their time, they can push aside existing patients to allow room for New patients, so beware. Actually there is no really concern or care for their patients. I tried to send a letter to upper management but was only able to find a Patient Relations department for the hospital. I explained to her I did not want to discuss this with the local Bloomingdale office as they were the cause. She said she'd pass my name onto the next in charge. I never heard back, I sent a note telling the Patient Relations person that I didn't want to leave a bad review because I didn't want it to reflect poorly on my two therapists. Still I never heard from anyone. Now looking back at that environment I can truly say if you have a major issue this is not the best place to go. It's a large facility set up badly, i wanted to discuss the safety issues but no one wanted to call me and there were the bike that was positioned too close to it. Another time I had to use the Pullies directly after someone stopped using them (only one set !) Same thing with the armbike: None of the equipment is wiped off after use. No disenfective wipes are available in the therapy rooms for the Patient to wipe down. I saw a lot of Elderly people here, covid may not be raging but germs always exist. This facility has no weight bars for use and about daily I was given a Cane to use that surely was never wiped off from me or the last person who used it before me. My therapist attached a weight to the cane in which the velcro on the ends was worn down and it dangled over my face. When is it just going to fall apart onto someone's face? That's not all about the safety issues I spotted there but I'll just say I looked down when I walked I'm obviously highly disappointed in Northwestern but I think now they did me a favor because I'm in a much better place.
