It was right in the range that I might need to take an OTC drug, or just suffer with it. My wife suggested to try a chiropractor she started using. I met Dr Lorenz at Health First in Schaumburg Illinois, as part of the suggested regime when I started in 2021. As he began the treatment, he could immediately tell the muscles and tissues in my back where like a rock, as a natural response to the previous injury. He skillfully found all of the pain centers residing in my back, an painfully began to use naprapathic message to ease the tension and reduce the pain. I followed him when he decided to open Revolutionary Health, he seemed to have the space to begin more advanced concepts. He has begun to use a chiropractic bench which gives greater articulation to work on the back. He also has been able to begin treatment of the menial tunnel syndrome that I developed in my right arm, which seems to provide greater relief than when I went with the typical orthopedic treatments. I also has experience with magnetic treatments, which I've heard can provide pain relief as well. Overall, his treatment methodology is painful at the beginning, but in the long run, provides a terrific non-drug methodology to alleviate pain. Thankfully, my insurance covers this type of treatment. Generally speaking, since his practice is new, the office experience is a bit muted, since he does not have a staff. He has generally flexible scheduling between 9 am and 6 pm. Overall, I cannot express enough my recommendation for Dr Lorenz. Please consider this type of care, as a non-drug related substitute or addition to pain care.

They explained everything we did and hoe it correlated to recovering from my injury. This was key for me. Understanding the 'how' and 'why' makes it much easier for me to commit myself to anything. They worked me hard and put me on the right path to not only living pain-free, but growing in strength and flexibility. My posture is better than its ever been, and thanks to them, it will continue improving. now that I understand how to balance my muscles and how and why stretching affects my body. These two pushed me 3 steps closer to becoming superman. Their inherent knowledge of every bone, muscle, and ligament, how they interact, and how different movements, stretches, and exercises can change the human machine as a whole is both immediately apparent and impressive. Seeing that complete understanding made it very easy to trust in everything that asked of me, as well as everything they asked me to pull the reigns on. I don't do well with being told what to do. I'm bull-headed. I don't accept anything without understanding the logic behind it. It was clear from the beginning that they knew much more than enough to satisfy my need to believe there was sound reasoning for every part of my therapy with them. That trust paid off; I'm doing fantastic! An additional note: Whether or not it's intentional, Kate naturally creates a feeling of community while in the building. She gets everyone talking and interacting while we're going through the often times uncomfortable or painful stretches, exercises, and the myofascial (i just had to google that) releases with the metal tools that look like the back end of a wrench. That made every part of the therapy a lot easier for me, and definitely a few others there. It's easier to take the pain when someone cracks a joke, and we all felt comfortable enough to do so. She knew exactly what was going on by the end of the evaluation and explained my injuries in a way I could understand - which was such a relief after months of not knowing! I eventually needed surgery for a torn ligament in my ankle, Kate referred me to a new surgeon who was just as personable, kind and professional as her! The pt she worked with Rama Khatib - was very aggressive in her treatment , but backed off a bit when told she was causing pain. She backed off so much that my mother progressed very little. She was also observed to be rude to my mother as she was frustrated. My mom can't speak great English but is not dumb - and could see Rama being much more kind to her other patients and left my mom on the bike for 30 minutes without much intervention or care. Rama and I spoke to each other several times - and she didn't say much - except 'that's what I'm saying' when I would point things out that my mom needed to improve. Finally I was given the results of my sleep study (which fells like an incorrect diagnosis) they said they would send the results to me and they have yet to do so. They never changed my dad. They never bathed him.. If my mom didn't go everyday he would be sitting in filthy clothes and feces... If your loved has dementia I would definitely not have them go here. After 3 weeks of being there they sent him to a behavioral health facility and we couldn't visit at all and he got covid and sepsis and then basically passed away in hospice a month later. I guess if you want your loved one to pass away send them here. They know what to do.
