I'll be honest, it was a real adjustment moving from the hospital environment, to one that I have never experienced, so there were some bumps in the road - for the family to learn how to communicate best with the staff - and the staff to get to know us and my moms needs, but we are fortunate enough be able to be there often, and advocate for her. I have found the nursing and CNA staff to be compassionate, qualified, professionals overall. When I have felt that we had issues I didn't know how to resolve, the Administration was very willing to help us navigate the process and make any changes, or accommodations that they were able to. The Case Manager, the Physical Therapy staff, the nutritionists - seriously, everyone from the janitorial staff to the Administrator made me feel like my mother was safe, cared about, and physically rehabilitated to the best of her abilities. It absolutely helps the more the family can be involved to help their loved one get acclimated, and build the relationships with staff to help make the stay as productive and pleasant as possible under these circumstances. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in her care during her stay. You are just too many to name individually, but you know that I know who you are.

I had to contact Morton Terrace 4 different times just for basic informatiob. Not once, did their staff reach out to express any condolences or offer to assist My Family. I'm certain that's because their administration and their lawyers instructed staff to avoid communication with my family, given the nursing home facing potential grounds for a gross negligence lawsuit. We didn't initiate any litigation after discovery because of the lack of evidence and my family having just recovered from My Mother the year before.

Got a call on Monday afternoon said the found a place for dad up in Kewanee which is an 1 1/2 hour from us. That's was upsetting but what was really upsetting was they moved him right after that call and to top it off he arrived at the faculty in Kewanee with only socks on, no coat, no shoes and none of his clothes and belongings we got him. I don't understand how people could be so negligent since it's like 20 degrees outside
