For many years, I had a growth on my left hand index finger that resembled a wart or nevus. My…read moredermatologist try to freeze it multiple times but it still came back slowly over the years. They suggest I find a hand specialist, which lead me to find Dr. Metz at Core in my Cigna PPO network. First visit doctor simply examined the finger, took X-rays, and did an ultrasound of the finger to see if he could determine a diagnosis - x-rays and scan looked clear. To avoid future issues he recommended we remove it. Follow-up visit in Elks Grove Village for surgery was easy. Dr. Metz fully scrubbed up (which is something my derm never does). Dr. Metz removed the growth and sutured the small incision with great care and precision. Follow-up visit was simple - stitches removed and confirmed diagnosis of scar tissue/nevus. Would NOT hesitate to see doctor or recommend him or the Core Orthopedic Group for any future medical needs.

After rehab, I was as good as new and still am, doing all of my favorite activities, even adding 50 yards to my golf tee shots! I also am bothered occasionally by pain and stiffness in my left knee due to osteoarthritis. Through physical therapy and injections when needed, this condition has been managed well. Dr. Lopez believes in treating conditions conservatively and this is definitely the best way to go. The front desk staff and the PT reviewed my doctor's notes and told me the visit would be "a hundred-something dollars" billed to insurance, with me responsible for 20%. Based on that, I agreed to proceed. Instead, they billed my insurance $360, leaving me with a much higher out-of-pocket cost. When I called billing, the manager said I must have misunderstood and claimed they don't give estimates, refused to check with the staff who gave me the quote, and told me to contact my insurance. I was also warned the balance could be sent to collections. This felt like a bait-and-switch, and the customer service was very disappointing. I won't be returning and recommend getting everything in writing before starting treatment. They billed 3 codes for every 15 min spent there, Therapeutic Procedures 97112- $126, Neuromuscular reeducation 97112 $70 & Therapeutic activities 97530- $162.00. If you don't need surgery you are corralled into pt which I'd previously done with n little attention and no results. Did X-ray and no mri yet stated i had a mri. Very sloppy diagnosis and almost no attention and no physical exam. Stay away unless you want hip replacement. Care quality is poor. Attention to detail non existent.

Dale did his own Xrays and showed me all the structures on the screen with green and red lines for me to see what the normal position and curves should be, with both sets of tests. The team there is Dale Mraz DC and his assistant Ellen O'Malley. The treatment plan from Dr. Dale who's certified in BioPhysics, has resulted in my neck moving "back over my shoulders", no radiating pain in my left arm and no need to apply CBD pain gel daily. My low back is much less painful by doing core strengthening exercises and micro current electric stimulation around L4 at each visit. Ellen supervises positioning the repetitions to ensure proper alignment and follow through. They both are always very welcoming, manage several patients in the PT space like a well oiled machine and I truly enjoy going and having their company when I'm there. I highly recommend them to any patient, any age for whatever ails you!
